Ensure that correct values are used during declaration and other related procedures to avoid losses that may accrue because of penalties.
Establish and maintain a working relationship with customs office.
Making sure inspections and speed governors are renewed on time
Applying for KEBS exemption for raw materials, spares and machines
Following up with KEBS standardization permits

Qualification and Experience
Diploma in Clearing and Forwarding
A Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the same capacity
Highly conversant with KRA Simba system and Orgus (will be an added advantage)
Must have knowledge of government procedures relating to imports and exports knowledge of customs laws pertaining to Kenya, east and central Africa.

The role will also involve continuous liaison and work with CO Logistics teams’ stakeholders and senior management to get support required for the Logs department.

Essential:
A Degree in Supply Chain/ Logistics or related area
At least 3 years’ experience as logistics management level at a Regional/Country level in the NGO sector, within complex/large scale country programmes and in emergency response/humanitarian environments.
1 – 3 years’ international experience is must. Experience at Regional Logistics management level a strong advantage. Proven experience in all technical areas of logistics operations including procurement, transport/distribution, warehousing and stock management, fleet management, asset management, communications, and security

Warehouse Supervisor Veterinary Manager
Responsibilities of the Warehouse Supervisor:
Organize and direct operations work flow and job responsibilities within the warehouse to ensure effective management of the receipt, storage, picking, packing, loading at acceptable KPI levels and shipping of products to customers.
Maintain records of inventory and location for production control and cost accounting to ensure adherence to the company warehouse and distribution practices.
Conduct inventory control through cyclical stock counts to maintain stock integrity and through this, to ensure that financial stock takes and stock counts are conducted according to client contracts and the company cyclical requirements. This would ensure that stock integrity is maintained in line with the Warehouse Management System.
Co-ordinate with internal customs department, where required, to ensure that customs clearance procedures are complied with and legal requirements are met.
Develop good relationship with customer to ensure high customer service levels are maintained at all times.
Manage and troubleshoot problems with WMS to ensure the operations in distribution center flow continuously and flag errors accordingly and on time.

Manage the development of staff in the warehouse and ensure that the warehouse is staffed with the requisite numbers to maximize their capability and contribution.

HSSE OFFICER
The purpose of this role is to perform the duties of the HSSE Officer for Great Lakes Ports Limited. This position is accountable for leading, developing and maintaining effective HSSE strategies and policies.

Key Responsibilities
Safety • Performs various duties and activities related to fire prevention and fire fighting: • Maintains all fire fighting equipment to a high standard and ensures equipment is always in good working order. • Conducts fire prevention inspections in the port buildings and areas in accordance with fire prevention regulations. • Inspects all fire equipment and keeps records of inspections. • Coordinates mutual fire protection plans, emergency responses and other department activities with surrounding jurisdictions, other departments and organizations. • Responds to all emergencies in the port and renders assistance. Supply Chain Officer
Supply Chain Officer Job Purpose/Objective
To provide all necessary Supply chain supports to the field project activities in Kakuma field office and proceed with maximum efficiency while adhering to IRC’s Supply chain procedures.
Administrative Roles:
To deputize the supply chain manager in his absence and ensure there is continuity of entire supply chain activities in support of the program
Manage all staff employed in the supply chain Department who are directly under him & supporting operations for Kakuma
Program by assigning of duties through Delegation, monitoring the performance and regularly evaluating staff directly supervised by him /her.
Plan and conduct staff performance reviews for supply chain staff directly under his staff management and map out the staff performance development plan.
Responsible for logistics and procurement activities for planning, organizing and developing the long term strategy and approach of IRC supply chain
Ensure there is an adequate and neatly organized filling system for waybills, inventory records and other logistical records.

Proper record keeping and updated procurement of services and goods documentations in the procurement sector.
Ensure that IRC procedures are followed in all spheres. Carry out staff orientation where necessary.

A rotation with Field Operations could include managing an entire season’s worth of training materials for 100,000+ farmers, designing incentives to ensure high repayment, or serving as a liaison to our crop health teams which monitor in-field agricultural problems for our farmers.

Senior Shipping Associate National Logistics Officer Programme Policy Officer, NOA – Social Protection Engineer
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Deputy Logistics Officer and under the overall supervision of the Head of Logistics, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:Tracking WFP shipments arrivals to Somalia and alerting area offices of expected arrivals and foreseen delays;
Compilation of shipping report capturing status of arrivals and exports and circulating on weekly basis;
Ensuring necessary shipping documents are shared with ports operations teams on time;
Preparations of work orders, non-charge invoice and sharing with nominated service providers for stevedoring, customs clearance;
Ensuring nominated service providers allocations are accordance with tariff system as defined in the Transport Manual;
Monitoring performance of the nominated service providers, consolation with ports operations teams and compilation of performance evaluation reports upon end of contract;
Participating in evaluation of potential and existing local WFP shipping agents;
Maintaining single line of communications between Head Quarters and Area Offices about shipping for effective and efficient information flow;
