    Job purpose
    Providing leadership in the management, use and control of pharmaceuticals in the hospital and to work with all stakeholders (doctors and other care givers) in ensuring efficient, ethical and safe application of pharmaco-therapy in patient management.
    Responsibilities

    Overseeing safe dispensing procedures and ensuring safe drug use processes (drug administration and monitoring of drug effects)
    Actively participating in drug-use-reviews (DUR) by advising prescribers on rational and optimal pharmacological drug effects and by conducting appropriate patient
    Participating in clinical rounds
    Participating in antimicrobial stewardship initiatives
    Safe and accurate drug preparation techniques (aseptic IV admixtures, High alert drug handling)
    Promoting service excellence and client satisfaction:
    Proactively engaging in follow up of client concerns and timely
    Ensuring efficient pharmacy service flow by managing turn-around-times.
    Formulating and implementing quality related projects
    Reviewing and implementing quality processes and procedures
    Effective stock monitoring for optimal stock levels
    Stock variance reporting and control
    Preparation and timely submission of expected reports such as medication error report, interventions, stock variance and client satisfaction
    Serve as oncology focal liaison officer for Appropriate Medicines Use/Medicines and Therapeutics Committee
    Ensure that all biologic and oncology preparations are prepared and dispensed in an accurate and safe manner to all patients
    Prepare and implement oncology pharmaceutical services Annual Operating Plans (AOPs)

    Qualifications

    Practical experience in oncology pharmacy is required
    Bachelor of Pharmacy from a recognized institution
    Registration Certificate and Practice License from Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
    3 years’ work experience in a busy hospital.
    Certification in procurement will be an added advantage  Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

    Responsibilities

    Receive, verify prescriptions and dispense drugs in a timely manner within approved standards and procedures.
    Contact the physician immediately for inaccuracy and illegibility in a prescription order, document errors and communicate them to the nursing and pharmacy staff
    Verify expiry dates of drugs prior to dispensing medication to patients/customers.
    Check that every label placed on the medications contains the correct patient name, drug, quantity and directions.
    Compound extemporaneous preparations and mix certain intravenous medications as per laid down procedures.
    Counsel patients on drug administration and use of devices for optimum wellness and recovery.
    Receive, return and update drug credits on the system in a timely manner.
    Deliver drug discharges to patients in the ward where applicable
    Communicate out of stock and non-stock effectively and timely to prescriber and nurse and provide alternative choice or make arrangements to order promptly.
    Comply and observe the environmental health and safety measures and regulations by proper handling, storage and dispensation of medications
    Record, monitor and update the expiry list of medications in timely manner.
    Conduct nursing floor inspections once a month for all ward stock, solutions and patient medication left behind
    Complete documentation of Interventions, Medication errors and Near Miss, Adverse events, Medication queries, Patient complaints or any other incidents and forward to relevant office
    Perform random medication checks daily and Monitor variance levels in your respective satellites.
    Compile daily satellite reports.
    Carry out regular satellite stock-take exercise.
    Report any special indicators allocated.
    Maintain and update personal drug knowledge data base to ensure accurate provision of pharmaceutical care of general disease states as well as specialized knowledge in the assigned area of expertise
    Participate in educational activities and departmental meetings. 

    Requirements

    Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution
    Practicing License from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board
    Computer literate
    Able to communicate with medical professionals
    Able to work with a team of people from various backgrounds and training
    Excellent customer service skills and empathetic to patients of all ages
    Good interpersonal skills
    Culturally sensitive
    Able to keep up with pharmaceutical developments and Continuous Medical Education programmes

    The Job
    As a Regulatory Affairs Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising Regulatory Affairs applications related to Product Life Cycle Management (LCM) and/or New Drug Approvals (NDA) in West and Central Africa and provide support as required for Middle Africa. Develop, review and update labelling and ensure RA compliance in promotional material according to local legislation and Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs).

    Monitor the regulatory environment and ensure compliance. Interact constantly with Health Authorities (HAs) to ensure timely submissions, track approvals, detect regulatory trends, and keep up to date with legislation at the affiliate. Maintain close interaction with local external stakeholders through an active presence in pharmaceutical associations and similar forums.
    Coordinate and supervise Regulatory Affairs applications related to NDA and LCM. Assess registration files, ensuring compliance of file content to regulatory requirements. Handle HAs or agents’ requests and demands on quality, clinical and non-clinical information according to NNAS standards/SOPs.
    Provide regulatory support and insight to key stakeholders. Contribute to shaping Novo Nordisk’s position on local HA proposals and guidance to provide the company’s input on regulatory initiatives. Help Affiliate RA manager to disseminate intelligence to relevant groups within Regulatory Affairs/CMR and other functions at a local level.
    Provide advice and recommendations to the local RA Manager at the local level on regulatory policy and applicable strategy to accelerate regulatory approvals while securing compliance. Ensure inspection and audit readiness for the RA unit in terms of archiving and documentation in place

    Qualifications

    You have a relevant academic degree, preferably in bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or other related Pharmaceutical Sciences / biomedical sciences with a minimum of 5 years working experience as a Regulatory Affairs Specialist in a multinational company covering West and Central Africa.
    A Master’s degree in Pharmacy / Biomedical Sciences / Business Administration is a plus.

    The Position
    As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will ensure that the NN Quality System as well as local regulations are always implemented in Middle Africa and maintained according to corporate guidelines and products and business processes meet NN and local quality standards. You will also follow-up and ensure closure of audit findings issued during HQ and local audits.
    The responsibilities will also include

    Training and communicating the QMS throughout the local affiliate organization, and distributing Quality Docs (SOP) updates to affiliate employees and maintenance of Quality Docs List
    Tracking of local quality laws and requirements in the affiliate also assisting review of the list of NN Procedures, QA approval, uploading local procedures in Quality Docs (SOPs), making reviews and updates of local procedures in Quality Docs as applicable. Distributes Quality Docs (SOP) updates to affiliate employees and maintenance of Quality Docs (SOP) List.
    Act as the Local GxP records Manager in maintaining status for documents in Archiving system for the affiliate. Serve as the affiliate Change Request and Deviations Expert on NovoGlow, and be responsible for preparation of QMR input and minutes of meeting with identified action points.
    Serve as lead auditor responsible for local distributor audits. Track the local quality laws and external requirements in countries. Ensure the distribution of the updated procedures (SOPs) to distributors before effective date

    Qualifications

    You hold a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, pharmaceutical related studies, or medical sciences with a minimum of 3-5 years working experience in the similar position. A Master’s degree is a plus. You have excellent command over both written and spoken English. Further sought-after skills are:
