    What you will be doing

    Conducting Enumerator/Agent Training.
    Help set project budgets, Recordkeeping for expenses and reconciliation against the budget for each project
    Field management support for crop cut exercise.

    Assisting in product launches when required.

    Help with internal data audits when required

    What you will need to be successful

    A BSc degree in Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, a degree in Business/project management or related field.
    Experience with (2 years) and proven skills in working with clients, project teams, farmers, field teams and agro dealers.
    Experience in data collection and data management.
    Skills to interact with clients, farmers, field teams and agro dealers.
    Ability to work independently in a multi-disciplinary, multi-institutional, and multicultural environment
    Must have a motorbike
    Excellent communication and organizational skills
    Intermediate Excel skills is an added advantage

    Essential Job Responsibilities
    STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP

    Works closely with the Chief of Party (CoP) to develop and guide overall strategic and technical vision and drive the program’s innovative, evidence-based, adaptation approach.
    Ensure program vision, implementation modalities, and operational mechanisms are consistently communicated and internalized by all program team members, partners and stakeholders; facilitate by-in across partners and stakeholders.

    PROGRAM MANAGEMENT AND QUALITY

    Manages the consolidated consortium workplan and is responsible for execution and tracking of work plans, ensuring the program is on time, on scope, and on budget, and that program plans are well coordinated with operational support functions (procurement, people and culture, etc.). Ensure that the program work plan consistently is adaptive to learning and contextual changes.
    Adapts and develops context and program-specific guidance, tools and training to advance the integration of resilience-thinking and evidence to impact into program systems.
    Leads the continuous review and adaptation of detailed implementation plans, flowing from annual workplan development, and supports the delivery of the same.
    Ensure adaptive management, learning and reflective practices against work plans are adopted across the implementation team and facilitate improved decision-making.
    Inform program systems to ensure the intervention is generating relevant information that is being used for ongoing learning, program analysis and decision-making while also capturing results at the output and impact level.
    Inform and actively participate in pause and reflect sessions, sense-making workshops and ongoing program adaptations; ensure program data is used for learning and decision making.

    KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT AND COMMUNICATION

    Provides oversight and coordination of all learning, M&E, and research efforts to facilitate information flow and the utilization of evidence in programmatic decisions and adaptive management.
    Supports information systems and procedures to ensure easy access to and utilization of evidence collected and processed by the program team.
    Develops the capacity of the program teams to capture and package success stories (including resilience storytelling) and learning; supports in the packaging of content and information for key internal and external audiences.

    Monitor program activities to ensure adherence to grant agreements, Mercy Corps’ policies and procedures and other relevant regulations, including those of USAID and the Government of Kenya.
    Work closely with support functions in Kenya, regional and headquarters to ensure highest compliance and program performance.
    Ensure all interventions adhere to Mercy Corps’ Gender Policy, Do No Harm principles, and beneficiary accountability standards.

    INFLUENCE AND REPRESENTATION

    Lead the socialization of the program with Government stakeholders, USAID, Technical Steering Committee ensuring necessary approvals and collaboration as required.
    Contribute to program visibility and advocacy work by assisting in the dissemination of program research and learning information. Represent Mercy Corps in forums with the broader humanitarian and development community.
    Identify, build and manage collaborative partnerships with consortium partners, sub-grantees, donors, local governments and other stakeholders.
    Actively contribute and collaborate with regional and global counterparts to promote best practices within the program.
    Communicate effectively across teams and partners to ensure overall project targets and donor obligations are met.

    SECURITY

    Objective and Scope of the Study
    The purpose of the DONUTS Kenya coffee project baseline study is to determine and document reference data and information for defined indicators under the following three (3) components:

    Diversification, alternative/additional Income for coffee farmers in targeted cooperative societies
    Climate change and environment resilience, mitigation
    Inclusive and democratic coffee cooperative societies

    The study will utilize standard UN definitions and metrics for measuring social economic status of Coffee producers in the target cooperative societies. This information is considered critical in setting targets for each project indicators/metrics
    Methodology and Approach to the baseline study
    The applicant is expected to;

    Develop suitable methodology (including sample size), appropriate study design and data collection instruments for use in the study. These will be approved by FTA before adoption and use.
    Utilize mixed methods (qualitative and quantitative approaches) for triangulation and data/information verification/validation purposes.
    Conduct in-depth data analysis to estimate baseline figures for the project.
    Draw comparison of the baseline data and information with other areas of the sector including national benchmarks.
    Provide key information and context of the project’s target groups and operational areas for more effective targeting and delivery of project’s interventions.

