    The project will

    Candidates must have a Master’s degree in a relevant field and at least seven (7) years of experience leading MEL activities, including maintaining databases, provide training to local partners, and contributing to adaptive management and learning; experience in conflict or post-conflict settings; and prior USAID experience.

    Appointment: The appointment will be made by the Secretary-General of IMO in accordance with IMO procedures.
    Special condition: This vacancy is open only to nationals of Kenya.
    The International Maritime Organisation (IMO), Headquartered in London, is a specialised agency of the United Nations with global responsibility for the technical regulation of maritime transport. The Organisation also provides machinery for cooperation among Governments. The Council of IMO approved the establishment of a scheme for the promotion of IMO’s Regional Presence in selected developing regions, as a strategy of facilitating IMO’s input into national and regional development policies and providing active field-level participation in the development and execution of IMO’s Integrated Technical Cooperation Programme (ITCP). The Government of the Republic of Kenya and UNDP have offered to support the operations of IMO’s regional presence for East and Southern Africa.     Duties and Responsibilities
    This Will Include, Inter Alia

    The incumbent will report to the Geographical Focal Point (GFP) under the immediate supervision of the Director, Technical Cooperation Division, and will undertake any duties assigned to him/her in connection with IMO’s Integrated Technical Cooperation Programme (ITCP).
    To identify maritime needs and priorities in conjunction with the relevant countries, institutions or networks for subsequent review and consideration by the GFP for integration into the ITCP;
    To plan, coordinate in conjunction with the Principal Programme Assistant and ensure the delivery of IMO’s ITCP in the subregion under the direct supervision of the GFP;
    To cooperate in capacity building programmes so as to achieve national/subregional execution of projects in the maritime sector;
    To promote IMO’s technical competence, experience and comparative advantage during the formulation of country-specific United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) through active participation in the UN Country Teams (UNCT) activities with a view to aligning the delivery of the ITCP with relevant programmes in collaboration with UNDP
    To assist in identifying potential funding sources at bilateral and multilateral levels;
    Promote IMO’s Country Maritime Profiles (CMP) as a tool for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda, and its alignment with national policies and strategies taking into account cross-cutting issues, UNCT’s work and the work of UNDAF;
    To identify and establish good working relationships with key organizations and individuals in the subregion that deal with IMO and other maritime matters;

    Other Skills

    Objectives of the Training
    Act! intends to conduct a Women and CVE training at the Coast targeting SCORE partner organizations. The main objective of the training is to enhance the technical capacities of the sub-awardees in understanding and effectively programming on women, girls and CVE in the coastal region of Kenya.
    Specific objectives of the training include:

    To take stock of the current trends and dynamics on women, girls and CVE in Kenya and the coastal region in particular.
    To find out and discuss the vulnerability of women and girls to recruitment into radical and extremist groups like Al-Shabaab.
    To establish how women can contribute to the prevention of radicalization and CVE in the coastal region of Kenya through early detection and other means.
    To help the participants (and the organizations) improve their programming around women, girls and CVE.
    To equip the participants with analytical skills that will help them tell their stories (success stories) regarding women and CVE better.

    Deliverables and key tasks
    The assignment will be conducted through the successful implementation of the following tasks;

    Develop content for the training outlining topics to be covered and the objectives of each session;
    Conduct training for SCORE sub-awardees on Women & CVE;
    Compile a training report highlighting the lessons learnt, post training evaluation findings and facilitator’s observations and recommendations.

    4. Key Qualifications
    The successful consultant trainer will be required to have:

    Post graduate qualifications in Conflict Studies; qualifications in gender studies will be an added advantage.
    Extensive experience in P/CVE and gender programming and work.
    Experience in designing and facilitating P/CVE and gender trainings.
    Ability to work under a tight schedule and deliver good quality reports.

    The NRC Horn of Africa & Yemen mission is an expanding programme. NRC started its operations in Kenya in the refugee camps in Dadaab in February 2007.     The position will oversee the overall design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems and procedures and ensure that all aspects of M&E system are adhered to.

