    Senior Construction Manager DCC Project Coordinator Design Engineer

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate resources.
    Ensure that all civil & infrastructure activities are well planned and coordinated.
    Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations, project specifications and quality control.
    Direct and supervise construction workers and subcontractors.
    Assist in selection and oversee manpower, equipment, and materials to sustain the work efficiency and track inventory.
    Coordinate with PM for procurement of tools and materials to conform to the workloads, plans and schedules.
    Meet contractual conditions of performance.
    Provide technical expertise to resolve problems.
    Review reports from Supervisors/Foreman, and advise on corrective actions if project becomes behind schedule or over the budget.
    Prepare internal and/or external reports pertaining to job status.
    Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
    Negotiate terms of agreements, assist in drafting contracts and obtain permits and licenses.
    Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
    Review and report on cost submissions and payment certificates prepared by subcontractor for completeness of all necessary information and supporting documentation to substantiate the cost. Identify and request any/all missing documents and review that all supporting documents are properly correlated and cross referenced.
    Request, review and comment on, pricing information and its supporting documents such as but not limited to quotations, purchase orders, invoices, unit price-build-ups, measurement of quantities.
    Prepare unit prices benchmarks based on similar and/or analogous items.
    Review and supervise quantities measurement when required.
    Monitor and control efficient use of equipment.
    Utilize effective traffic control techniques to ensure safety of project site workers and those passing through a work zone.
    Implement effective safety measures on site and use safety management techniques to conduct incident investigations, identify deficiencies, and implement effective countermeasures.
    Ensure road design and construction practices integrate road safety best practices.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Skills and Experience:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
    Minimum 15 years’ experience in civil works focused on roads and infrastructure.
    MUST have extensive experience in review of roads and infrastructure designs.
    MUST have extensive knowledge of construction equipment.
    MUST have extensive experience in quality control of deliverables.
    Ability to work on multiple projects and with multiple teams.
    Ability to manage the workers and issue clear instructions.
    Strong communication skills.
    Extensive knowledge in AutoCAD.
    Knowledge and skills in MS Project.

    Implement risk management protocols to ensure compliance with safety and industry regulations.

    Budget and Resource Allocation:

    Manage project budgets, including material, equipment, and labor costs.
    Allocate resources efficiently to optimize project performance and ensure cost-effectiveness.
    Work with procurement teams to source and acquire necessary project materials.

    Team Leadership and Development:

    Lead and manage a team of site workers, electrical engineers and technical staff.
    Mentor and provide technical guidance to the engineering team.
    Oversee staff development through training, performance evaluations, and career growth initiatives.

    Project Management:

    Oversee the planning, design, and execution of electrical engineering projects from inception to completion.
    Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Master’s degree in a related engineering field is a plus.
    Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 2 years in a project management role.
    Experience in tendering and offer management is a plus
    Proven experience in leading and managing engineering teams.
    In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering principles, design standards, and industry regulations.
    Proficient in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP).
    Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

    The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the Nairobi, Kenya site maintenance organization focused on all aspects of maintenance. This position is responsible for both equipment and facilities planned and corrective maintenance along with MRO storeroom management.     Responsibilities:

    Utilization of maintenance strategy and TPM knowledge to drive autonomous maintenance capability at front line.
    Developing performance goals, calculating methods, targets and reporting tools (often based on benchmarking and/or diagnostic findings) as well as a daily management system consisting of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly tactical and strategic maintenance reviews to drive high performance.
    Development and implementation of a robust maintenance planning and scheduling program at the Kenya site to drive equipment reliability
    Responsible for the identification and implementation of cost savings projects in Repair & Maintenance to reduce cost and drive value.
    Lead the site sustainability agenda in conjunction with the Safety / Health and Environment (SHE) department
    Partner with Plant Leader and Steering Committee to coordinate maintenance activities across site.

    Experience you’ll bring:

    Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline required. Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics Engineering preferred.
    Minimum of 5 years of maintenance organization leadership experience
    Demonstrated experience with establishing and executing a maintenance reliability strategy

    Proficiency in mechanical design and diagnostics.
