    Job summary

    We are looking for a dynamic, highly talented, motivated, and resourceful candidate to fill in the Machine Operator Position

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    To clean & sanitize the filling equipment/machine as per set SOPs.
    To have the supervisor inspect the cleaned & sanitized equipment and place a ‘clean’ status sticker after approval.
    To replace the ‘clean’ status sticker on the equipment with the ‘in use’ sticker giving details of the product being filled.
    Ensure product packaging components are appropriately coded as per batch release notes.
    To inform the QA inspector when all is ready for approval before filling.
    To fill the product maintaining right weights as per QA standard reference.
    Ensure adherence to GMP, QMS and SOPs.
    Clean and sanitize cleaning equipment after process.
    Meet set line targets.
    Ensure smooth flow of lines with minimal downtimes
    Avoid generation of waste by doing right thing first.
    Any unavoidable waste generated should be segregated and put in the respective waste bin.
    Use all the safety gears/PPE’s as required.
    Comply with all OHS/EHS stipulated rules/Regulations.
    Attend and participate in daily safety briefings.

    Qualifications:

    Minimum Diploma in mechanical Engineering and above
    Training related to production will be an added advantage

    The Head of Project Engineering will lead the project engineering function for our Solar +BESS+ Diesel/Gas hybrid installations with or without MV/LV distribution networks, providing leadership, ensuring high standards of design, quality, and cost-effectiveness, while bridging knowledge gaps across multiple teams. She/He will oversee the full design lifecycle from concept to detailed design and commissioning, ensuring integration of electrical, mechanical, and civil elements into a unified and efficient project engineering process.

    Activities:

    Leadership & Team Management:

    Design & Technical Oversight:

    Provide technical leadership in optimizing designs for cost efficiency, system performance, and ease of installation and maintenance.
    Interface with other departments such as BD, Investments, Supply Chain etc to ensure client/project needs are met and BD leads/projects are closed.

    Quality Assurance & Process Improvement:

    Develop and implement engineering processes, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and quality across all designs.
    Establish a robust quality control system to reduce errors, minimize rework, and manage risk in the design process.
    Continuously refine and improve the engineering processes to drive efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

    Project Lifecycle Activities Management:

    Oversee project designs from conception to construction, ensuring designs are aligned with project goals and client expectations.
    Coordinate closely with project management and construction contractors to ensure seamless transition from design to execution.
    Ensure compliance with all design safety, environmental, and regulatory standards throughout the design and execution stages.

    Stakeholder Management:

    Qualifications

    Competencies:

    Education:

    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering (with strong experience in renewable energy systems).

    Experience:

    Minimum of 10 years of experience in designing and engineering renewable energy systems, with at least 5 years in Solar +BESS+ Diesel/Gas hybrid installations and MV/LV distribution networks.
    Extensive experience in design management and leading engineering teams, preferably in the C&I and mini-grid sectors.
    Proven experience managing design processes for projects ranging from 500 kWp to 10 MWp.

    Skills:

    Deep knowledge of Solar +BESS+ Diesel/Gas hybrid installations and MV/LV distribution networks design.
    Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, PVSyst, Helioscope, etc.).

    The main focus of the role is to implement and maintain best practice of environment, health and safety standards within the Green Leaf Threshing factory and the leaf centres within the country, as well as within Operations and Commercial Functions, in line with legal and corporate requirements.     Your key responsibilities will include:

    Operations/ Professional/ Business

    Preparation and execution of the annual sustainability plans via IWS(Integrated Work System).
    Daily inspection of the premises for identification of unusual activities/situations that may be regarded as potential hazards.
    Daily monitoring of contractors’ activities for compliance to the EHS guidelines and Permit To Work process.
    Weekly inspection of first aid kits and collation of incident reports.
    Monthly inspection of fire equipment, fire alarm and suppression systems
    Carrying out induction training for all new contractor employees and site entry assessments.
    Preparing and planning for EHS inhouse trainings.
    Participation in incident accident investigations.
    Monitoring of the waste management/segregation process.
    Management of the fumigation and pest control programme.
    Participation in project meetings.
    Performance review of 3rd party vendors with regards to Sustainability.

    Management

    Ensure implementation of the fire alarm, fumigation ,maintenance of fire fighting equipment and effluent treatment contracts are carried out correctly and on time.
    Ensure availability of adequate and quality personal protective equipment.
    Ensure that all contractors fully understand the procedures to follow to safeguard the environment and the health and safety of their activities.
    Execution of comprehensive risk assessments for all the key activities in the plant and leaf operations.
    Ensure adequate and effective proactive controls are in place to mitigate all risks in the plan and leaf operations

    Leadership

    Co-ordinating internal EHS Reviews and audits.
    Prepare and manage all EHS records and documentation.
    Coordinate firefighting team in the event of an emergency and first aid team in the event of need.
    Organize specialized inhouse training for first aiders and fire fighters.
    Co-ordinating the various statutory/corporate medical check ups for staff and contractors onsite.

    What are we looking for?

    Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or another Engineering discipline. A qualification in EHS/Sustainability will be an added advantage.
    5 years’ experience in a factory set up (FMCG, pharma, oil and gas).
    Good knowledge of MS Office package; SAP knowledge represents an added advantage.
    Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

    At the same time, the global programme management services ensure that the Executive Committee receives timely, accurate, relevant and high-quality project proposals, financial and substantive reports, and information about the implementation of actions on the ground. At the 93rd ExCom and in line with the request of the Government of Kenya submitted through UNEP as lead implementing agency, ExCom approved funds for the preparation of the KIP of Kenya. With the objective of establishing the basis for the preparation of the KIP, UNEP requires a consultant to guide the conducting of national HFCs surveys and preparation of the KIP project in Kenya UNEP’s Business Plan for the years of 2023-2025 (UNEP/OzL.Pro/ExCom/91/25) is endorsed by the ExCom-91.
    Through the activities identified in this Business Plan, UNEP will assist the countries with implementing their HCFC phase-out responsibilities including preparing for the 2025 target and the total phase out, strengthening the government institutions in Article 5 countries responsible for implementing and reporting on their national strategies to comply with the Montreal Protocol, and sustaining Article 5 countries’ compliance with ozone depleting substance (ODS) phase out targets already met. The project services include preparation and implementation of HCFC Phase out Management Plans (HPMPs) Stages I, II, and III, Institutional Strengthening projects, preparation of KIP (HFC) phase down plans, and other technical assistant programmes.
    In this regard, the OzonAction expects the submission of very complex projects to ExCom-95 (a peak load for submissions). Therefore, the OzonAction requires support by a consultant to provide the technical assistance during national HFC surveys, drafting of survey reports, drafting of KIP project and during projects review process for complying with ExCom guidelines/policies.
    This position is home-based. During the assignment, the consultant will work under the direct supervision of the Montreal Protocol Regional Network Coordinator of Anglophone Network of Ozone Officers.

    Qualifications/special skills

    Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in engineering or environmental science or related area is required.
    A first university degree with a combination of two years professional and academic qualifications may be accepted in lieu of the advance degree.
    A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in engineering, environmental science, or related field Knowledge of technical issues of ozone depleting substances, experience in the implementation of Montreal Protocol activities and experience in data collection, review and management of HFCs or related substances is an added advantage
