    AWF is seeking a dynamic and high performing intern to support the Grants Management Team (GMT) with Awards data entry into the Serenic Accounting System. To be successful in this position, the successful candidate will be   self-motivated, capable of working with minimum supervision, high numerical accuracy and demonstrate high levels of integrity and good work ethics.
    Responsibilities

    Entering award estimate budget in Award Vision in accordance with;

    approved work plan
    approved personnel budget by employee
    approved donor annualized budget

    Enter award estimate budget by donor annual years
    Update award obligations in Award Vision
    Update award reporting milestones in Award vision
    Documents filling in AWF box storage according to checklist to provided
    Any other duties as delegated by the supervisor

    Qualifications

    At least CPA II or any other professional accounting qualification
    An undergraduate degree in Accounting will be an added advantage
    Familiarization with government regulations.
    At least 6 months experience in a similar position
    Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
    Ability to work as part of a team.
    Strong written and verbal communication skills
    Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and to prioritize them.
    Demonstrated interest and understanding of key concepts in administrative support services.
    Ability to work with minimal supervision

    Position Summary: The Tropical Forages program is seeking to recruit a GIS Intern with good spatial data management skills to assemble and organize vast array of geospatial data that exists for Africa.   Duties and
    Responsibilities

    Collection and analysis of geospatial data from openly available resources
    Perform digital data conversions (e.g. excel, access to spatial data )
    Create and add new map layers to existing geospatial databases
    Provide support in the maintenance of existing geospatial databases
    Perform any other GIS-related tasks as assigned. 

    Qualification and personal attributes

    Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental science or other closely related discipline is desirable (Final year students or less than one year after degree completion are encouraged to apply)
    Proven competence in using open source GIS application software e.g. QGIS, R and Python
    Automation of spatial processes using R and Python is an added advantage
    Good analytical and spatial database skills 
    Excellent interpersonal, writing, communication and planning skills
    Self-driven and attention to detail
    Eagerness to learn new skillsets.

    Terms of Employment: 
    This is a nationally recruited Internship position based in Nairobi, Kenya. The initial contract will be for period of three (3) months, and is renewable depending on performance and availability of resources.     The contract shall be read in conjunction with the Industrial Training Act  Cap 237 Laws of Kenya.  Specific Conditions:
    The Industrial Attachee shall:

    Obey and observe all industrial/site  safety rules and regulations;
    Serve the employer diligently  and obey all lawful instructions  of  the employer; 
    Not divulge any of the employer’s  classified information; 
    Not absent himself/herself during normal working hours without the  permission  of the employer;
    Not engage in any other form of employment  during working  hours; 
    Attend such classes or take such correspondence courses as the employer may require; 
    Avail himself/herself for continuous assessment by authorized persons to determine his/her achievement; 
    Complete  all assignments  given by the trainer on time; 
    Maintain  the insurance cover for the period of attachment;
    Cooperate with fellow employees at work. 

    The Employer shall:

    Give the attachee proper induction and orientation of the Organization; 
    Place the attachee under a qualified and competent trainer;
    Provide necessary tools/equipment and materials during the period of    attachment; 
    Provide the best possible and diversified experience to the attachee. 
    Assess the attachee using the provided assessment criteria and guidelines. 
    Furnish NITA with reports on progress and conduct of the attachee on the prescribed Form(s) and format. 
    Provide necessary security and protection to the attachee.
    Allow  adequate access by the supervisor to assess the attachee.

    Community Nutritionist – Intern The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking a highly talented Community Nutritionist – Intern.

    The Position: The community nutritionist intern will dedicate his/her time working in counties linked to the OFSP seed and root value chain and work with the respective counties, national governments and other development partners to promote nutrition sensitive agriculture and biofortification in Kenya. He/she will assist the CIP Nutrition Scientist to coordinate nutrition sensitive agricultural activities around biofortified orange-fleshed sweetpotato in selected counties and assist in designing, overseeing implementation of nutrition education, communication and behavior change activities in the OFSP value chains.
    Key responsibilities:

    Be the projects contact person with the partners we will be working with to promote nutrition sensitive agriculture and biofortification in Kenya.
    Assist the CIP Nutrition Scientist to coordinate nutrition sensitive agriculture activities around biofortified orange fleshed sweetpotato in selected counties.
    Assist in designing, oversee implementation of nutrition education, communication and behavior change activities in the OFSP value chains.
    Provides consultation to and works with Volunteer Health Workers. Selection Criteria
    A bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Community Nutrition, Public Health or a related field.
    A master’s degree in nutrition will be an added advantage.
    At least 1-year experience with community nutrition work specifically on maternal, infant, young child and adolescent nutrition (MIYCAN).
    Advanced level of MS Office.
    Advanced level in written and spoken English.
    Fluent in Kiswahili.

    Scope of Assignment
    Support the planning, M&E department and other CoG Technical Committees in Monitoring and Research.
    The specific duties and responsibilities will include:

    Assist in data collection for the Council of Governors Sectoral Committees in order for them to incorporate in their plans and strategies;

    Qualifications
    Required Training and Qualifications

    Bachelor of Statistics, Project Management, Social Sciences plus Post Graduate Training in Monitoring and Evaluation from a recognized Institution;
    Certificate in Computer applications.
    Experienced in undertaking comprehensive research;
    Outstanding Interpersonal, analytical and communication skills;
    Ability to follow deadlines, accuracy and attention to detail;
    A high level of computer literacy and proficient in written and spoken English and Kiswahili; and
