    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
    The Human Rights Monitor will be expected to undertake the following tasks;

    Attend a mandatory training to be conducted by KNCHR on specified date(s).
    Use the monitoring tools provided by KNCHR to collect factual information on Human Rights violations in the assigned county.
    Follow up and report on any human rights violations in the assigned county.
    Attend campaign forums in a bid to gather information in relation to human rights compliance and violations.
    Furnish the Commission with reports on the status of human rights in the assigned county on specified timelines.
    Keep in safe custody equipment and/or materials provided by the KNCHR for use in the project and return them to the designated officer upon the conclusion of the project or on demand.
    Assist and accompany the KNCHR team visiting the Monitor’s assigned county during planned or unplanned missions.
    Submit a final report in relation to human rights compliance of the respective county at the end of the contract period.
    Perform any other duty as may be assigned.

    Requirements

    Diploma, Higher National Diploma or Degree in Social Sciences, paralegal studies or any other related field.
    A minimum of one (1) year active experience in the field of human rights, research or social work
    Resident in one of the identified counties of interest.
    Good understanding of the local languages in addition to English and Kiswahili.
    Excellent written, oral and IT skills, with working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Tools.
    A good understanding of the political and social dynamics of the respective county.
    Capacity to engage local leaders, security officials, elders, youth and women on issues relating to human rights and electoral processes
    Good etiquette and strong interpersonal skills.
    Past role in monitoring electoral skills will be an added advantage.

    Duration
    The initial contract period will be for a period of Six (6) months
    Allowance
    The position attracts a monthly allowance of Kenya Shillings 35,000/= that shall cover the monitor’s transport needs, meals and communication.

    Experience

    Qualifications

    This role will suit someone with over 5 years’ experience in similar roles.

    Essential Requirements

    Proven experience in the delivery of bid documents including; marketing documents, prequalification questionnaires, tenders and presentations.
    Ideally this experience should be gained within a similar organisation.
    Pro-active and approachable – well organised, innovative and a strong communicator.
    Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
    The ability to learn new procedures quickly and liaise with clients and staff on many different levels.
    The role holder must have experience taking responsibility for managing their work and working with minimal supervision to achieve the outcomes required for the team.
    English language – must be fluent in both written and spoken English.

    Program / Department Summary
    Mercy Corps will begin implementation of its Mitigating Election Violence through Social Media project as part of a broader election violence prevention and mitigation program which will work to promote peaceful elections in Kenya by strengthening stakeholders’ capacity to prevent and mitigate election violence and contribute to a peaceful political transition around the August 2022 elections. The project will engage and mobilize community capacities for peacebuilding, conflict mitigation and civic participation, strengthen the response capability of government-led institutions and facilitate improved coordination and collaboration between and among community, county and national-level stakeholders. The project is grounded in the belief that the empowerment of local actors, through systematic, participatory and inclusive processes, are the most sustainable, impactful and effective at preventing conflict and promoting peace.
    Mercy Corps with its technology partner, under the Mitigating Election Violence through Social Media project, proposes to expand investment in researching the impact and outcomes of utilizing micro-level social media influencers to facilitate positive behavior change within the digital space, especially as relates to the upcoming elections, which have significant potential for violence and conflict. This evaluation, including on-going measurement of sentiment analysis before, and following, the campaigns will provide Mercy Corps with insight into the effectiveness of these campaigns in a peacebuilding context.
    General Position Summary
    The Measurement, Learning & Technology Officer is a key member of the program team and will report to the Program Manager. She/he will provide day-to-day support to the program team in the identification of the learning and evaluation needs and opportunities.  The position holder will develop learning and measurement activity ideas and will implement, monitor and report progress.
    Essential Job Responsibilities
    PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION

    Support technology partner to work with key online influencers to drive behavior change through campaigns.
    Drawing on state of the art research on digital peacebuilding, including Mercy Corps sources, generate and document insights into how to design and focus peace campaigns built on behavioral, sentiment, and psychographic analysis.
    Continuously ensure that the implementing partner is carrying out social media analytics and sentiments to align the communication strategies and messages and reporting the same to the program manager.
    Ensure influencers have the support and access to resources/content to both promote positive engagement within social media as well as to actively mitigate and/or counter content inciting violence or harassment.
    Researching and documenting the impact and outcomes of the influencer-led interventions.
    In consultation with the technology implementing partner, measure sentiment analysis before, and following, the campaigns to provide Mercy Corps with insights and evidence into the effectiveness of campaigns in a peacebuilding context.
    Support with project implementation, including attending learning activities and events in the targeted locations and virtually.
    Identify needs and opportunities and provide relevant information and learnings to facilitate the program team’s ability to develop activity and further learning ideas.
    Under the direction of the Program Manager, develop and maintain relationships with organizations/ actors in key target sectors (e.g., private sector, CBOs / local NGOs, local government officials, security officials etc.).

