East Africa Extractive Industries Program Advisor
The role
The East Africa Extractive Industries Program Advisor will support Oxfam to develop programming on extractive industries in countries across the region as well as the neighbouring region (including links to civil society in countries, such as Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa and in Ghana, Nigeria). The position will advise Oxfam country programs in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, South Sudan and DRC on strategies, program design and fundraising opportunities. The position will help Oxfam country staff implement and monitor programs, identify and overcome obstacles, facilitate technical and research assistance and help ensure consistency of messaging and approach. The position will help promote intra and cross-regional learning among affiliates to strengthen program implementation.
Responsibility
Work closely with country program staff in supporting the development of new Oxfam country programs on extractive industries in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, South Sudan and DRC – on a rotational basis.
Support the completion of extractives context analysis in countries where this does not exist, including stakeholder mapping, and analysis of the critical extractives issues.
Assist country programs in campaigning and advocacy, including designing and executing technical assistance projects. Identify fundraising opportunities and support proposal development. Support the monitoring and execution of restricted funding projects.
Facilitate extractive industries program (including advocacy, campaigning and gender) capacity-building and training. Design and execute cross-program learning exchanges. Participate in monitoring and evaluation of emerging country extractive industries programs.
Represent Oxfam regionally on extractive industries issues, networking and relationship building with partners, allies, funders, ‘targets’, academics, researchers, civil society. Support regional influencing work at EAC, SADC and AU level, in coordination with regional policy leads.
Contribute to Oxfam’s ‘worldwide influencing network’ by connecting East African organisations working on extractive industries, including gender and extractive industries, into Oxfam programming (particularly influencing) work in Horn and East Africa and globally, particularly in Oxfam affiliate countries that are home to mining companies.
Person specification

Policy Specialist, Women, Peace and Security
Duties and ResponsibilitiesOversee The Development Of Programmes On Women, Peace And Security By Country Office/ Multi Country Office Teams

Capacity Strengthening Coordinator
The Capacity Strengthening Coordinator (CSC) is responsible for developing, coordinating, managing and implementing the NEAR Capacity Strengthening Programme in Asia, Africa and Middle East with a focus on 5 countries. The post-holder will be based in the Nairobi office, but will be expected to travel frequently within Asia, Africa and Middle East region and more specifically to Nepal, South Sudan, Somalia, DRC and Turkey.
The NEAR Network capacity strengthening programme is funded by OFDA and ECHO and works with 25 partners in five countries (Nepal, South Sudan, DRC, Somalia and Turkey). The goal of the programme is to strengthen members’ ability to manage and deliver quality emergency preparedness, response, recovery and resilience programmes. It aims to strengthen organisational capacity of members and raise awareness, commitment and understanding of humanitarian principles and standards across members. The programme focuses on providing in-depth support to a small number of members to develop their leadership, compliance and financial management, communications and fundraising.
Responsibilities for the Capacity Strengthening Coordinator Job

Senior Associate, Carbon & Partnership Data Management
Job Purpose: The Senior Associate – Carbon and Partnership Data Management (C-PDM) is a member of the Monitoring, Learning and information System (MLIS) and is responsible for quality data management and analysis of data collected for carbon crediting purpose as well as other partners that work with Evidence Action.
S/He will develop appropriate checks to ensure that pre-determined sample size has been collected and submitted to the relevant partner.
S/he will contribute to developing appropriate measurement, sampling, and survey strategy and the design of survey instruments to collect partner specific data.
Duties and responsibilities
Manage and Lead data processing and Analysis needs for C&P data.
Manage data that is collected specifically for carbon crediting purposes and ensure that is safely stored.
Work closely with the Programing and Data Management teams to ensure carbon and partner’s data collected in the course of other program activities is complete, cleaned and stored safely.

Humanitarian Director- Somalia
Role Purpose: As a member of the Senior Management Team, provide leadership and strategic direction to all programmatic aspects of Save the Children humanitarian and emergency response in Somalia. The role holder will focus on advocacy, representation, policy, proposal and budget development, categorization of emergencies and support the field teams in expediting the implementation of humanitarian response projects.
