    Responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance of vessels/crafts and industrial plant equipment cognizant to A-06 Port Operations and all related electrical repairs and overhauling works, including but not limited to:

    Removal and installation, overhaul, repairs, diagnosing problems of electrical systems such as; alternating and direct current electrical power generators, air conditioning units, electric motors, starter motors, power distribution, transformers, electrical controls, radio and communication equipment, lightings, magnetic coils, magnetic switches, relays, circuit breakers, batteries, battery charging systems (alternators/regulators), electrical wirings and all other electrical related equipment, parts and accessories onboard floating assets of A-06 Port Operations.
    Overhaul and repair of Navigational Aids System on buoys and Land Markers, and Fire and Flooding Alarm Systems of fuel barges.
    Repairs of welding machines, starter motors, alternators, pressure washers, portable air compressors, electrical pumps / hand tools and various Industrial Plant Equipment (IPE) and electrical equipment.
    Performance of assigned scheduled (PMS) maintenance requirements on boats, crafts and IPEs, compliant with US Navy 3M System.
    Support to maintenance and repairs of Syncrolift Shiplift & Transfer System.

    Maintains awareness to safety requirements and all work areas clean and in good housekeeping.
    Performs other duties as required to support contract requirements of A-06.

     BASIC JOB QUALIFICATIONS: (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

    Must demonstrate a clear knowledge of electrical trade theory & National Electrical Code.
    Must have knowledge and be able to use or operate electrical test equipment & tools.
    Must have the ability to read and interpret electrical / electronic / mechanical schematic drawings, sketches, or blueprints.

    DESCRIPTION OF JOB TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Performs sound and security watch to physically observe/check each boat and service craft of Port Operations inside the Small Boat Basin (SBB), ensuring all moorings are correct and made fast to respective bollards, bitts, or cleats.

    Conducts security rounds each one-hour and performs sounding of bilge water of all boats and crafts every two-hours, maintaining constant radio contact with Port Control Tower (PCT) reporting status, condition or any unusual circumstances occurring on each boat and service craft.

    Makes a log entry on the condition of each boat and craft after each round.
    Activates the Fire and Flooding Alarm System of all YONs (fuel/oil barges) at the start of the watch and deactivates same at the end of the watch.

    Incumbent performs duties/watch either on swing shift (1600H – 2400H) or graveyard shift (2300H – 0700H), always accompanied by another boat watcher.
    While on duty, incumbent wears the identification garment, maintains awareness to safety requirements and keeps all work areas clean and in good housekeeping.
    Performs other duties as required to support contract requirements of Annex-06.

    About the Project
    Animals, plants and microorganisms harvested and grown in water play a significant role in sustainably feeding and nourishing the world. Globally, 800 million people depend on small-scale fisheries and aquaculture for their livelihoods. But these vital aquatic food systems are hindered by the insecure livelihoods of those in related jobs, their low capacity to adapt to climate change, and the loss of marine nature.
    The Asia-Africa BlueTech Superhighway project, supported through the UK’s Climate and Ocean Adaptation and Sustainable Transition (COAST) program under the umbrella of the Blue Planet Fund (BPF), will focus on enabling communities to adapt to and mitigate against climate change as well as responsibly and sustainably manage marine and coastal nature and resources resulting in improved food and nutritional security as well as employment and income opportunities. The project will be implemented in two phases over seven years, starting with Phase 1 in Bangladesh, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, and Tanzania.
    About the Position
    WorldFish is looking for a Post-doctoral Fellow, Fisheries Assessment & Management to be based in Mombasa, Kenya. This position is right for you if you have an advanced degree in fisheries ecology, management or a related discipline, extensive field experience in a developing country context, an interest in digital innovation and a genuine desire to make a difference.
    This position will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation and coordination of the Kenya activities of the Digital COAST work package of the Asia-Africa BlueTech Superhighway project, funded by the UK Government. The project will be conducted in partnership with international NGO Wildlife Conservation Society, and in close collaboration with relevant agencies in Kenya, Tanzania and Mozambique (e.g. KMFRI, ZAFIRI, IDPPE). The position will work with national and international fisheries, governance, gender and nutrition specialists to develop and implement research approaches, technologies, and predictive models that guide fisheries decision-making and policy in Kenya.
    Central objectives of the Digital COAST work package are to:

    Develop collaborative digital systems to monitor coastal fisheries exploitation in Kenya, Tanzania and Mozambique
    Use new ecological, biological and social evidence and knowledge to inform sustainable management and development of Kenya’s coastal fishery resources,
    Strengthening collaborative, locally-embedded partnerships to build successful co-management of fisheries resources,
    Strengthen the technical capacity of fisheries stakeholders to utilize and maintain monitoring systems for decision-making.

    The successful candidate will be responsible to:
    Research Projects

    Work with the project team and senior experts to develop ecological and digital research approaches and tools targeted at improving knowledge of resources, exploitation and sustainable co-management.
    Engage with WorldFish and partner scientists across other geographies to learn from, and contribute to, a growing body of work on coastal fisheries co-management and fisheries technology;
    Work with research, government and NGO partners to build capacity and implement key research activities;
    Take primary responsibility for research implementation, data collection, data validation, quality assurance and analysis under project activities;
    Under the guidance of senior team members, including the work package lead, produce high-quality scientific publications from project findings;
    Contribute to the development of policy advice and action plans on the implementation of digital fisheries monitoring systems and predictive models in Kenya;

    Play a key role in H&S and report promptly any H&S incidences to the manager and senior management
    Promote the improvement, enhancement and achievement of agreed client retention rate.
    Support staff development programs at the department by working closely with the department seniors and HR
    Undertake any other tasks as may be directed by Management

    Requirements
    Key requirements

     A diploma or degree qualification in any business course
     A good grasp of the Company’s products and services
     minimum of 2 years experience as pest control supervisor  Strong selling skills
     Demonstrated ability to generate leads
     Self-drive and initiative in current role
     Any relevant tertiary education