    Terre des Hommes Netherlands (TdH-NL) in East Africa is looking for a Technical Advisor Child Protection, full time, to be based in Nairobi (Kenya), with frequent travel within the region.
    General Characteristics
    The Technical Advisor is a position aimed at advising on child rights and child protection policy matters and providing evidence based input for programme development within the organisation. Our work focuses on the issue of child exploitation, with four key programme themes centered around: (1) the Worst Forms of Child Labour; (2) (Commercial) Sexual Exploitation of Children; (3) Child Trafficking and Migration; (4) Child Abuse / Child Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights. TdH-NL also provides humanitarian aid, with a focus on protecting children and their families in emergency situations.
    We address child exploitation through five strategies: prevention of the worst forms of child exploitation; provision of services to ensure safe reintegration of child victims; prosecution of those who perpetrate crimes against children; promotion of a safe and conducive social/economic/legal context for children; and partnership & participation to strengthen civil society in the promotion of children’s rights and to include meaningful participation of children.
    Objective of the function
    Terre des Hommes Netherlands has the ambition to become the Centre of Excellence Against Child Exploitation. The Technical Advisor will profile Terre des Hommes Netherlands as an expert organisation in the fight against it.
    The Technical Advisor is responsible for advising on child rights and child protection policy matters. To this end, the position holder acts as an expert contact point for both internal and external bodies.
    The Technical Advisor will work towards expanding the TdH-NL portfolio of child protection programming globally, with a special focus on child trafficking and migration, as well as TdH-NL’s other core themes , and will ensure all child protection programming is of excellent technical quality. He/she will ensure that all child protection programmes contribute significantly to Terre des Hommes Netherlands’ strategic objectives, national/global learning and advocacy.     ABOUT THE JOB
    The purpose of this post is to provide day to day management and psychosocial support and related activities in Kalobeyei. In particular, the person is responsible for addressing mental health needs of SGBV survivors and Persons of Concern. In collaboration with the GBV Psychosocial Officer, S/he will be in charge of the provision of training and supervision of the GBV Para-Counselors, to respond to cases of GBV in the camp and ensure effective case management. S/he will work and liaise closely with the GBV Officer, GBV Assistant on documentation of program activities as per the donor requirements.
    YOUR MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Case Management

    Provide comprehensive psychosocial counseling to SGBV survivors focused on the survivor centered case management approach.
    Provide assessment and counseling both at individual and group level as the situation demands.
    Ensure all work with SGBV survivors is confidential and that ethical practices are observed.
    Document client data accurately in the intake forms and ensure they are under lock and key.
    Ensure that the GBVIMS is accurately updated on a regular basis.
    Participate in the interpretation of the analyzed data on trends and work with GBV Team Leader to disseminate information to all relevant stakeholders.
    Participate in the development of the case management monitoring tools and systems and ensure that all staffs that are required to utilize it are trained on the correct way of handling the systems.
    Participate in the preparation of accurate reports for all Psycho-social related activities.

    Coordination and Networking

    Maintain and strengthen existing networks through other service providers at the camp level, to ensure that survivors receive quality services and support both at the agency levels.
    Actively participate in scheduled meetings such as the Case Conferences and SGBV inter-agency meetings.
    Identify new networks to work with to ensure wholesome support to the clients.
    Work in close collaboration with the GBV officer and GBV assistants to ensure ongoing needs of at-risk groups, women and girls are being met in the prevention related activities.
    Strengthen existing referral systems and networks of psychosocial service providers
    In collaboration with other partners, design psychosocial interventions within the refugee community focusing on the psychosocial needs of adults, youth and children.
    Assist in development of referral networks between partners implementing GBV and implementation of referral pathways.
    Participate in conducting trainings for partners on relevant organizational development areas and support peer learning between DRC and other partner agencies.

    Community Engagement and Outreach

    Conduct sensitization, dialogue and mediation sessions with the wider population about issues of trauma and SGBV.
    Facilitate formation of support groups for survivors of SGBV and other vulnerable groups.
    Identify and strengthen Community structures through engaging community leaders, camp management and other stakeholders to ensure that the survivors receive adequate support at the community level.
    Support the GBV officer and GBV assistants, in dissemination of relevant information during the Community SGBV prevention forums and meetings.

    Monitoring and Evaluation

    Assist in preparing daily, monthly, quarterly and annual reports, progress notes, and treatment plans on time
    Use appropriate data collection tools and submit assessments and reports in a timely and accurate manner
    Work closely with the refugee staff to ensure quality reporting
    Assist in the designing, planning, implementing and facilitating of external trainings for numerous target groups
    Ensure Core Humanitarian Standards are mainstreamed in the day to day project implementation
    Attend relevant training forums relevant to the job
    Assist with any other related activities as deemed necessary by the supervisor

    Staff Management and Development

    Provide supervision to the Para counsellors and ensure effective provision of Psycho-social services.
    Conduct continuous performance/evaluation for the Para counsellors working under her/him.
    Engage in quality self-care through supervision, debriefings, and other shared sessions.
    Conduct regular formal and on-job training and mentorship to Para-Counsellors on areas related to Case Management, Counselling and other related topics to enhance professionalism.
    Conduct regular case conference meetings with the Para-counsellors both at individual and group levels.
    Organize for external capacity building forums on GBV Case Management and Therapeutic Counselling techniques.

    Experience and technical competencies:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work or other Social Science related field.
    2 years’ experience in providing psychosocial counseling in a refugee context
    Good team player; able to take direction and work collaboratively with others.
    Ability to communicate in a highly professional manner with clients, community members and professional partners.
    Able to complete required reporting and documentation within the set deadlines.
    Able to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality.
    Experience working in a refugee context is highly desirable
