    Duties and Responsibilities
    An officer at this level will work under supervision of a Senior Pharmacist. Duties and responsibilities will include: screening prescriptions for legal validity, drug contradictions, drug interactions, appropriateness of dose, frequency and duration of dosing and patience convenience; preparing and dispensing medicines according to Good Dispensing Practices and counseling patients on medicine use; making extemporaneous preparations; participating in ward rounds;
    identifying medicinal gaps and challenges; maintaining daily activity log book for recording all activities undertaken; recommending Over the County (OTC) medicines to patients/clients with simple medical conditions and making necessary referrals; making entries into the relevant inventory management records and registers.

    Requirements for Appointment
    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

    Bachelors of Pharmacy Degree from an institution recognized by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
    Successfully completed One (1) year internship from a recognized institution.
    Registration Certificate by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board;
    Certificate in Computer Application Skills.
    Satisfy the requirements of chapter six of the constitution.

    Job Summary
    The position holder in liaison with the Facility in charge is responsible for ensuring that the hospital has drugs at all times. They are required to maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugs in the pharmacy.
    Key Responsibilities

    Order and receive drugs and other medical supplies on behalf of the hospital and always maintain inventory of medical supplies and monitor their flow. Also assist in the drug and consumables supply chain management to ensure that essential drugs are available in the pharmacy at all times.
    Co-ordinate and liaise with clinicians and other health care providers in ensuring rational use of drugs and other medical consumables.
    Maintain records and filling prescriptions and always maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
    Accurately and efficiently preparing prescription orders by verifying prescription information and dosage.

    Responsibilities

    Scrutinizes Patient Treatment Sheets and Prescriptions for suitability of prescribed drugs in relation to dosing accuracy, drug interaction and route of administration Provide drug information to patients, doctors, nurses and other medical staff.
