    Responsibilities

    Within the delegated authority, the Logistics Officer will be responsible for the following duties:
    Exercises managerial and supervisory control over all logistics support required by the mission.

    Work Experience

    Project Description: The Impacting Gender & Nutrition through Innovative Technical Exchange in Agriculture (IGNITE) mechanism is a five-year investment funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and implemented by Tanager to improve household nutrition and women’s empowerment by strengthening African institutions’ ability to integrate nutrition and gender into their way of doing business and their agriculture interventions.
    IGNITE will work with African institutions to design, implement, and evaluate nutrition-sensitive and gender-integrated agriculture interventions. IGNITE will also strengthen the ability of African institutions to incorporate nutrition and gender equality into their policy priorities and business practices—their way of doing business.
    Based on the interventions implemented by IGNITE clients, IGNITE will identify key mechanisms and drivers of demand for the scale up and replication of nutrition-sensitive and gender-integrated interventions. IGNITE activities will be targeted in Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Nigeria, and Tanzania. Potential clients include NGOs, private sector companies, and government bodies working in agriculture.
    Position Summary: Tanager is seeking an logistics and operations officer based in their office in Nairobi, Kenya, to provide logistical and administrative support required for the fulfillment of deliverables under the IGNITE project.     Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Responsible for the planning, organizing, directing and controlling of warehousing/storage, order fulfillment, transportation, and inventory control activities within the Logistics Service Provider.
    Work with the LSPs to ensure inventory accuracy is maintained at established levels via execution of cycle counts, annual physical inventory activities, analysis and reconciliations.
    Monitors the LSP’s operational performance against agreed service levels and implement required corrective actions when deviations occur.
    Serves as key liaison between the LSP, local business units, and regional and global logistics and supply functions and Pfizer Global Supply on matters related to local logistics and supply operations.
    Identifying opportunities for cost improvements (CIP) related to local market logistics operations while maintaining efficiency and performance levels.

    Bachelor’s degree (degree or certification in supply chain preferred)
    Experience in Logistics and Distribution Operations
    Experience with Import and Export Documentation in the East Africa Region
    Working experience with ERP systems
    PC skills (Windows, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
