    Job Description

    Work with CST leadership to construct comprehensive client account plans and manage the client opportunity pipeline, as well as serve as a thought partner on growth strategy for target clients;
    Strengthen relationships with mid-level executives and procurement professionals at client organizations and create opportunities for McKinsey partners and consultants to build on these relationships;
    Create potential opportunities / task orders under existing framework agreements and IDIQs that we have access to by informing the vehicle to country-based clients and providing project concepts and best practices as white papers;
    Gather intelligence about upcoming procurements for which McKinsey might be well suited to compete; Develop opportunity-specific competitive intelligence analysis, along with relative strengths and weaknesses of competitors; Travel to target countries to meet with stakeholders for information gathering as needed;
    Identify partners with whom McKinsey could team up with for emerging procurements, prepare qualifications and corporate capability materials and draft potential scope of work McKinsey can focus on in collaboration with CST leadership and practice leaders, and negotiate McKinsey’s role to finalize teaming agreements.
    Proposal management and delivery (both as a prime and a sub)

    You will:

    Understand the objectives and requirements of the RFP and formulate a view about what it will take for McKinsey to win the procurement;
    Coordinate with team members to ensure key aspects of client intimacy (e.g., salient win themes, relevant hot buttons) resonate through the proposal;
    Translate McKinsey qualifications, approaches and past examples into the client-ready materials;
    Create work plans and align resources to complete the work of drafting high-quality proposals on time, ensuring end-to-end coordination and delivery of proposals;
    Orchestrate communications/visual media specialists to produce high-end proposals. Also, create network of external communication and visual media specialists, to be pulled in on need basis for different proposal situations;
    Write select elements of proposals (e.g., value proposition, positioning vis-à-vis competition, etc.);
    Review proposals at different stages of the drafting process, and help the drafting team make course corrections where necessary. This includes challenging the proposal team and PuSH partners when appropriate;
    Ensure technical compliance of proposals – prepare and own submission of all technical compliance documents (e.g., registration certificates, etc.). Familiarity with the relevant regulations and procurement guidelines are a must;
    Work with PSP support team, CST leadership, and teaming partners to meet all contractual requirements and prepare financial proposals;
    Help the CST partners, consultants and client development advisors to prepare for oral presentations, including counseling colleagues on their objectives during the oral presentations and providing feedback on rehearsals.
    Knowledge codification

    You will:

    Create and maintain a solid repository of ready-to-use ‘standard’ proposal ingredients;
    Codify client development best practices;
    Lead preparation of high-end proposal materials including ‘new-age’ qualification documents, CV books, case studies, videos, references library, etc.
    Contracts debrief: After McKinsey wins or loses procurements, participate in debrief sessions with internal and client personnel to identify opportunities for the CST and PuSH practice to improve

    The primary responsibility is to work alongside the Cytonn Fundraising Team, the Investment Team and Real Estate Team, to lead the efforts in coordinating investment relationships with pension funds, banks, SACCOs, endowment funds and other pools of capital with Cytonn’s alternative investment products.
    The position will afford the individual a unique opportunity to participate in both a strong incentive structure and a clear path to a fulfilling career in Relationship Management.
    Responsibilities

    Proactively develop business relationships and securie additional business opportunities with all local pools of capital, including pension funds, pension administrators, banks, SACCO’s, endowment funds, and other pools of capital
    Strengthen existing relationships with the local Institutions industry, understand their alternative investment needs, and match funds with Cytonn’s Alternative Investment products, among them private equity, real estate and structured products
    Lead a team that will attend prospect and client meetings to make presentations and understand requirements of various institutions, and relay feedback on the best investment offering
    Manage all relationships, including banks, SACCO’s, pension funds, endowment funds, and others, and ensure that all pools of capital have been contacted, follow-up is regular and efficient, all required documents have been provided, and all open discussions are closed out
    Identify opportunities for product development, and other product offerings that are in line with requirements of local institutions, and work with the Fundraising, Investment and Real Estate Teams to put together investment offerings and required documents for each set of investors
    Develop and recommend to the Management and Board Investment Committee long and short-term plans to achieve the company objectives and goals in local Institutions partnership
    Communicate information about alternative investment offerings and partnership areas to local Institutions through meetings, workshops, websites, social media, newsletters etc.
    Identify opportunities for product development, and other product offerings that best conform with requirements of pools of capital, such as RBA requirements
    Carry out training for local institutions (e.g. Pension Trustees, SACCO’s, etc.) on Cytonn Investments, Cytonn Real Estate, and alternative investments opportunities to promote partnerships and synergies
    Develop a strong team, through running an internship programme, and hiring experienced hires

    Requirements

    At least 5 years’ experience in the local institutions industry. Experience in a bank, fund manager, or any such local institution focused on financial services will be an added advantage
    Must have achieved at least a B+ in KCSE or equivalent in high school
    An undergraduate degree with a minimum 2nd Class, Upper Division
    Ability to manage all stakeholders at all levels within an organisation
    Strong communication skills (both written and oral)

    Customers: Geographical Area as defined

    Ensure effective and efficient distribution of the four focus categories. Body, Deodorant, Jelly and Soap. They should be available in the entire region.
    Visit Customers on a regular basis (As per detailed itinerary). Customer visits include to Wholesalers, Key Accounts, and Mass Market.
    Set in-store standards and provide training and guidance for the achievement thereof.
    Present and agree the approved Customer Plan, covering all business requirements i.e. Sale Development (Turnover); Store Standards, Promotional Activity, Product assortment.
    Supply accurate and updated information on orders to Customer service.

    Team Interaction:

    Present ideas on activities/ promotions to the Field Sales Manager for approval prior to implementation
    Send detailed sales monthly reports. The report should include Customer visits for the period, stock issues, competitive price positioning for the 4-main categories, Activities for the month, competitor activity, issues in the market, solutions to the issues and shelf off take of the top ten outlets in each category.
    Report and recommend ways to reduce levels of grey imports and counterfeits if any. Assist the team in providing information on the same.
    Sales vs. Target and explanation on deviations; the company’s Promotional implementation (i.e. Postering, trade offers, Mall Activations, Store Specific Promo`s etc.); Competitor Activity (ATL/BTL).
    Train Whole seller representatives. Inform on products merchandising and sales skills, market Review and define action plans for reps activities and support important negotiations.
    When involved in a project, supply frequent updated information to the team on the ground and to the Field Sales Manager.

    Pricing

    Manage recommended prices in trade.
    The brand should not be below competition.
    Communicate all pricing (ongoing and promotional) to all distributors on a frequent basis to ensure everybody is aware of the pricing, and can maximize any promotional activity.
    Communicate on competitor pricing.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. Minimum O-Level formal education (acquired through secondary school).
    Ability to persuade and influence others. Ability to develop and deliver presentations. Ability to create, composes, and edits written materials. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques. This is normally acquired through a combination of the completion of Sales / Marketing Diploma with 2 years Sales or Marketing experience /Bachelor’s Degree and 1 Year of sales or marketing experience.
    Visibility requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public.
    Work requires significant local travel to current and potential clients. This requires the possession of a valid state driver’s license within 60 days of employment.
    Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and occasional overnight travel.
