  • Associate Manager – Regional Sales, Nairobi

    JOB DESCRIPTION 

      SUMMARY 

    Ensure BIC products are sold to customers within the allocated region.
    Achieve monthly sales volume and value targets across all three categories (Stationery, Lighters, and Shavers)
    Ensure effective implementation and execution of the sales and marketing activations.
    Effectively manage third party Sales Team, ensuring that both quantitative and qualitative targets are met.
    Effectively manage Distributor Sales Reps, ensuring that the agreed sales targets, coverage, and Strike rate is achieved.
    Effective implementation of all negotiated promotions during Mini/Major Back to School and Shaver/Lighter promotional periods
    Compiling and submission of required sales operations and market intelligence reports
    Maintain and build solid trade relations with key customers.
    Identify new customers and sales opportunities within the defined Area.
    Identify opportunities to increase numeric and weighted distribution of both existing and new products to Area customer base.
    Understand customer needs and product trends while tracking competitor activity
    Motivate and coach BIC and Distributor sales force to build their capability and capacity
    Initiate and conduct weekly/Monthly Business and performance reviews with the Distributor and the sales teams.
    Ensure weekly sellout data and stock position is submitted every week to the Sales Analyst
    Ensure that BIC products are constantly available and visible in all routes within the allocate region – No RED ZONES(GAPS)

    KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)

    Hold weekly Distributor Sales performance review meetings with clear action points with timelines, with minutes sent to the distributor with a copy to the NSM.
    Achieve 80% of the distributor STRIKE RATE target.
    Manage the BSRs and ensure that they achieve set targets
    Achieve 80% of the OSA target for all merchandised outlets.

    EDUCATION & EXPRIENCE BACKGROUND 

    Bachelor’s degree required (merchandising, sales, marketing or related field)
    10+ years’ experience in the FMCG industry preferred
    Data analysis – ability to assess data sets and identify patterns and opportunities for improvement
    Strong presentation skills – ability to present findings, along with forecasts and projections, to executives and management personnel
    Communication skills – excellent written and verbal communication to work with departments and personnel across teams and business lines
    Team coordination – ability to coordinate team activities and have strong leadership skills
    High level of organization and detail-orientation
    Ability to complete complex and high-pressure tasks
    Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
    Ability to read, analyze and generate reports, market analyses
    General understanding of relevant legislation governing the use of data within the scope of operation

  • Sales Manager

    Job Summary:-

    The Sales Manager will be responsible for effective management and leadership of the Direct Sales Team, ensuring assets & liability targets are achieved, maintained, while supporting the Direct Sales Representatives (DSRs).  Also responsible for managing relations for existing customers brought by the Team & maximizing sales opportunities across the Bank.

    Key Responsibilities: –

    Manage and lead the DSR Team
    Extensively marketing and promoting the Bank’s products & services
    Work with the branch network to ensure compliance with policies and procedures for referred clients.
    Training & Development for DSR Team
    In liaison with the Senior Manager Retail, develop budgets and individual targets for the DSRs and summarize them under the Balanced Score Cards.
    Manage sales pipelines and leads
    Attend to all customers’ queries and advise them where necessary, takeover of escalated client inquiries, contacts and follow-through to conclusive business.
    Assist in organizing promotional events and ensuring attendance by team & target group.
    Write and submit accurate and timely DSR reports to Management including projects & up to date business positions.
    Maintain accurate records of discussions, correspondence and DSR documentation including minutes of meetings.
    Market survey and market intelligence reports for information, planning and to guide management decision; identifying patterns and trends and use the information for process and service development.
    Supervise all DSRs work/ activities.
    Train and prepare performance reports on DSRs; coach, mentor and regularly appraise the DSRs including quarterly and annual appraisals against their Score Cards.
    Assist Branches in following up the new clients to fund the accounts
    Cost management: Claims; travel etc.
    Continually review policies and procedures relating to DSRs
    Organize meetings with DSRs on customer issues or any other issues relating to sales.
    Administration: Leave management; monitoring of attendance, disciplinary matters.

    Key Measurables: –

     Qualifications

    Hold a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field.
    Professional Marketing/Sales qualifications; Banking qualifications a plus.
    Have a minimum of three (3) years relevant work experience in a similar position with proven result-oriented track record.
    Have strong sales, marketing and customer service orientation/experience.
    Experience in banking a plus but not mandatory.

    Personality: A go-getter, energetic, enthusiastic, results oriented with excellent communication and social skills. A forward planner with clear focus, mature, reliable, hardworking and able to work without supervision.
    Sound knowledge of the Bank’s products and services; policies and procedures governing customer accounts.

    Prepare beat plans for KD sales team to ensure effective & efficient coverage of assigned territory with all product categories
    Prospects, negotiates and initiates local actions in line with company policies
    Ensure the availability of the right product assortment at the right channel at the right price.
    Ensure achievement of the Field capability score by meeting targets for coverage, lines per call and bill productivity
    Building capability of distributor sales team through full day sales accompaniment and field coaching.
    Submission of weekly and monthly reports – weekly sales report, ROI and profitability report, working capital analysis report and safety reports

    At least 3 years Sales experience with minimum 2 years in FMCG environment
    Bachelor’s degree in business management or economics
