    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
    Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Visitors Service, Nairobi. The incumbent will be responsible for the following tasks:  
    CONDUCT TOURS AND BRIEFINGS  

    Conduct tours of the United Nations Office at Nairobi   Give briefings and presentations about the United Nations and topics linked to the work of the UN (online or in-person).  Explain the structure and current functions of the United Nations as well as rules of procedure of the Principal Organs of the United Nations and subsidiary bodies.  Describe recent actions taken by United Nations bodies, especially UNEP and UN-Habitat and statements made by them or by the Secretary-General.  Answer questions, precisely and diplomatically, concerning political, economic, and social matters connected with the work of the United Nations.  Provide historical information regarding UNON and its buildings, including the significance of gifts donated by Member States and by other entities.  Observe visitors’ behavior and traffic on the tour route and report any security and safety concerns.  Conduct special tours and briefings for new UN recruits, delegates, military personnel, visiting affiliates such as NGOs and corporate executives, VIP guests, and students from elementary to graduate level.  Provide information adapted to the various cultural backgrounds, educational levels, and special interests of the groups visiting.  

    PREPARATORY WORK  

    Attend briefings provided by the Visitors Service in order to keep abreast of current developments and gets guidance on how to address certain issues. Review press releases and other official UN information material for information.  Maintain up-to-date knowledge of events relating to political, security, humanitarian, human rights and development issues by monitoring daily situation reports as well as local and international news. Request and attend special briefings from high-ranking UN officials/experts on specific UN-related issues.Develop and update materials aimed at presenting the work of the UN to a broader public; or at promoting and marketing the Visitors Service vis-à-vis its target audiences.     Engage with the Visitors Service’s target audiences (via e-mail, social media, newsletters, etc.) in order to inform about the VS services and facilitate tours and briefings. Prepare and translate tours in different languages. Perform other duties as may be assigned.

    Qualifications/special skills

    Certificate in Public Relations or Communications or Marketing is required. To have worked for at least 6 months in a similar position or as a tour guide is required. Profound knowledge of the history, structure and work of the United Nations is desirable High level of customer orientation and patience is desirable Flexibility to adapt working hours according to demand is desirable Photography and social networks writing is desirable

    Languages

    Fluency in oral and written English is required. Fluency in oral in either Chinese, French or Arabic is required. Knowledge of German and other UN languages is desirable.

    The Job holder is responsible for facilitating the strength and conditioning training of student-athletes, assisting with the development of exercise routines and nutritional intake, exercise supervision, as well as tracking the athletes’ progress and adjusting exercise plans accordingly

    Duties & Responsibilities: 

    Conduct fitness assessments to evaluate strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
    Develop and implement customized strength and conditioning programs based on individual or team goals.
    Instruct proper exercise techniques and ensure the safe and effective execution of training routines.
    Monitor and track student progress, making adjustments to training programs as needed.
    Collaborate with athletes, coaches, and other professionals to integrate strength and conditioning principles into overall training strategies.
    Provide education on nutrition, hydration, and recovery strategies to enhance overall athletic performance.
    Stay informed about current trends, research, and advancements in strength and conditioning to continually improve training methodologies.
    Assist in injury prevention through targeted exercises and appropriate modifications to training plans.

    Duties & Responsibilities: 

    Develop and implement a comprehensive player development program for student-athletes. 
    Assess and evaluate the skills and abilities of each student athlete, and provide individualized coaching and feedback to help players improve their skills.
    Plan and conduct regular team practices and training sessions by creating practice drills and routines that focus on skill development, teamwork, and strategy.
    Ensure that training sessions are safe and adhere to all relevant health and safety guidelines.
    Develop game strategies and tactics by analysing the competitor, and create game plans to exploit competitor weaknesses while making real-time decisions and adjustments during games.
    Participate in scouting and identification of talented student-athletes who meet the university’s Monitor the academic progress and well-being of student-athletes.
    Monitor the academic progress and well-being of student-athletes to encourage and support academic success and adherence to university policies, and to promote a healthy, balanced lifestyle among team members.
    Manage team logistics, including scheduling, travel arrangements, and equipment.
    Foster a positive team culture that promotes sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork. 
    Resolve conflicts and maintain open communication within the team.
    Participate in and promote safe, professional and ethical sporting practices by advocating for fair play and anti-doping practices in line with the duty of care for the athletes, and in line with the University’s values and regulations of relevant governing bodies. 
    Promote the team within the university and the community and encourage the team’s participation in outreach and community service activities.
    Stay current with developments in the sport, coaching techniques, and trends in athletics, and to attend coaching clinics and workshops to enhance coaching skills
    Maintain accurate records of team performance, statistics, and player progress, and to provide regular reports to the management. 
    Collaborate with medical professionals and other coaches to prevent injuries and support the rehabilitation of injured players.  
    Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

    Hold a Degree in Medicine and Surgery from a recognized university/ (medical training) college with a minimum of 2 years’ experience.
    Hold a valid active practicing license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.

    Experience        

    Position holder should have at least 2 years’ experience working as a licensed Medical Officer in a busy maternity institution and experience in working in a startup maternity facility.
    Neonatal/Paediatric or reproductive health experience is an added advantage.
    Knowledge and Skills Requirements

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Provide advice to patients regarding healthy lifestyles and specific measures that may help the patient avoid a recurrence of ill health;
    Assist in Continuous Medical Education for clinical staff in the facility;