    RESULTS MEASUREMENT, ANALYSIS AND REPORTING
    In conjunction with the country & program-level monitoring and evaluation team:

    Play a key role in the development and review of intervention designs, sector strategies and M&E frameworks.
    Design and maintain all program information databases in conjunction with the program MEL Officer, ensuring monthly backup of program files.
    Receive and ensure proper tracking of all documents/data submitted by the technology partner.
    Ensure that data received from staff is entered into databases within 7 days of receipt and submitted to the Manager according to agreed schedules.
    Produce ad hoc reports generated from databases according to the needs of the program.
    Integrate community approaches, gender sensitivity and capacity building into all activities as appropriate.
    Create and maintain systems ensuring effective and transparent use of grant resources for timely and informative reporting in line with donor and Mercy Corps policies and procedures.
    Fulfill Mercy Corps’ Program Management Minimum Standards based on the organization-wide guide.
    Ensure all interventions adhere to Mercy Corps’ Gender Policy, Do No Harm principles, and beneficiary accountability standards.
    Work with partner to undertake baseline research for sentiment analysis.
    Design online and offline surveys in collaboration with partner to measure impact of interventions.
    Validating and verifying core indicators against the different sources of information by taking part in regular data quality assessment.
    Work with Program Manager to ensure that learning and measurement activities are implemented on plan and progress towards targets is not compromised.
    Meet regularly with the program team to evaluate project progress, identify, and document successes, best practices, human interest stories, challenges and lessons-learned; and adjust practices as necessary to improve performance.
    Prepare and submit to the program reports of specific periods, events, field trips and meetings.
    Support the team in effectively utilizing established monitoring and evaluation formats / tools and provide feedback for their improvement.
    Support timely production of quarterly and annual donor reports based on agreed performance indicators.

    PROGRAM ADVISORY

    Maintain an active advisory role with the program team to help guide towards robust and relevant data for decision making.
    Actively participate in all implementations, providing advice and feedback for quality results at any point.
    Establish and maintain strong working relationships with partners and government departments.

    RESEARCH AND LEARNING

    Take part in conflict analysis, research and learning activities, in conjunction with other relevant team members.
    Prepare practical reports for dissemination based on experiences from program implementation.
    Together with the program implementation team, generate key learnings and evidence about the program’s implementation and approaches.
    Regularly document and share all learnings from program implementation.
    Support maintenance of an up-to-date database that reflects progress and program indicators.

    PATH’s Center for Vaccine Innovation and Access (CVIA) brings together our expertise across every stage of the long and complex process of vaccine research, development, and delivery to make lifesaving vaccines widely available to children and communities across the world. CVIA’s current portfolio encompasses more than two dozen vaccines either in development or already in use to protect against 15 different diseases. Our focus is on vaccines to address the leading diseases that claim children’s lives worldwide: pneumonia, diarrheal disease, and malaria; as well as other global health priorities, such as COVID-19, HPV, polio, and meningitis. We work in partnership with national health ministries, pharmaceutical manufacturers, donors, international financing and regulatory organizations, and many others.
    This senior staff position in East Africa will work within Policy, Access, and Introduction (PAI) functional area of CVIA and will report to the Africa Team Lead for Vaccine Implementation. In addition, in keeping with PATH’s collaborative matrix structure, this person will have a “dotted line” of reporting to the East Africa Regional Hub and Kenya Country Director to ensure effective integration into PATH’s regional presence in Kenya and throughout East Africa. The person in this position will focus on new vaccine introduction, system strengthening for routine immunization, technical assistance, post- vaccine introduction evaluations, and strategic planning. To be successful the person will need strong communication and collaboration skills, with connections to key stakeholders including the Kenya Ministry of Health (especially NVIP/EPI), UN agencies (e.g. WHO, UNICEF), other INGOs working on vaccines and immunizations, and local implementing organizations.
    The current needs of this position are to lead or support projects related to the roll-out of COVID-19 vaccinations, malaria vaccine introduction, Typhoid vaccine introduction, adoption of new immunization data systems, and technical assistance to strengthen national and county routine immunization programs.
     Key Duties and Responsibilities:
    New vaccine introduction:

    Coordinate, plan, and provide key stakeholders with technical support, training, and guidance for new vaccine introduction, including COVID-19, Typhoid, and malaria. Support MOH in evaluating introduction activities and progress.
    Provide assistance as requested by MOH or other stakeholders for completing funding applications to Gavi and/or other donors.
    Develop curricula and provide training and education of health care workers, community-based organizations, and other partners to support vaccine service delivery.

    Routine immunization system strengthening

    At national and subnational levels, contribute to strengthening national and county-level capacity for planning (especially microplanning), developing, and implementing programs to increase vaccine coverage, and to assure equitable distribution of vaccines.
    Work with PATH colleagues, MOH, and other partners to integrate where possible routine immunization into primary health care services.
    Support the demonstration, evaluation, and scale-up of digital health tools and platforms.

    Communications and stakeholder relations

    Represent and serve as a primary technical liaison with MOH NVIP staff, relevant global stakeholders (e.g., WHO, UNICEF, Gavi) and other professional, research and academic institutions in Kenya and other East Africa countries. Collect and disseminate scientific and public health information on vaccines, through presentations to congresses, scientific sessions, groups of medical professionals, and various advisory groups.

