    Requirements for Appointment
    For appointment to this grade, one must have:-

    Certificate in water engineering with 3 years’ experience OR
    Artisan I with three (3) years’ experience OR
    Artisan II or Grade I with 3 years’ experience OR
    Artisan III with 6 years’ experience
    Experience in water reticulation systems in a learning institution is an added advantage.

    Job description
    Essential Functions

    Cleans air conditioning and heating units (e.g. coils, condensation pans, drain lines, cooling towers, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring units are operating correctly and within safety guidelines.
    Diagnoses causes of problems and/or failures in heating/air conditioning systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs.
    Fabricates equipment parts for the purpose of meeting specialty needs and/or replacing unavailable parts.
    Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for th purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with building and safety regulations.
    Installs HVAC and refrigeration systems and components (e.g. hot water heaters, filters, kilns, etc.) for the purpose of providing comfort, sanitation and safety within facilities.
    Monitors contract work for the purpose of ensuring contract terms are fulfilled and work standards are met.
    Monitors HVAC systems and their components (e.g. heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, etc.) for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive maintenance.
    Operates a variety of equipment (e.g. electrical and diagnostic tools, etc.) for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently.
    Participates in meetings, workshops, training, and seminars, as assigned, for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions.
    Performs routine and preventive maintenance for the purpose of resolving immediate operational and/or safety concerns and providing for preventive maintenance.
    Prepares written materials (e.g. repair status, activity logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying information.
    Repairs heating and air conditioning systems and/or components (e.g. pumps, motors, air handlers, fan coils, piping, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring a comfortable work environment.
    Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair.
    Responds to emergency situations during or after hours and be on 24-hour call for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
    Transports a variety of tools, equipment, and supplies for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site.

    Job Requirements

    Diploma in Electrical, air condition or refrigeration or related field
    At least 5 years of related experience HVAC mechanic and EMS technician in a commercial, industrial or large facilities environment
    Prior experience working in Data Centres/ Banks/ Telecomm & other IT industries.
    Job related experience within a specialized field is required
    Proficiency in the diagnosis and calibration of EMS control systems (Energy Management System Control).

    We are looking for an excellent Head of engineer with experience of managing teams and leading projects. having Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 10-years experience in the construction industry. Preparation of priced bills of quantity, preparation and management fo work schedules, preparation of project implementation plans, quality and budget control. Experience within at least three large and high-value projects.
    Successful candidate must be able to:

    Manage and direct a multi-disciplinary team of engineering personnel, that is fully responsible for all aspects of engineering activities and projects within the organization, including but not limited to initial pricing and design for tendering purposes, preparation of detailed designs implementation plans and work schedules upon award and full oversight of site construction activities through to handover.
    Ensure that all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in full conformance with the organization’s established policies and objectives. Ensure that all projects are in full compliance with both the contractor proposal and the client specification, with particular emphasis on quality and adherence to the work schedule.
    Liaise with all departments within the organisation as and when necessary, and provide the necessary support as may be required, in order to secure new business as well as successfully implement projects in hand.
    Assume full control of project budget, through the full lifecycle of the project.

    Job Objective: To coordinate facilities and operational services of the University and ensure that university resources are at all times in a usable state to support learning activities.
    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Ensure that repairs and maintenance schedules are prepared, approved and implemented procedurally;
    Ensure that university facilities are in working condition to support learning;
    Manage the security system of the entire University;
    Manage the University fleet/transport;
    Develop, implement and monitor the infrastructure management and maintenance policy;
    Oversee the construction new/renovated facilities;
    Oversee the design of new infrastructure;
    Ensure facilities and grounds are well maintained;
    Identify and recommend short and long-term needs related to infrastructure maintenance;

    Manage the University asset register;

    Point of contact in leasing the University’s grounds and facilities to external parties/bodies.

    Qualifications and Experience
    The candidate should possess the following qualifications and experience

    4 to 5 years relevant work experience

    Location: Distribution Centre (Kisumu)
    Purpose:
    BBOXX refurbish and repair all of the products that it sells these include control units, TVs, radios, lights and solar panels. The repair technician will report to the Repair Supervisor and will be responsible for repair and refurbishment processes.
    Responsibilities:

    Repair and refurbish all BBOXX components/appliances 
    Escalate all unsolvable issues to product support 
    Follow BBOXX refurbishment processes
    Maintain a clean and tidy working area
    Use best practices in stock management 
    Accurately report of all repairs and refurbishments

    Description of tasks: 

    Diagnose issues using flowcharts
    Replace parts using standard workshop tools
    Use online guides to assist with refurbishments
    Use BBOXX specific tools to re-programme control units
    Use BBOXX software to record repair and refurbishments
    Record all spare parts used 
    Discuss issues with product support
    Use a root cause analysis framework to communicate clearly
    Regularly tidy the refurbishment area 
    Make suggestions for processes improvement
    Share best practices on how to repair BBOXX products

    Qualification and Specifications: 

    Bachelor Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
    T2 Licence is an added advantage but not a must 
    Experience of 3 years in electronics repair (e.g. home appliances)

    Experience in repair and maintenance of MB Actros Volvo – Trucks
    Experience in mechanical maintenance

    Experience and knowledge in Pneumatic and Hydraulic Systems
    Experience in welding/fabricating
    Operate equipment in a safe and professional manner

    Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering. The incumbent should have a minimum of Five (5) years’ working experience on main contractor operated sites. S/he should be proficient in AutoCAD, Revit structures and robot analysis and be familiar with the programming and scheduling of building projects.
