    Objectives of the Consultancy:
    PIA works with diverse groups of HRDs (especially marginalised and minority groups) across Africa region. As such, staff in charge of making interventions to these groups often rely in their field experiences as well as desktop reviews of existing studies.
    Thus, the consultancy on Diversity Equality and Inclusion (DEI) specifically seeks to:

    To get to understand staff’s perceptions, norms and beliefs on DEI.
    Identify staff’s knowledge gaps on DEI.
    To conduct a sensitization training on DEI for the staff.

    Terms of Reference of the consultant:

    Conduct consultations with staff to assess their perceptions, knowledge, attitudes and recommendations related to diversity equity and inclusion in the workplace for staff in Kenya and Tanzania.
    From the assessment, identifying the gaps that need to be addressed and facilitating the sessions to help both the teams be more efficient in supporting special HRDs.
    Develop and provide training to all staff, on the different dimensions of Gender, Equity, Social and inclusion GESI).
    Provide a detailed report with time-bound recommendations.
    Provide draft guidelines on DEI for the organization that are contextually appropriate that maybe used to upskill staff as part of the onboarding for future members
    Review internal policies and identify areas of improvement on DEI.

    Consultant (s) Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (social work, sociology, psychology, gender studies etc.)
    Minimum 5 years of experience in DEI mainstreaming, working with civil society and the public and private sectors.
    Experience implementing activities for the prevention and inclusion of marginalized and vulnerable groups.
    Must have a clear understanding and prior success employing programs in Tanzania and Kenya
    Ability to work as a member of a collaborative team to design inclusive activity implementation strategies in an array of technical fields.
    Excellent and fluent communication in both Swahili and English.
    Excellent communication skills both verbally and writing.
    Excellent interpersonal relationships with national and international staff, in a multicultural environment and with multidisciplinary teams.
    Preference for individuals that have worked on programs with a focus in Human Rights defenders and other vulnerable members of the society.

    Overall purpose of the role: 
    Under the technical supervision of the Protection Coordinator, the Advocacy Officer – Protection will be responsible for providing technical support for data collection by field offices and producing regular protection monitoring reports
    Duties & Responsibilities:
    Advocacy 

    Produce infographics and accessible information products for different audiences and including advocacy products.

    Protection Monitoring

    Experience and technical competencies: 

    A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the humanitarian sector related with an NGO/United Nations or civil society organization.
    Experience in using research methodologies and data collection tools.
    Excellent drafting skills in English and experience in report writing different audiences.
    Experience in developing advocacy plans and conducting advocacy activities with a range of stakeholders.
    Experience in the production of technical material (training material, tools, reports, documents, etc.).

    In the light of the context described, UN-Habitat is seeking an Instructional Designer with e-learning expertise, who can bring the pedagogical perspective and transform the law and climate change script into an effective e-learning product. The consultant will be responsible for producing instructional design models for the e-learning course on law and climate change and incorporate the different styles of e-Learning based on the courses’ content, learning goals, style, and pace, that are learner-centred and user-friendly.
    Under the direct supervision of the Legal Specialist, Policy, Legislation and Governance Section as well as the Associate Programme Management Officer, Capacity Development and Training Unit and overall supervision of the Chief of the Policy, Legislation and Governance Section, the Consultant will have the following responsibilities:
    Develop the existing script for the Urban Law and Climate Change online course into a fully-fledged and pedagogically sound e-learning script, ready for implementation in Articulate Rise and UN-Habitat Learn, with detailed structure and content descriptions of the various parts/modules. Individual modules may include text, images, interactive functionality, and videos.
    Create guidance for graphics for the full script, to be delivered to a graphic designer.
    Procure images and liaise with a graphic designer to produce graphics for the Introduction module of the online course.
    Configure in Articulate Rise the full script of the online course.
    The online course will be produced in close collaboration with two teams: the Policy, Legislation and Governance section, and the Capacity Development and Training Unit.
    The approval for payments to the consultancy shall be based solely on satisfactory delivery of the outputs specified in the ultimate result of service.

    Qualifications/special skills

    Academic Qualifications: An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in the fields of urban planning, instructional design, or related field is required.
    A first-level university degree in combination with additional 2 years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
    Minimum 4 years of experience in Capacity Development is required.
    Experience developing capacity development products on the topic of urban sustainability is desirable.
    Knowledge of e-learning in a sustainability context is desirable.

    Job Overview / Summary:
    The Inclusion Specialist will be based in a sub-team responsible for leading the overall thematic area of Inclusion within VPRU, promoting more inclusive humanitarian programming at the IRC, rooted in a strong analysis of context, power, gender and how intersecting aspects of identity may result in discrimination, oppression, and exclusion. The Inclusion Specialist will provide direct technical support to a wide range of projects mainstreaming inclusion globally. Our current inclusion portfolio focuses on mainstreaming inclusion in Violence Prevention and Response programming and has recently focused on the inclusion of women, adolescent girls, children, persons with disabilities and older people as well as people with diverse SOGIESC. Under this thematic area of inclusion, the Inclusion Specialist in collaboration with the VPRU Inclusion Advisor holds responsibility related to VPR Program Implementation, Strategy Development, Business Development, and external/internal representation in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
    Major Responsibilities:
    Reporting to the VPRU Inclusion Advisor – Strategy and Learning Team, the Inclusion Specialist provides project-specific technical support for the thematic area of Inclusion within VPRU. The Inclusion Specialist may directly supervise consultant-based, term-limited positions as needed. They coordinate with and support VPRU Country Support Technical Advisors on Inclusive VPR Programming and also coordinate with and support colleagues from IRC’s Program Quality Support Unit (PQSU), Emergencies and Humanitarian Action Unit (EHAU), Gender Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (GEDI) Unit and the AirBel Impact Lab.
    Program Implementation & Technical Assistance:

    Understanding of learning and best practice as well as existing external policy and practice landscape around Inclusion in humanitarian response including humanitarian architecture structures for representation at an Inter-Agency level.
    Experience leading capacity strengthening activities around the theme of inclusion as well as working in close collaboration with CSOs, Grass-Roots Organisations and Representative Organizations to build meaningful and equitable partnerships.

