    Key Responsibilities

    Lead the IAVI Africa resource mobilization strategy development and implementation to support research and development initiatives in the region.
    Develop and implement a rigorous partner outreach and cultivation plan to ensure increased support for IAVI’s expanded work and secure strategic and sustainable funding to meet program needs.
    Partner with Operational Excellence team and Global Affairs to ensure a robust proposal process is in place to support IAVI Africa including tools, systems, policies, and workplans to support the execution of IAVI Africa Resource Mobilization Strategy.
    Support the identification and analysis of opportunities (including funding opportunities, potential partners, while managing partner due diligence) and ensure these activities are tracked, advanced and communicated to AMT and other internal teams for decision-making purposes.
    Participate in the global resource mobilization team to exchange fundraising priorities, monitor progress, share best-practices and contribute to resource mobilization process improvement.
    Project manage proposals that are led and/or supported by IAVI Africa to ensure high-quality and strategically aligned applications are submitted on time with a high rate of success.
    Develop and leverage existing proposal assets including an opportunity calendar, a repository for IAVI Africa submissions, a donor profiles database and a proposal progress tracking tool.
    Create key content including drafting pitch materials, writing concept notes and detailed proposals, responding to open applications and calls for proposals and other content to facilitate and support new/existing funding relationships.
    Participate in external networking events, workshops and meetings to present the IAVI story and case for support to potential funders across the CSR and Philanthropy sectors.
    Support cultivation of relationships with funders, partner organizations and other relevant stakeholders and manage strategic relationships with key funders.
    Garner competitive business intelligence, and create inroads and new relationships with potential funders.

    Education and Experience:

    Master’s degree in business, international development, political science, Public Health or relevant field is required.
    Minimum of 8 years’ experience in an international or similar non-profit organization with a focus on resource mobilization for global health and R&D and innovative funding mechanisms (e.g., CSR, social impact investment) required.
    Experience working with public and private or philanthropic funders, especially those engaged in Africa global health and R&D.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    Proven track record of successful resource mobilization and establishing long term relationships with public and private entities.
    Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work collaboratively with others from a range of disciplines and cultures.
    Demonstrated ability to design, implement and monitor fundraising strategies.

Therefore, JGP is implementing interventions on access to finance, business skills training, and more, bundled with relevant technical assistance and purposeful learning and adaptation. To aid loan application, assessment, disbursement, and collection, JGP will host a loan origination and servicing platform to facilitate the allocation of short- and medium-term finance and appropriate technical assistance to Kenya’s young women, men, and qualified enterprises.
    The partnership in delivering these interventions reflects an assessment of project needs and involves partners to address them. Three financial intermediaries (Powered by People, Grassroots Business Fund, and 4G) will lead in financial disbursements and pre- and post-financial access technical assistance to the 229,500 enterprises segmented by sector and size. JGP recognizes the need to carefully reach, onboard, and follow the progress of these MSMEs. Therefore, three Business Membership Organizations are brought on board as pipeline partners.     DT Global is seeking a Program Manager based in Nairobi, Kenya to support the USAID-funded Inclusive Resilience in Somalia (IRiS) activity.     Project Background:

    The Inclusive Resilience in Somalia (IRiS) program seeks to accelerate economic development for marginalized groups in the target areas of Somalia by increasing individual, household, business, and community, and system-wide resilience through rural and urban livelihood diversification and promoting inclusive economic market systems to combat real perceived grievances that contribute to violent extremism and conflict.

    The project will pursue two main objectives:

    Strengthen and diversity in rural and urban livelihoods for marginalized groups; and
    Promote economic agency of marginalized groups.

    Tasks and Responsibilities:
    Project Delivery

    Serve as a DT Global home office representative to USG clients throughout the project life cycle as delegated, including startup and closeout meetings; regular correspondence regarding implementation progress; as-needed problem solving; and delivering presentations on the project to a variety of actors.
    Manage one or multiple donor-funded projects and oversee day-to-day project management from award through closeout, including contractual compliance, financial management, and oversight of project personnel and subcontractors.
    Stay up to date on program implementation and serve as a resource for other home office colleagues regarding projects within their portfolio.
    Identify implementation bottlenecks across functional areas and rally resources to address and resolve issues
    Work closely with the MERL Director, Director of Strategic Communications, and Communications Specialist to ensure timely preparation of quarterly and annual reports.     Technical Excellence

    Education and Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in related field, including international development or relations, economics, political science, government, or business; or a relevant combination of education and work experience required.
    Minimum 4-6 years of direct USAID project management and support experience, responsible for overseeing project implementation and business development initiatives.
    Substantial experience in managing international donor projects and extensive knowledge of donor regulations and policies (including AIDAR and FAR), especially as they relate to contracting and procurement.
    Solid background in managing programs, including complicated budgets.
    Ability to serve as in-country program manager in the event of a vacancy or absence.
    Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently as well as on a team.
    Strong organization and prioritization skills with keen attention to detail.
    Long-term field experience working outside the US, particularly in developing countries, required.
    Knowledge of U.S. foreign policy in the Africa, the Middle East, or other relevant regions.
    Ability to be based in Nairobi and spend at least 70% of time in Mogadishu, Somalia.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Master’s degree in international development or relations, economics, political science, government, business, or a related field
    Economic growth or market systems development expertise and experience preferred
    2 years staff management experience
    Experience working within or managing awards made up of consortium partners is a plus
    Experience with project start-ups and/or closedowns preferred
    Experience working with multiple donor countries preferred
    Fluency in Somali, Arabic, or French

    Tax Specialist Talent Acquisition Manager

    This role will report to the Head of Tax and the role will encompass handling quarterly and annual Tax reporting, Tax accounting, supervise Tax compliance obligations including transfer pricing documentation, assisting the local entities with their Tax audits and keeping up-to-date with global legislation which directly or indirectly affects the Jumia group.

    What you will be doing:

    Operate as a key business partner to provide high quality tax compliance and reporting services for the Jumia group;
    Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and group policies;
    Manage group tax reporting and automation processes in terms of current and deferred tax assessment, ETR and accounting under IFRS;
    Take an active role within the central tax team in the assessment, documentation and reporting of group uncertain tax positions;
    Review income tax returns and, more generally, supervise and be accountable for the compliance with filing obligations for direct and indirect taxes, including transfer pricing;
    Support and coordinate tax audits. Manage external tax service providers and coordinate the preparation of the materials to ensure the Jumia interests are well represented;
    Contribute to tax compliance automation projects.

    What we are looking for:

    Background in Economics/Business Management/Law/Accounting;
    2/5 years of experience with exposure to a broad range of Tax issues in international Tax law, contracts, Tax audits management, Tax reporting, financing in an international environment;
    Experience within the e-commerce sector would be a plus;
    Detail-oriented mindset;
    Ability to work both independently and collaboratively;
    Passion for making things happen and getting excited about identifying and delivering simple solutions to complex Tax problems;
    Fluent in English both verbal and written;
    Previous exposure to a multinational environment is a plus.
