    Duties
    Basic Function of the Position:

    Under the direct supervision of the Fraud Prevention Manager, the Consular Associate is assigned a wide range of responsibilities in the Fraud Prevention Unit (FPU). The jobholder provides consular services to U.S. citizens, conducts nonadjudicatory visa processing, and assists in investigation and validation studies. Incumbent also handles correspondence with the public, attorneys, U.S. and host governments, Congress, and other parties. Must be able to secure and maintain a Secret level security clearance.

    Qualifications and Evaluations
    Requirements:
    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Completion of High School is required. 
    JOB KNOWLEDGE:  General understanding of U.S. policies related to consular and visa operations.
    Education Requirements:
    EXPERIENCE:

    Minimum of three years of office administrative experience is required with at least one year of consular experience.

    Evaluations:
    LANGUAGE: Level IV (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing of English is required.
    SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  

    Must be able to input data in consular systems with minimum errors, and spot and correct errors made by others (applicants and fellow staff).
    Demonstrated skills in MS Office Suite and general computer skills including information and database management.
    Organizational skills, including task management and filing skills; communication skills including writing skills appropriate for drafting official correspondence and reports.
    Ability to obtain and maintain a DOS Secret Security clearance.
    Tact and good judgment in dealing with the public, often under difficult and sensitive circumstances.
    Sensitivity in evaluating evidence and applying complex regulations correctly.
    Ability to learn applicable U.S. and host country laws, regulations, legal precedents, and court decisions.
    Good interpersonal skills.

    Qualifications:

    Overall function

    Reporting to the Team Lead Software Development, the Data Engineer will play a crucial role in harnessing disease surveillance data for ongoing surveillance of new and emerging infectious diseases. They will focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining data pipelines and storage solutions, ensuring data is readily available for analysis and decision-making. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in data engineering, with a strong understanding of data integration, processing, and database management. While reporting to Team Lead Software Development, the Data Engineer will closely collaborate with the DDSR M&E department within the Kenya Ministry of Health.

    Major Accountabilities:

    Design and implement data pipelines to capture, process, and transform disease surveillance data from various sources into a usable format.
    Develop and maintain databases that efficiently store and organize large datasets, ensuring data integrity and availability.
    Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and integrate data from multiple systems into a unified and accessible repository.
    Implement data quality checks and validation processes to ensure the accuracy and consistency of surveillance data.
    Build automated data processing solutions that streamline data ingestion and reduce manual data manipulation.
    Investigate and evaluate new informatics tools and technologies, staying updated with industry advancements to enhance existing data systems.
    Provide training and mentorship to the MoH DDSR surveillance and M&E teams in data engineering best practices.
    Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and the data engineering team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout data-related projects.
    Create comprehensive documentation of data pipelines, data models, and processes for future reference.
    Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards to protect sensitive health data.
    Continuously monitor and optimize data pipelines and databases for improved performance.
    Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information engineering, data science, or a related field. Additional training in data engineering, data management, or relevant certifications is a plus.

    Experience, Skills, and Minimum Required Qualifications:

    Minimum of two (2) years of experience in data engineering, including working with large datasets and data processing.
    Proficiency in data integration tools and technologies.
    Strong understanding of database management, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data warehousing.
    Proficient with relevant data engineering tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL, SSIS, Talend, Spark).
    Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
    Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
    Experience with health data standards and compliance is advantageous.
    Meticulous attention to detail and data quality.

    ABOUT THE ROLE
    Key responsibilities for the role include: 

    Teaching the subject of specialization i.e. French.

    Support clubs, societies and other core-curricular enrichments at the school aimed at building all rounded students.
    Serve as home room teachers when called upon to do so

    ABOUT YOU
    Skills and Qualifications required:

    You have a TSC certificate
    A Bachelor’s degree in Education and qualified to teach two subjects. The applicant should have attained a minimum grade of C+ in the teaching subjects.
    A minimum of a C+ grade attained in KCSE.
    You have 1-2  years of teaching experience.
    You have good working skills with technology such as Word, Powerpoint and Excel
    You are a great communicator. You are able to provide clear and effective written and verbal communication.
    You are flexible and open to change – you handle uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity well.

    JOB OBJECTIVE

    Represent the University positively to prospective students and stakeholders

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer science and related areas.
    At least 3 years’ teaching experience at tertiary level in CCNA, Python and Network essentials.
    Professional certification by CISCO academy.
    Professional membership with CISCO academy.
    Master’s degree in Information Technology, Data analytics and related areas is an added advantage
    Pedagogical training will be an added advantage

    OTHER SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
