    Your Tasks and Responsibilities;

    Undertake truck repair effectively as per the job card so as to reduce mechanical breakdowns and downtime.
    To attend to all electrical breakdown promptly to minimize on downtime.
    To conduct a comprehensive pre trip check on the trucks as per the checklist.
    To perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems and components as per schedule.
    Maintaining vehicle functionality by testing electrical systems and components.
    Making work orders and material requests for vehicles
    Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner
    Maintain company records and details of work done
    Maintain workshop cleanliness and ensure any unused parts are returned to the store before close of the day’s work.
    To clean and tidy any site or work area after use (if appropriate)
    To co-operate with the company in complying with relevant health and safety legislation, policies and procedures in the performance of your duties 
    Any other duties that may be assigned by your Supervisor.

    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    Diploma in Auto Electrical Engineering or Artisan National Trade Test Certificate Grade III.
    Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D+ or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
    At least 5 years’ experience in the motor vehicle industry, preferably with Mercedes Benz trucks.
    Good manual skills, accuracy and precision
    Organizational and time management skills
    Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and busy environment.

    Proven experience in managing a workshop, including the supervision of mechanics and other technical staff.

    ABOUT THE ROLE
    The Water and Construction Technician will play a crucial role in the successful execution of the various construction, water treatment (reverse osmosis), pipeline extensions and ground water projects. The candidate is responsible for implementing and supervising a wide range of construction activities under the guidance of the water and construction engineer.     PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Interpreting and implementing construction and renovations plans and specifications from engineers and architects.
    Assisting in the coordination and monitoring of various contractors and construction workers.
    Ensuring that all regulations, safety codes, and health standards are adhered to strictly.
    Conducting on-site inspections and reviewing construction/renovations materials to validate quality and adherence to specifications.

    Required Experience Essential

    Minimum of two (2) years’ in water and sanitation project design, supervision, contract management, tendering, community & authority engagement and budgeting.
    Experience in the WASH and construction sector in the arid and semi-arid (ASAL) regions, preferably in Turkana County.

    Cleans grease scale and oxides from metal parts using alkaline and acid solutions, electrolysis and mechanical methods such sand blasting, tumbling and buffing.
    Washes and buffs metal parts to remove poisonous or corrosive deposits and to improve finish.
    Perform operator maintenance on electric and oxyacetylene welding equipment.

    BASIC JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    Must speak, read and understand English language.

    Must have a valid country Professional driver’s license with restriction code at least 2.
