    Short introduction
    The Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health Programme aims to reduce adolescent deaths and injury from unsafe abortion in Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa. The programme will ensure girls are able to access quality comprehensive sexual and reproductive services and will support community based organisations to shift social norms and build girls’ agency though ICT platforms and interpersonal networks.
    Summary purpose and objective of role
    The Team Leader will provide inspirational, strategic, technical and managerial oversight to the programme in order to build a local ecosystem to prevent and reduce unsafe abortion in Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa. The Team Leader is accountable for the overall delivery of the programme and leading the various partner implementing teams. The main areas of work include

    Providing strategic and technical leadership of the programme
    Overseeing and managing relations with client, government, counterparts and in country partners
    Providing efficient and cost-effective delivery of a high quality programme that produces results
    Leading planning and budgeting of the programme and monitoring performance against plans
    Providing oversight of financial, due diligence, security and risk management

    Person specification
    The Team Leader has strong technical expertise in sexual and reproductive health and rights (or a closely related area such as child rights), and social and behaviour change in relation to sensitive issues. They demonstrate outstanding leadership and engagement skills for building consensus and inspiring motivation and commitments among diverse stakeholders. They have a track record of transformational change in challenging environments and relating to complex and sensitive issues. They will have significant experience of senior level management in international development and have experience of implementing health programmes. Experience in programmes aiming to reduce unsafe abortion is desirable.

    The Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health Programme aims to reduce adolescent deaths and injury from unsafe abortion in Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa. Options Consultancy Services is the consortium lead for the programme, working in partnership with consortium members and local civil society organisations. Taking a User Centred Design approach, the programme will:

    Ensure girls are able to access quality comprehensive sexual and reproductive services, including through referral networks and support to community based organisations.
    Foster and support a community based movement to shift social norms and build girls’ agency, though mobilising both ICT platforms and interpersonal networks.
    Build the capacity of local organisations to reduce unsafe abortion and facilitate south-south learning.
    The programme will start with in-depth research and analysis, followed by an intense period of prototyping and testing potential approaches. From Year Two, successful concepts will be scaled up

    The Accessibility Manager will support Ipas Africa Alliance in developing accessibility and community engagement strategies to enhance access to reproductive and sexual health services for girls and women in supported programmes.     Requirements

    Develop an annual nutrition sector work plan in Daadab.
    Supervise and coordinate the implementation and monitoring of nutrition project activities in line with proposal targets and work plan timelines
    Conduct nutritional surveillance in the camp based on agreed camp wide methodologies including surveys, process monitoring, SMART, LQAS, SQUEAC and other rapid methods.

    A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in nutrition, public health, nutrition planning and management and/or in relevant areas of maternal, infant and child health/nutrition care at program management level is required.
    Experience in designing and implementing nutrition surveys and other methodologies,
    Knowledge in computer statistical packages such as SMART and basic data analysis skills.
    Experience in managing a nutrition program in emergencies or among refugee/ displaced populations an advantage.
    Working in resource poor environment and complex emergencies.

    Main Purpose of the Job
    The primary duty of the SHOFCO Community Health Workers is following up on selected patients in their homes to ensure treatment adherence and recovery and report to any complications to physicians.
    CHWs are also responsible for clinical outreach and active case finding, conduct relevant health talks/topics will be scheduled by the CHW Supervisor and performed by the CHWs in the clinic and throughout the community.

    Job Responsibilities

    Advice the community members on health matters and accessible health services available at the facility.

    We seek to recruit 6 Health Advisors for our research teams based in Homa Bay and Kisumu. Health Advisors will be responsible for working with facility based HTS personnel, providing technical advice on aPS to HTS providers and support data collection activities for the study, including interviews and blood draws. They must be comfortable working with HIV-infected people in the locations where they and/or their partners live and dwell.They must be able to work with minimal supervision and for long hours when necessary.They will report to the Study Coordinator. These positions are temporary for a period of 18 months beginning January 2018 and will be based in Kisumu.
    Specific duties and responsibilities:

    Support facility based HTS providers to screen and enroll eligible HIV-infected persons into the study
    Provide expert advice on aPS protocols for screening and enroling eligible HIV-infected people into the study.
    Support facility-based personnel to perform blood draws for HIV-infected people enrolled in the study as per study protocols
    Support the conduct of interviews with study participants using mobile data entry technology as per study protocols.
    Provide supportive supervision to facility teams and be responsible for following up index participants’ sexual partners through either home visits or phone calls.
    Support facility HTS providers to perform HIV testing and counseling for index participants and their sexual partners in compliance with national guidelines and as per study protocols.
    Maintain familiarity with the protocol and standard operation procedures (SOP) of the study.
    Provide ongoing counseling and relevant referrals for participant support, including HIV care services, support groups, violence prevention organizations.
    Document clinic, home visits, and phone calls on source documents and case report forms (CRFs).
    Safeguard source documents and CRFs and ensure data quality.
    Participate in community engagement activities and meetings.
    Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports as needed for the Study Coordinator.
    Meet the agreed study targets.

    Required Skills

    Diploma or degree in public health, nursing, clinical medicine, or other health-related fields. Three years working experience in a similar role, preferably in health related research study settings or any related field.
    Certificate in Voluntary Counseling and Testing or HTS from NASCOP.
    Certificate or formal training and experience in phlebotomy.
    Updated work experience in current national HTS guidelines. .
    Experience working with key and priority populations is desirable.
    Experience in Home-Based Counseling and Testing is desirable.
