    Oversight and management of SoH GFFO Humanitarian Response

    Work closely with the Project Steering Committee, the Regional Humanitarian Relief Officer and the Response Program teams to implement the response
    Coordinate regularly with the project steering committee, project teams, management, and donors to support implementation and ensure that programming meets/exceeds donor standards and corresponds to work plans and budgets
    Liaison and/or work closely with local implementing partners, government departments and colleagues at the HQ, Regional, Country and field offices.
    Coordinate and lead on planning and implementation of SoH GFFO humanitarian responses
    Together with relevant staff and partners, ensure project implementation plans, meetings, regular monitoring, and reporting are conducted
    Identify challenges in the design or implementation of the humanitarian project and give feedback on the required corrective actions to address them
    Ensure high-quality and consented communications materials are gathered and shared
    Identify humanitarian best practices and compile lessons learned and make use of them in future projects

    Project implementation and operations management

    Develop/review SOPs and ensure compliance to best practice methods such as Cash transfer
    Work in consultation and closely with the SoH regional procurement and logistic officer and partners Logistics Team to ensure efficient procurement and delivery of humanitarian items and services
    Work closely with the SoH regional humanitarian officer to recruit and support crucial emergency response positions
    Prepares periodic reports on the implementation of humanitarian project activities as per the requirements of GFFO and SoH to a high standard
    Ensure that Project Implementation Plans are created, regularly monitored, and updated. Ensure regular communication with government, donors, and in-country partners.

    Programs and Grants Management Oversight

    Ensure funds are spent/committed in compliance with the agreed objectives, timeframe, and donor regulations
    In collaboration with the Humanitarian Response Finance Officer, ensures that the Master Budget is in place and up to date
    Prepares/review humanitarian project budgets from all partners
    As part of planning a project, prepares/reviews annual and quarterly project budgets.
    Follows up on budget utilization and project expenditure, undertakes BVA and advises on periodic project budget revisions where applicable.

    Capacity Building

    In collaboration with the Regional team, Country representatives and field-based staff, assess and analyse key partner’s capacity and collaborate with the regional humanitarian relief officer to organize capacity strengthening sessions.
    Identify and recommend possible support to field teams to build their capacity and facilitate project implementation.
    Facilitate humanitarian awareness training and related sessions to the SoH and partner response team
    Maintains regular communication and interaction with government office partners to facilitate and promote learning and information sharing.

    Documentation, Learning, and Research

    Ensures proper documentation of the humanitarian response and lessons are documented and shared with SoH staff.
    Facilitates information sharing and learning between SoH and its partners and relevant Government partners on the humanitarian response
    Participate in the evaluation, monitoring, and review to ensure strict compliance of program activities with SoH policies and procedures and with relevant donor regulations and agreements.

    The job duties and responsibilities as set out above are not exhaustive. The Humanitarian Response Project Manager may be required to carry out additional duties within reasonableness of their skills and experience level.
    Candidates’ profile

    A university degree in Public Health, Disaster Risk Management, Agriculture, Agro Economics or Natural Resources Management, International Development or Social Sciences or accepted equivalent professional experience
    A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in the areas of humanitarian support / relief operations.
    Knowledge and advanced experience on CASH programming, Protection and Gender in emergencies, WASH in Emergencies and application across sectoral interventions
    Knowledge of SPHERE and other humanitarian programming standards.
    Evidence of leadership on emergency response in drought emergencies is an advantage
    Demonstrated success working effectively and respectfully with host communities, government, private sector, INGO, NGO partners and other stakeholders in complex environments.
    Extensive knowledge of community participatory approaches, disaster risk reduction, recharge, re-use and retention (3R) concept is desirable.
    Previous experience working on grants is desirable
    Proven skills in financial and grants management. Prior experience with emergency response grant management for both private and institutional donors is desired
    Experience in logistics management
    Experience working in operating in complex international environments, with multi-cultural and multi-ethnic settings is highly preferred
    High frustration tolerance/resilience and strong capability of working in a fragile context and fast-paced environment on highly dynamic topics
    Previous working experience in Arid and Semi-arid Land (ASAL) areas is desirable,
    Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    Excellent and persuasive oral and written communication skills, including report writing
    Good team player and experience in mentoring staff
    Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members.
    Willingness to travel in the region (30% of the time)

    QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

    7 years’ experience.
    Demonstrated experience with managing development programs, preferably in a technical area, community development and/or child-focused programming
    Outstanding written and oral communication skills in English
    Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and cross-cultural skills including the ability to build collaborative relationships internally and externally with sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, social, and political issues.
    Demonstrated technical expertise in such areas as project, budget, and resource management.

    Purpose
    The Grants and Reporting Officer will provide grants management support for the regional office portfolio with adherence to internal and external standards and regulations. He/she will execute multiple grants transactions and ensure process integrity in all areas including proposal development, reporting and documentation.
    Engagement
    He/she will closely collaborate with Regional Grants and Contracts Manager for technical guidance. He/she will interact with Action Against Hunger sector coordinators and grants staff at country, regional and Network HQs level, and with external stakeholders as needed.
    Delivery
    Quality formulation of donor proposals in accordance with relevant guidelines; timely and high-quality donors reporting of Action Against Hunger Programs; consistent delivery of timely and quality grants services using established processes and tools.
    Objective 1: Proposal Development

    In close collaboration with stakeholders at country and regional level, formulate concept note(s) as first stage of proposal submission to international and local donors.
    Coordinate, monitor and/or support in the completion of all sub-components of technical proposals as per the agreed timeframe.
    Ensure the coherence and technical quality of the overall proposal package prior to submission.