    Deliverables of the Assignment
    The successful consultant/firm will be required to produce the following outputs:

    An inception report complete with narrative in line with the ToR, Data instruments, timeframe/workplan among other sections.
    Complete baseline study report with data for each indicator as described in the logframe.

    Consultancy Timeframe
    The consultant is expected to submit ALL deliverables outlined above within four (4) weeks in the month of March/April , 2023. The preferred start date for this assignment is March 15, 2023.

    The programme specialist will perform the following key functions:

    Identify existing challenges and bottlenecks in relation to private sector and youth opportunities in the feed & fodder sector, including around innovations and technologies, and linkage with research.
    Document current activities and initiatives that address those challenges and identify proven solutions across the feed and fodder sector.
    Formulate opportunities on how to scale those solutions, into a zero draft for a regional flagship programme on youth employment, resilience and climate adaptation (through feed & fodder).
    Technically support and advice FAO Kenya and FAO Ethiopia teams in the implementation of their activities.
    Support the overall coordination, documentation and reporting on the MCF reprogramming project, ensuring the early identification of challenges and course corrections (if needed).     CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING

    Minimum Requirements

    Advanced university degree in climate/land/water/environment, agribusiness & youth employment, or equivalent.
    Minimum of five years’ experience in implementing climate/land/water/environment, agribusiness and/or youth employment, in the international development sector.
    Working knowledge (level C) of English, French or Spanish and limited knowledge (level B) of one of the other two or Arabic, Chinese, Russian. For PSA, working knowledge of English would suffice.

    The position will manage projects and provide technical and scientific support for elements of TNC’s Africa Fisheries Strategy. The position supports the coordination and implementation of priority projects and acts as a technical resource on sustainable fisheries and community-led conservation. The position will apply a diversified knowledge of fisheries-related scientific principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments, from research, analysis and writing, capacity building, strategy development, project coordination and management support, and engagement with private sector seafood actors and traceability systems.
    The Responsibilities And Scope For This Position Are

    Providing project management support, leading desk-based research and analyses, and co-leading local and international training workshops with country programs.
    Participating in, and providing technical support towards strengthening or building successful community-led governance models (e.g. fisheries Beach Management Units, Community Conservancies, Community Forest Associations, Shehia Fisher Committees, fisher cooperatives, etc) for sustainable fisheries and coastal management

    What You’ll Bring

    BA/BS degree in natural resources management, conservation, or another related field of study with 5 years of related work experience in conservation practice, project management, policy, fundraising or other related experience.

    Major Functions:
    The Coordinator is responsible for overall coordination and leadership of the national forest programme,strategic and technical support of the WWF-Kenya Forest work.     Major Duties and Responsibilities

    Provide strategic guidance and technical oversight for the systematic growth and diversification of WWF-K forest work in line with WWF-Kenya’s Strategic Plan 2020-2030 and WWF network forest programme while adopting the Global Best Practices.
     Influence the country’s National Forest Programme (NFP) including policy and technical commitments under the Bonn Challenge/AFR 100 and other regional and global MEAs related to forestry.
    Identify and build strategic alliances and partnerships with Civil Society Organizations and networks, private sector, and government and non-governmental agencies to lobby and advocate for improved governance of forests in the country. This will involve routine participation in review

    Advice and support planning and implementation of targeted scientific studies and surveys to generate new information and innovative ideas to address specific issues of interest to our forest work aligning to WWF-Kenya’s Strategic Plan.
    Lead WWF-Kenya’s effective participation and contribution to regional and international Forest processes to share/leverage lessons and broaden partnerships for sustainable forest management and conservation in Kenya.
    Coordinate documentation and sharing of lessons learnt across WWF-Kenya Programmes and the region, including profiling forest conservation achievements through the Communication Unit.

    Required Qualifications and Experience

    At least a Masters’ Degree in Forestry Management and other closely related fields. A Ph.D in the above fields would be an added advantage.
    At least 10 years professional experience in Environmental and Natural Resources management, preferably in Sustainable Forest Management and Biodiversity Conservation related work in Kenya.
    Past experience in engagement with Civil Society Organizations and Networks, Private Sector, and Government Agencies on advocacy work on improved natural resources management.
    Past experience in development and implementation of Strategic Plans and demonstrated success in resource mobilization.
