    Scope  

    The Public and Private Partnerships (PPP) Section of the Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office (ESARO) provides guidance and technical support to 21 Country Offices and Regional Office Technical Sections on engagement with public and private partners.  
    In addition to developing and stewarding regional/multicounty partnerships and regional-level relationships, the Section also ensures that high quality proposals and reports are developed and supports regional and country offices in critical periods of the year in this regard. In addition, there is a need to enhance knowledge management system for the growing and complex resource mobilization needs in the region, which is building on the existing knowledge management efforts and takes into consideration the lessons learnt so far to share information and knowledge efficiently and effectively in a growing ecosystem of partners in the region.  
    In this context, ESARO PPP section is seeking the services of an inter to support proposal and reporting development, including for the key emergency contexts as well as to strengthen knowledge management and information sharing with country offices in the partnership ecosystem. The Intern will also be able to provide more focused support to the prioritized country offices with resource mobilization needs.  

    Main tasks and responsibilities 

    Support knowledge management activities relevant to public and private sector engagement, ensure timely collection and dissemination of partner intelligence and mapping on a continuous basis to guide resource mobilization and partnership priorities and discussions with relevant partners.  
    Co-authoring of donor communications content such as newsletters, articles, and social media channels.   
    In coordination with PPP and regional teams, provide technical support to prioritized Country Offices in the development of resource mobilisation documents, and provide support with quality donor reporting, recognition and visibility, etc. as needed.  
    Conduct surveys with the respective regional country offices and regional colleagues on the needs and gaps when it comes to partnerships.  
    Support the organization of the Regional Partnerships Network Meeting in Q4 2023.  
    Prepare briefings, one-pagers and presentation materials as needed.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ROLE REQUIREMENTS                                                                                               

    Duties will include but are not limited to supporting and contributing to the Development Impact Team in:

    Designing and developing new features on the DIMIS platform using ASP.NET C#
    Digitising the interventions tracker.
    Work with DI Managers to build a database of screening data.
    Assist the DI Analyst in building out relevant dashboard from FSD Africa DIMIS platform.
    Data mining of data on various initiatives as requested/guided by the DI team.
    Participate in the DI team meetings to learn and gain DI experience from the discussions held within the team.
    Shadow members of the DI team to get an understanding of development impact within FSD Africa

    Carry out any other duties or special assignments as assigned by the Senior DI Manager

    PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

    Qualifications and Education

    Currently enrolled or a recent graduate in an undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science, software engineering, statistics, data science, or related field.

    Essential Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

    Strong knowledge of programming concepts with ASP.NET C# tech stack though knowledge of other programming languages is a bonus.