    Objective 2: Overall Grants Management

    Disseminate and track reports for review by regional office teams.
    Support regional office grants management team in the overall reporting procedures with a good deal of attention to detail like proof reading, copy editing, reports compilations, update preparations, and presentations.

    Objective 4: Donor Compliance

    With the support of Grants Manager, review Partnership and teaming agreements and support in coordinating their reviews with relevant focal persons.
    Support that grants are implemented in compliance with AAH and relevant donors regulations.
    Support in maintaining and updating accurate grant and contract files.

    Objective 5: Documentation, Archiving and Other tasks as assigned

    Support the development and maintenance of a comprehensive information management and filing system that ensures all grants documents (contractual documents, reports, key correspondences, modifications, etc.) are appropriately filed in up-to-date and consistent soft and hard libraries available as needed
    Uploading proposals and reports on different donors portal depending on the donor and make sure these portals are updated with latest information.
    Sensitize grants management and technical teams on archiving system in use and supporting in the retrieval of essential documents.

    Job Overview 
    We are seeking an organized and passionate psychosocial counselor to support  
    Community Maternal and Child Health project in an urban informal settlement context in Nairobi. As a project officer, this position will work closely with other team members will be responsible for leading individual and group counseling sessions for CPN MCH project participants.  The position holder will facilitate psychoeducation training for CPN staff, program participants, and community members on mental health topics. The position holder must be proficient in conducting assessments and data collection, and comfortable with reporting data internally 
    Major Responsibilities  

      Participate in the development of professional, effective, and appropriate psychosocial programming, including direct individual and group counseling support, and expanded mental health services.  
    Provide professional and confidential one-on-one and group counseling services to individuals with personal and social challenges such as conflict, parenting, sexual and gender-based violence, death/grief, perinatal depression and post-traumatic stress disorder.  
    Lead mental health awareness raising and/or sensitization campaigns among participants in the community and within the organization  
    Co-facilitate training on maternal and child heath behavior change communication and psychoeducation.  
    Participate in and contribute to the development and roll-out of maternal and child health curriculum with modules on maternal mental health  
    Compile monthly and quarterly counseling reports on the referred cases, including analysis of behavioral trends and patterns and the identified solutions.  
    Lead psychological assessments for clients, assist with data collection on psychosocial activities, and maintain records and databases with the utmost integrity and confidentiality.  
    Undertake referrals to partner organizations as appropriate.  
    Participate in routine departmental work plan reviews and assist with preparing relevant reports for management and funders.   

    Job Requirements 
    Essential 

    Diploma in Counseling Psychology from a recognized university or Diploma in Social work and Development (KNEC).  
    Registered member of a recognized body of counselors and psychologists
    A minimum of 3 years relevant experience working in a not-for-profit organization
    Excellent command of English and Kiswahili.  
    Confident user of Microsoft and google suit

    Bachelor’s degree in Counseling Psychology.  
    Prior experience working in an urban informal settlement

    Work Experience

    A Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management in the context of environmental management, research and development is required.
    Experience in GEF project life cycle including development, implementation and reporting is required.
    Working experience with Umoja modules including Implementing Partners (IP), Business Intelligence (BI), Integrated Planning, Management and Reporting (IPMR) and Enterprise Core Component (ECC) is required.
    A minimum of two (2) years or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.

    Languages

    English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable.

    Responsibilities of the Executive Director
    Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the Executive Director will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for the Trust, staff, programs, and execution of its mission.
    LEADERSHIP

    Actively participates in the development and assumes responsibility for the implementation of the overall strategic direction of the UTNWF in accordance with the vision, mission, values, strategic plan and goals approved by the Board of Trustees.
    Drafts policies for approval by the Board of Trustees and prepare procedures to implement the organizational policies.
    Review existing policies on an annual basis and recommend changes to the Board of Trustees as appropriate.
    Act as a professional advisor to the Board of Trustees on all aspects of the Trust’s activities, on issues and concerns related to the Trust, and on trends and emerging issues in the external environment.
    Foster effective collaboration between the staff and the Board of the Trustees, as well as foster teamwork among staff and other supporting partners.

    OPERATIONS

    Oversee the efficient and effective day-to-day operations of the Trust using Board-approved policies and procedures.

    Ensure that the operation of the UTNWF meets the expectations of its donors, Board of Trustees and other stakeholders.

    The Duration
    It is envisaged that the Executive Director role will be for permanent employment after a successful probation period.
    Candidates for the position of Executive Director

    The position is open to candidates who previously served in a leadership role, such as Executive Director preferably in an environment, business or conservation related field (5-10 years preferred). Evidence of resource mobilization and fund investment experience will be an advantage.
    A proven record of developing and maintaining collaborations and partnerships.
    History of strong, passionate engagement and involvement with multicultural and multilingual efforts.
    Experienced in authentic engagement with community voices to lead and direct organizational strategy.
    The candidate should have prior experience with managing staff and volunteers.
    Demonstrated history of fundraising and ability to effectively relate to individual, corporate and conservation donors.
    Good communicator and comfortable speaking in public, and with diverse audience.
    Experience developing organizational or program messaging and running marketing campaigns.
    Experienced in developing and overseeing budgets and ensuring the financial well-being for a program or organization.
    Is a Big-picture, systemic thinker with the ability to make great things happen and also exercise judgement on how to effectively balance those efforts with organizational stability.
    Has an understanding of best practices for Non-Profit organizations, with knowledge on how to implement these best practices.
    Must be willing to submit to a background check.
    Understanding of a Non-Profit budgeting process preferred.
