    Job purpose
    Reporting to the Nursing Services Manager, the Officers main responsibility will be to assist patients and clients by restoring a balance in their individual’s personal, family and social life, in order to help them maintain or recover his/her health and strengthen his/her ability to adapt and reintegrate into society.
    Qualifications

    Diploma in Medical Social Work from a recognized institution or Social Work with Hospital work experience
    Certificate in Computer applications from a recognized institution.
    Good writing and communication skills
    Good reporting skills
    Coordinating skills; able to plan, set priorities and follow ups
    Good interpersonal and communication skills
    Presentation skills, able to speak in public
    Personal attributes: integrity, honesty, ethics and integrity, self-motivated and strong interpersonal skills

    Responsibilities

    Provide psycho- social support to patients and their relatives.
    Counseling of Patients and relatives.
    Supervision and guidance of students on attachment.
    Plan and organize post hospitalization care and support.
    Participate in home based care programs and rehabilitation of patients and relatives.
    Repatriation of stranded patients.
    Ensuring compliance with the set standard operating procedures

    Responsibilities

    Setting agenda and convening physical planning liaison committee meeting
    Keeping record of deliberations and communication decisions of the physical planning liaison committee

    Responsibilities

    Requirements

    Must demonstrate strategic planning skills and ability to design and implement short term, medium and long term plans.
    Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the values and principles as outlined in articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya.
    Ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, meets deadlines and develop innovative recommendations and solutions to problems.
    Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
    Must be organized, motivated and a team player.
    Computer literacy with all aspects of Microsoft Windows network; experience with data base management a plus.

    Oversee community mobilization working closely with the department of Children services in consultation with other government departments, likeminded stakeholders and community based resource persons.
    Oversee implementation of planned community outreach activities.
    Undertake documentation of field activities in line with donor guidelines and timely submission of Quarterly and Annual reports.
    Represent ChildFund at County level and below.
