    Job Description
    The role of the Pond Supervisor is to ensure the highest level of egg and fingerlings production throughout all hatchery operations in the company. The individual will also be responsible for trainings, particularly with the pond crew, focusing on pond maintenance and fish health. One of the most important responsibilities of the position is to ensure that the Hatchery Department produces sustainable numbers of healthy fingerlings to increase and maintain projections of Victory Farms production plans. The position reports directly to the Hatchery Manager.
    Responsibilities:

    Monitor each pond early morning and report to the hatchery manager in case of any abnormalities observed (water color, fish gasping, scratching, disease, balance swimming etc.)
    Calculate all doses for lime, fertilizer, alum for pond use.
    Taking stocks of all pond Inputs (Lime, Fertilizer etc.) and report to manager to request when stock is at 50%. Ensure that there is always adequate supply on site.
    Training of the Pond Team on good practices in aquaculture and designing new protocols to improve on work. More specifically, the Assistant Hatchery Manager will (a) identify training needs; (b) design training curricula; and(c) implement training programs – all in conjunction with the Hatchery Manager.
    Collect and Analyse environmental data (physicho-chemical parameters) on the ponds. Ability to use a computer is a big advantage.
    Responsible for pond preparation activities for fingerlings and egg production.
    Responsible for the safe keeping, regular calibration and maintenance of all environmental monitoring equipment.
    Conduct research studies and surveys of the aquatic environment and ponds, and produce reports recommending appropriate courses of action for solutions.
    Responsible for organization and implementation of the protocols relating to pond preparation and water quality maintenance.
    Support all aspects of hatchery operations. This includes incubation unit, pond management unit, and feeding unit.
    Maintain all environmental-related equipment.
    Lead data collection, analysis and interpretation for all environmental parameters in ponds.

    Job Description
    The Quality systems officer ensures that the organizational process – and the goods and services that result – comply with the requirements of standards e.g. ISO 9001 as well as customer, regulatory and organizations own requirements.
    POSITION DESCRIPTION:

    Maintain the organizations documented quality management system (policies, procedures, work instructions)
    Control the generation, issue and distribution of documents and records both physical and electronic.
    Training of staff on basic procedures and instructions.
    Inspect and ensure measuring equipment is calibrated as required
    Evaluate production processes for compliance with quality requirements
    Assist in development of audit plans, audit schedules
    Carry out regular and random quality audits on all processes in the organization (and lead a team of quality auditors, when needed)
    Identify processes, situations, etc., where organization is meeting requirements, as well as identify opportunities for improvement
    Assist audit team in developing audit reports; present audit reports to top management, as needed
    Liaise with external/certification auditors and assist with follow-up audits, as required

    Skills, Competencies, Experience

    A bachelor’s degree is required (Agriculture, business management or environmental management)
    Certified quality auditor qualification will be an added advantage.
    Advanced word processing and computer files management skills
    Experience with auditing tools (e.g. control charts, ishikawa diagrams)
    Good listening, communication and presentation skills.
    Must be able to work with people at all levels of the organization.
    Must be able to work independently and as part of a diverse steam of auditors

    This position will be responsible for growing and producing primarily tomato crops.  The successful candidate will also be responsible for day to day running of the farm, supervising and coordinating activities of workers
    Responsibilities

    Oversee implementation of all phases of tomato production, including but not limited to ground prep, chemical application, irrigation, fertilizer application and pest and disease management
    Manage general farm operations including production and labor management to ensure farm operations are running efficiently and effectively
    Monitor quality of tomatoes in order to meet market expectations
    Plan daily/weekly/monthly activities and labor, provide a weekly and seasonal forecast regarding harvest and control operating costs vs budget
    Monitor accuracy of inventory by conducting regular inventory counts
    Maintain good agriculture practices and adhere to all food safety policies and procedures
    Must be willing to work late hours and on public holidays as work may demand

    Requirements

    Experience in Tomato Farming is preferred
    Proven managerial, supervisory and problem solving skills
    Bachelor’s or Diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy or related field
    Quality cautious and keen on detail
    Good farm and organizational management skills
    Good communication skills both written and spoken
    Proficient in relevant computer software
    With have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Crop Production