    Required Experience

    Masters in Public Health with extensive experience in immunizations, epidemiology, or public health
    Minimum 10 years’ experience in medical affairs or public health aspects of vaccine delivery
    Significant experience working with MOH NVIP, Gavi, WHO, UNICEF, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and other international organizations promoting vaccination
    Experience with new vaccine introduction is a must
    Proficiency in English and regionally appropriate languages
    Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
    Strong interpersonal skills. Collaborative and able to build effective partnerships (internally and externally)

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    Required Qualifications:

    Essential Responsibilities

    Help students with issues such as bullying, disabilities, low self-esteem, and poor academic performance and relationship troubles.
    Listen to students’ concerns about academic, emotional or social problems
    Help students process their problems and plan goals and action
    Mediate conflict between students and teachers.
    Teach guidance classes and provides guidance counseling to students through planned activities in small group or classroom settings to convey social, and important school information.
    Consult, facilitate, and maintain communication with parents, teachers, administrators, and pertinent agents on specific student and parent academic and educational matters including academic modifications and/or accommodations.
    Improve parent/teacher relationships
    Facilitate drug and alcohol prevention programs and sensitize the parents on GBV.
    Organize peer counseling programs
    Refer students to psychologists and other mental health resources.
    Evaluate students’ abilities, interests and personalities to help them develop realistic academic and career goals
    Demonstrate the effectiveness of the school counseling program in measurable terms,
    Report on immediate, intermediate and long-range results showing how students are different as a result of the school counseling program.
    Use data to show the impact of the school counseling program on school improvement and student achievement.
    Conduct school counseling program audits to guide future action and improve future results for all students. The performance of the professional school counselor is evaluated on basic standards of practice expected of professional school counselors implementing a school counseling program
    Intervene during crisis situations and participate on school crisis team

    System Support

    Guides, coordinates and supports other school staff in implementing school wide advisory programs.
    Uses responsive counseling strategies to establish relationships and collaborate with educators, students, families, and community partners which reflect recognition of and respect for each individual. And promotes an understanding and appreciation of diverse population and cultures.
    Assists families in obtaining services for their children through an appropriate referral and follow-up process.
    Assists teachers in understanding their students, including providing and interpreting student data.
    Provides in-service training on topics related to the school counseling program and supporting student achievement

    Accountability

    Conducts at minimum a yearly program audit to review the extent and quality of counseling program implementation.
    Prepares and submits a variety of requested reports and data, to ensure fulfillment of established program requirements.
    Uses all available data, including academic grades, discipline referrals and attendance data, to identify students in need and to deliver services.

    Academic Qualifications

    A Bachelor’s degree in Counselling, Psychology or a higher diploma in Counselling
    Experience in the provision of psychosocial services to vulnerable community children

    Professional Qualifications

    Good report writing and communication skills
    A team player with ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    Ability to maintain professionalism in services delivery and ethics
    Experience in case management including management of case conferences

    Associate, Quality Assurance / HSE

    Seeking a quality professional whose technical expertise and knowledge of quality systems will support the DJBOSS mission. Candidate will optimize project execution by ensuring services meet the established standards of quality including reliability, usability and performance. Implements health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and guidelines for the employee and department safety. Creates incident reports and performs inspections to ensure conformity in all areas of HSE. Interacts with services personnel, clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to research and interpret standards, codes and regulations. Determines requisite for and organizes audits of company operated properties. Keeps informed of regulatory requirements and auditing standards. Assists in development and implementation of systems and standards to facilitate the capturing and analysis of HSE statistics. Under direct supervision, performs routine assignments as an entry level professional. Develops core job competencies with existing procedures by solving standard problems. Other HSE related tasks as assigned by leadership. Reports directly to the Quality and HSE Manager. Typically requires an undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree. Previous HSE experience is a plus.

    Additional Requirements

    Must have completed minimum of OSHA 10-hour training or equivalent
    Must be fluent in English
    Must possess a driver’s license
    Administrative and logistics duties – records, travel, MEDEVACs

    Responsibilities Will Include

    Support the quality management program and help improve the customer journey by employing quality oversight techniques, quality training, statistical methods, assessments and other quality tools.
    Ensure that work condition requirements are met by creating audit/inspection reports and making recommendations/presentations to management for corrective/preventive actions.
    Implement performance evaluation and prediction methods to improve the safety, reliability and maintainability of product systems and services.
    Validate contractually required standards for project execution and verify that those standards are met for every deliverable.
    Align quality management function with product/service performance needs to ensure that product/service lines deliver value to customers.
    Analyze and solve complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of field and value-added practices.
    Use experience and problem-solving skills to develop and improve processes.
    Provide guidance to less experienced team members across all levels of the project, as needed.

    Education And Experience

    Bachelor’s degree preferred
    years quality auditing and inspection experience (industry specific experience is a plus)
    Certifications are an advantage including ASQ, Lean and Six Sigma, Project Management, etc.
    Experience with the implementation of corrective and preventive action programs
    In-depth knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of Quality Management
    In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio)

    Additional Requirements

    Must be fluent in English
    Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 12 months of remaining validity AND with at least 4 blank visa/stamp pages remaining
    Must possess driver’s license with at least 6 months of remaining validity
