    Requirements for Appointment
    Eligible candidates MUST possess a post graduate degree from a recognized university in any of the following disci plines:

    International Relations; 
    Economics;
    International Law; 
    Social Sciences; or
    International Diplomacy; 
    A relevant field; and
    Possess experience, knowledge or expertise in matters relating to Foreign and Diplomatic Service;
    Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010; and
    Teaching diplomacy or international relations in a university recognized in Kenya will be an added advantage.

    All interested applicants who meet the requirements above should submit their applications together with detailed curriculum vitae, copies of national identity card, academic and professional certificates and testimonials to email address recruitment@mfa.go.ke ;

    Essential

    Master’s degree in relevant field (political science, social sciences, economics, international humanitarian law, etc.)
    Expert knowledge of analytical methodologies, approaches and tools

    Excellent critical thinking skills
    Theoretical and practical experience of conflict sensitivity
    Diplomatic mindset

    Appetite for learning and making a difference in complex and challenging environments
    Record of research, publications and writing on humanitarian and development issues

    Desired

    Experience or knowledge of working and living in humanitarian contexts in East and Southern Africa.
    Background in quantitative analysis (/statistics) appreciated
