    Our client is currently recruiting a Head of Operations to join their quest to grow the continent’s promising impact enterprises. The Operations Head will be responsible for managing one of the largest and most diverse teams within East Africa operations.
    Main Purpose of the Job:
    General management of the warehouse operations and strategic planning on activities to provide feasible solutions to challenges that may arise while involving yourself in practical work on the floor on receiving, arranging and dispatching of materials.
    Job Responsibilities 

    Improving adherence and compliance to existing systems and processesStriving for operational excellence in a resource-constrained environmentContinually iterating and improving systemsLearn, reinvent, optimize and manage every aspect of the operations of the company and the necessary headquarters support.
    Create highly-structured, insightful processes, systems and recommendations with a data-driven approach; and, alongside senior executives, critique and modify the operational components of the company model.
    Manage a diverse support team including customer care, quality assurance, IT, programme managers, procurement, warehousing and logistics.

    Requirements

    At least 8+ years of post-undergraduate, full time work experience
    Work experience managing a multi-unit retail environment
    Work experience developing and managing a culture of total focus on customer satisfaction
    Work experience drastically improving the productivity and reducing cost of a product or service
    Work experience managing and coordinating several teams to deliver on a tight schedule
    Work experience in emerging markets
    Record of building data-driven operational systems
    Record of strong academic performance from a leading undergraduate and, if attended, graduate institution
    Work experience, preferably in operations, as an employee at any company that has rapidly grown in headcount and number of locations, e.g., large scale retail
    Work experience in a highly political industry, where ideological conflict is common and strategy, ingenuity, negotiation and persuasion are necessary for success
    Experience of management consulting a plus

    Job Summary
    Reporting to the Technical Advisor, VMMC , coordinates all social mobilization and demand creation strategies and activities within the three Counties and to ensure that the set MC targets for the teams are shared out and achieved within expected time frame .
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Overseeing the development, management and implementation of an evidence-based mobilization strategies for VMMC program.
    Use innovative methods of formative research and social marketing to ensure every mobilization and demand creation strategy is appropriate to the target population.
    Develop, together with mobilization officers, subcounty specific mobilization strategies for continuous VMMC/EIMC client flow and provide technical support to the Mobilization officers.
    Develop and monitor implementation of the VMMC demand creation workplans.
    Supervise the financial monthly demand creation/mobilization expenditure and ensures timely liquidation and compliance to the approved budget.
    Collaborate with PEPFAR funded social-marketing organizations to ensure a comprehensive approach to mobilization and demand creation.
    Determine the necessary IEC/ BCC messages required and coordinate with other national and county MC communications working groups to ensure messages and materials developed are relevant.
    Participate in the national and county VMMC communications working group to ensure harmonized coordination of messages with other partners.
    Provide technical assistance to the subcounty Mobilization officers with planning and facilitation of training on VMMC mobilization strategies using the key messages developed by the national &county technical workgroups on VMMC demand creation models.
    Oversee training and mentorship of mobilization team including evaluation of the performance of demand creation department.
    Ensure adoption and compliance to national VMMC strategy on communication and mobilization
    Prepares monthly VMMC demand creation budget, monthly summary operations report and quarterly comprehensive operations report
    Any other official duties assigned by the VMMC Technical advisor or Program Director.

    Qualifications (Preferred)

    Degree in Social or Health Sciences or Community development.
    At least 4 years of experience in coordinating VMMC social mobilization and demand creation activities
    Masters in social sciences or public health is an added advantage
    Demonstrable achievement in VMMC.

    Main Purpose Of The Role:

    Managing and developing the business at a strategic level within the organisation with key modern trade customers and to work in partnership with these key accounts to develop the Pernod Ricard brands and optimise profitability.  The Key Account Manager will also need to ensure the successful implementation of the agreed business plans and promotional activities at an operational level.
    Developing and effectively implement the channel strategy, terms and conditions and other global initiatives and/or best practices in the identified key accounts while ensuring the best advantage for each brand / category is achieved profitably.
    Developing and maintaining a clear understanding of developments in the account and exploiting all the opportunities.

    Core Functions:

     Development, Administration and successful execution of the Annual Business (account activity grids / joint business plan) predicated on the Budget goals for the channel and accounts.
     Servicing (includes selling, merchandising, collections, account growth planning and implementation, relations building etc) the key accounts and branches effectively.
    Ensuring continuous improvement in distribution, merchandising, call coverage, efficient resource utilization.

    Job Responsibilities:
    Business Planning and Forecasting

    Developing long term and short term detailed strategic business plans, which include profit forecasts and take the channel strategies into consideration in order to ensure that the business is developed in the respective channels and activities are implemented effectively.
    Ensuring that business plans also focused on the customer’s needs and display both an in-depth understanding of the customer’s business as well as the objectives of OUR CLIENT.
    Presenting business plans both to the clients as well as to relevant internal staff.
    Providing regular reporting – monthly and quarterly reviews with the customers as well as ensuring that there is regular reporting internally.

    Promotional Activity

    Managing promotions from the initiation through to the successful implementation according to the agreed business plan.
    Communicating with the Sales Managers as well as other relevant internal and external parties to ensure that they are aware of the agreed business plan and the monthly and quarterly promotional cycles and work with them to ensure the successful implementation of these plans according to brand strategies.

    Category Management

    Utilising store layout, category development and shopper behaviour to maximise the return on investment.
    Maximising return on investment with measurable objectives with each key account customer according to customised activity plans.
    Ensuring that OUR CLIENT’s range is listed correctly and in line with the profile of the key account customer’s business.
    Liaising with OUR CLIENT Trade Marketing as well as the Marketing and Brand Managers to ensure that activities is in line with OUR CLIENT’s brand strategies.

    Relationship Management

    Developing and maintaining excellent partnership based relationships with the clients, both at their head office level as well as with the client’s store managers at a regional level.
    Regularly visiting regional branches for the various key accounts to develop and maintain relationships with the key stakeholders and optimize any available opportunities.
    Negotiating excellent customer agreements, which manage the commercial aspects of the business plan for both OUR CLIENT and the customer.
    Developing and maintaining excellent internal relationships with the area sales managers and sales representatives and ensure that there is regular communication so that they are clear about what is being planned with the key accounts in their region.
    Developing and maintaining excellent internal relationships with marketing department – both with Trade Marketing and the Marketing and Brand Managers and ensure regular communication.

    Requirements

    Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field.
    Five (5) years’ experience in the FMCG sector, specifically in Key Accounts.
    Ability to motivate and lead 3rd Party contracts (merchandisers).
    Computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite.
    Proficient in use of Excel.
    Experience in using a Sales system.
    A valid driver’s license.
    Able to work independently within set parameters.
    Good negotiation and customer relationship management skills.
    Ability to influence and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
    Good planning and organising skills.
    Excellent oral and written communication skill.
