    To qualify for recruitment, a candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

    Be a Kenyan citizen;
    Must be a holder of at least a diploma in education with a minimum mean Grade of C+ (plus) and C+ (plus) in two teaching Subjects in KCSE or its equivalent.
    Must be a registered teacher with Teachers Service Commission

    NB: Qualified Technical Teachers (TVET) are encouraged to apply.
    In addition to the above qualifications an applicant for Teacher Internship posts must at the time of application meet the following extra requirements:

    Should not have been in previous employment with the Teachers Service Commission, as a teacher on permanent terms;
    Must have a Personal Accident Insurance to cover for personal risks during the internship period.

    NOTE

    The Teacher Internship Programme is a one (1) year programme meant to equip and sustain competencies of persons entering the teaching service. The programme targets unemployed registered teachers to be assigned to learning institutions where their teaching experience will be enhanced through mentorship, coaching and exposure to practical teaching experience.
    During verification/ interviews applicants shall be required to produce the following:-

    A copy of Teacher Registration Certificate/print-out from TSC online portal as evidence of registration as a teacher;
    A copy of National Council for Persons with Disability (NCPWD) card (where applicable);
    A copy of the National Identity Card (ID) or Passport;
    Two (2) colour passport size photographs;

    A copy of National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) card;
    A copy of Kenya Revenue Authority Personal Identification Number (KRA PIN).

    DURATION OF INTERNSHIP

    The Internship period will be twelve (12) months.

    MONTHLY STIPEND FOR TEACHER INTERNS

    This is not a remunerative engagement. However, teacher interns attached to Primary schools will be eligible for a monthly stipend of Kshs. 15,000/=, while those attached to Junior Secondary schools will be eligible for a monthly stipend of Kshs. 20,000/=. The stipend will be paid subject to statutory deductions, where applicable.

    INTERNSHIP CERTIFICATE

    On successful completion of the Internship Programme, teacher interns will be awarded a certificate.

    ABOUT THE ROLE
    Key responsibilities for the role include:

    Playing the role of a ‘parent’ for the students in a professional working relation.
    Being a role model in all actions and behavior to the students.
    Defending the rights of the child.
    Creating a safe environment for teenagers to develop their emotional and social skills.
    Supervising the wellbeing,  discipline and behavior of students.
    Observing emotional behavior and referring them to the school counselor.
    Help the students maintain the cleanliness of their dorm rooms.
    Report any cases of sickness to the Dean of Residential Life
    Implementing the residential schedules for the students.
    Supervision of the student’s hygiene and neatness.
    Keeping records and reports of residential issues/occurrences within their assigned spaces.
    Executing any other duty that may be assigned to him by the dean of residential life
    Communicate regularly with the Dean of Residential Life regarding student behavior in the dorm area.
    To live in and supervise the dormitory.

    ABOUT YOU
    Skills and Qualifications required:

    Certificate/Diploma in social work or any other relevant course in child welfare.
    You have 2+ years of experience working with students. 
    Professional counseling skills with a proven track record will be an advantage.
    Knowledge  and experience working with teenagers before.
    You are flexible and open to change – you handle uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity well.
    You are a problem solver – you are proactive in identifying issues and address these thoroughly by making an effort to find appropriate solutions.
    Should have the ability to set clear expectations and boundaries and hold students accountable.
    Should have computer literacy.
    She should be caring, understanding, and patient naturally. 
    Should have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing. 
    Should have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through. 
    Have a positive attitude, flexible approach, and a sense of humor.
    You have the ability to exercise discretion in handling sensitive matters

    The restaurant waiter or waitress will be responsible for service provision of food and beverages to the guests in an efficient and professional manner.
    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Welcoming guests into the restaurant and presenting them with the menu
    Taking guests orders on order taking pads or on the handheld Point of Sale (POS) sytem and serving them
    Clearance and cleaning of the table
    Obtaining revenues, issuing receipts, accepting payments and returning the change
    Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor
    Communicate to the guest and provide assistance with their queries
    Promptly respond to guest with any additional request
    Co-ordinate with the kitchen staff, bartenders, housekeepers and front office staff in a professional manner to ensure service is seamless.
    Assist in other areas of the restaurant such as answering telephones and completing financial transactions
    Closing the shift on the POS terminal
    Any other duties as shall be assigned from time to time