    Conduct a meeting with the team in order to create rapport by establishing objectives and expectations of the group.

    In supervision:

    Provide guidance on issues of burn out, case management and psychosocial support.
    Guidance in terms of career progression.
    Share learning/refresher.

    In debriefing:

    Conduct a Psycho-education session on coping mechanisms and professional development.
    Make recommendations to the team on how to improve and sustain professional and personal growth.
    Conduct a group and /or individual (when necessary) supervision exercise/session with case workers to handle complex situations/cases.

    In reporting:

    Submit a final debriefing report with the analysis, conclusions and recommendations.

    Review four key questions which include;

    what are we trying to accomplish? – Where did we hit (or miss) our objectives? – What are our outcomes? – What should we start, stop, or continue doing?

    The consultant should submit high quality reports within 15 days after completion of the activity not personalizing individual views/sentiments.
    Any other duty relevant to debriefing and supervision.

    Methodology
    The consultant may employ the use of the following methodologies while conducting the sessions;

    Experiential learning
    Reflective activities
    Peer review
    Supervision
    Role plays
    Refresher on counseling skills and theories

    Key deliverables/outputs
    The consultant is expected;

    To identify group challenges and develop opportunities for growth.
    To enhance self-care practices to prevent and manage burnout
    To provide a safe environment for staff to reflect, share both personal experience and best practices.
    To provide a group supervision exercise for the team to enhance team work and cohesion
    To promote individual and team support towards emotional resilience
    To submit a final report with recommendations.

    DRC’s responsibilities
    For field assignments, DRC will provide the consultant’s accommodation and meals on full board. DRC will also compensate travel expenses including taxi costs to and from the airport/bus station to the facilitation Venue.
    Note: The consultant will provide necessary materials needed for facilitating the sessions.
    Reporting Arrangements

    The consultant will report to the Team Leader for the activities.
    The facilitator will liaise with the team leader and supply chain for travel arrangements.

    DURATION OF ASSIGNMENT
    The consultancy period shall be for 3-5 days (specific dates may vary per region/field office). The final report must be submitted to DRC within 15 working days after the exercise.
    EXPECTED PROFILE OF CONSULTANT
    The consultant must have;

    Advanced degree in counseling from a recognized institution and must be certified by Kenya Association of Professional Counsellors (KAPC) or any other relevant body.
    Over 10 years in counseling, training and counseling supervision.
    Experience in offering trauma counselling and supervising counselors dealing with trauma cases.
    Must have skills and experience in conducting supervision, debriefing and team building activities.
    Experience in conducting debriefing, supervision and teambuilding for individuals working with refugees and those working in conflict and post-conflict areas, is an added advantage.

    Responsibilities

    Under the direct supervision of the Head, Environment Policy Unit, Law Division, the consultant will work with a team of experienced professionals in the area of youth engagement and empowerment to strengthen the outreach and impact of the work streams of the Branch. The work to be undertaken will contribute directly to UNEP’s core focus on youth engagement and those related to Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs). The work will be carried out in cooperation and consultation of the relevant Divisions and Units of UNEP as well as the MEA Secretariats.

    Specific Responsibilities Include

    Develop, initiate and roll out activities related to youth engagement in support of MEAs belonging to chemicals, waste, ozone cluster and biodiversity cluster.
    Provide technical support on actions in support of ongoing work of the Branch related to youth in Africa and Caribbean regions.
    Develop an operational plan for strengthening youth engagement across the Branch activities for effective implementation of MEAs belonging to the two thematic clusters of MEAs identified above.
    Develop and strengthen the youth alumni network and the knowledge management platform already established under the ACP MEAs 3 programme.
    Develop communication and outreach material, including for social media for effectively communicating youth related actions under the Branch.
    Liaise and communicate with relevant youth programmes, within and outside UNEP and identify linkages to work of the Branch and build synergies.
    Develop training and mentoring plans for the youth as needed in skill development, in consultation with youth partners focusing on MEAs.
    Prepare reports, briefs and presentations on youth related work on MEAs and support outreach actions through online channels.

    Qualifications/special Skills

    Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent degree) in environmental sciences, social sciences, ICT or environmental law with two years of relevant experience is required
    A first-level university degree in environmental sciences, social sciences or environmental law, ICT or related disciplines in combination with four years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
    A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in programme / project management related to environmental law is required.
    Experience in drafting review documents, meeting reports and assessment papers related to Environmental management/law is required.
    Having social media skills is an advantage.
    Knowledge and experience relating to Multilateral Environmental Agreements is an advantage.
    Experience in data collection and/or undertaking research will be an added advantage.

    Languages

    Fluency in written, oral skills in English is required. Additional language proficiency will be an added asset.
