    Job Description

    As a Digitisation intern your role will include converting physical materials such as documents, newspapers, photographs and other archival artefacts into digital formats. The role involves operating digitisation equipment and software, organising digital files and ensuring the accuracy and quality of the digitised materials. You will be expected to meet project deadlines and maintain efficient workflows. This role requires attention to detail and technical proficiency.

    ROLE PROFILE : DIGITISATION INTERN
    Functions & Responsibilities:

    Uploading, organising and managing large volumes of data onto an online platform.
    Operate photography equipment such as digitisation cameras, according to established guidelines. This includes preparing materials for digitisation.
    Conduct quality control checks on digitised files to ensure accuracy and adherence to established standards.
    Creation and management of metadata associated with digitised files. This involves accurately recording information such as titles, dates, descriptions and other relevant details to facilitate search and retrieval.
    Organise and maintain digital files using appropriate naming conventions and folder structures.
    Ensure the proper handling and care of delicate or sensitive materials during the digitisation process.
    Perform basic image editing and enhancement tasks using software tools as required.
    Support research by assisting in the planning, execution and analysis of various research projects.

    Monitoring and Adjusting Market Dynamics (Customer preferences, industry trends, emerging technologies, and relevant regulations).
    Networking & Telephony products catalog and products content (Specifications); Manage Networking & Telephony product assortment (planning, selection, and optimization).
    Conduct regular performance reviews of Networking & Telephony product categories to ensure customer quality expectations and trends-conscious, monitoring competitor Networking & Telephony products and pricing to identify opportunities and make informed decisions.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Networks and Security,  ICT, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Marketing, or a related field.
    Preferrable Experience in product(s) category merchandising or related roles, with a proven track record of customer service and driving sales growth and profitability with Networking & Telephony Products.
    Proficiency in using category management software and tools.
    Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
    Strong communication, management, and decision-making skills.
    Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    Strong customer service and  customer care skills
    Experience in the IT, Retail, or e-Business industry is a plus

    Under the direct supervision of the Information Systems Officer the intern will:  Utilize cloud computing platforms and principles for application development.  

    Create applications in accordance with validated user requirements and designated development platforms.  
    Conduct application testing and address identified bugs to ensure that only functional applications are deployed.  
    Generate comprehensive technical documentation, including system requirements, job aids, user manuals and ICT process guides.  
    Identify opportunities for solutions to enhance business processes and define the requirements of business users.

    Qualifications/special skills

    Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: be enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate school programme in information and communication technology or related area; be enrolled in the final academic year of degree programme in information and communication technology or related area; or f pursuing their studies in countries where higher education is not divided into undergraduate and graduate stages, have completed at least three years of fulltime studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of an information and communication technology degree or related degree.

    Problem-solving skills – identifying issues or ways to improve systems that are already in place is a key job function, therefore must be a critical thinker who can successfully troubleshoot and solve problems.
