    Duties/Responsibilities:

    Provide guidance in data entry and management of Aqua Manager.
    In coordination with the production manager the Analyst will, design computer application systems, modules and any software components needed to support Aquaculture production.
    Develop and maintain technical design documents and blueprints for software solutions including specifications and architectural design diagrams.
    Apply relevant emerging technologies, industry standards, best practices and provide input during Software Development Lifecycle
    Collect and record growth, production, and environmental data. Compile operational data and maintain operational records.
    Supervise and train aquaculture and fish hatchery support workers.
    Devise and participate in activities to improve fish hatching and growth rates, and to prevent disease in hatcheries.
    Developing monthly feed conversion ratio (FCR) and fish survival reports
    Confer with biologists, fish pathologists, and other fishery personnel to obtain data concerning fish habits, diseases, food, and environmental requirements.
    Provide support in ensuring dissolved oxygen, temperature, & Secchi disk readings are conducted every morning and afternoon to assess water quality.

    Qualifications:

    Strong data management background with a proven ability to interact with complex systems and large dataset.
    Computer science background, data management and analysis, and must be willing to learn about aquaculture.
    A University Degree in Agricultural/horticultural or Fisheries and Aquatic science or related agricultural field.
    5 years’ experience working in commercial aquaculture/poultry or flower farming
    Strong experience large-scale production systems, – Fish farming, flower farming or Poultry farming.
    Should have logistical and operational mindset.
    Should have strong teamwork and ability to function well in groups, including strong communication skills.
    Desire to learn and progress within the organization.
    Efficiency focused, with strong problem-solving skills.
    Dedicated to excellence and detail-oriented execution.
    Candidate must demonstrate a strong willingness and desire to relocate to rural Homabay, Kenya.

    Job Brief
    Greenblade Growers a subsidiary of Centum seeks to recruit a Farm Manager for its Tumaini Operations in Ol Kalou. The role reports to the General Manager.Key Responsibilities

    Manage the implementation of the farm operations by Unit heads and team leaders to ensure targeted supply of raw material to the packhouse is achieved
    Prepare and report raw material supply projections to the packhouse
    Coordinate the farm units to harvest and supply raw material to the packhouse
    Coordinate with the Finance and admin department the supply of inputs, tools, machinery services and other materials as per the farming programs issued by the general manager
    In consultation with farm unit heads prepare application details for sprays, fertilizers and irrigation.
    Coordinate the supply of shared services i.e. spray, irrigation and land preparation by the farm units
    Ensure all documentation and records regarding inputs usage are maintained as per legal and certification requirements.
    Organize the recruitment of labour in collaboration with Unit heads, team leaders and HR Officer
    Ensure labour deployed is utilized efficiently in the farm

    Minimum Education Qualifications

    A minimum of Diploma in Agriculture from an accredited institution

    Required Knowledge & Experience

    Over 3 years’ experience in a medium sized herbs farm
    Understanding of production of the following herbs; Chives, mint, thyme and Rosemary
    Thorough understanding of GLOBAL GAP, SMETA and TNC certification
    Understanding on legal requirements for farms
    Understanding on health and safety procedures for farms
    Understanding of Integrated Pest Management

    Key Responsibilities

    Work experience of not less than 1 year in smallholder farmers management schemes.

    EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES:

    Experience in cage aquaculture in large-scale production systems, including cage and mooring installation, fish handling, grading, harvesting and feeding.
    Strong knowledge of fish biology, nutrition and water quality, as well as animal health and pathology.
    Strong logistical and operational mindset
    Experience of establishing and implementing protocols and SOPs.
    Able to lead large teams (6-8 direct reports, overall responsibility for >100 people) in multiple work streams, including technical and logistics-intensive activities.
    Efficient in multi-tasking and accomplishing range of projects on schedule.
    Strong teamwork and ability to function well in groups, including strong communication skills.

    Furthermore, the ideal candidate would have experience in using Aqua Manager or similar fish management software, be a competent swimmer and scuba diver and experienced in handling small boats. Also, specific knowledge and experience with tilapia would be advantageous.
    Ideally, the candidate will also have experience of working in a rural environment within a developing country. In cases without developing country experience, candidate must demonstrate a strong willingness and desire to relocate to Kenya.
    In addition to the daily workload within the production department, we expect the Production Manager to assist in supporting and creating processes within other departments.

    Coordination of harvestings and advising the management of daily harvestings.

    Prepare routine and special reports to production staff, management and regulatory agencies as required such as analytical results as well as advising and guiding management on areas of improvement based on the data collected

    QUALIFICATIONS
