    The Operations Assistant will work with World Vision’s Impact and Engagement group who work across the globe.     SCOPE OF WORK:
    The Deputy Regional Director for Programs in the Asia region will provide a range of strategic, management and programmatic support to the countries.  The DRDP focuses primarily on program quality, in all aspects, including design, implementation, monitoring and budgeting.  The DRDP liaises closely with other members of the regional team, as well as country management and HQ staff in NY, London and European offices.  The DRDP supports the RD in advocacy and management initiatives to ensure strong, consistent, and high quality management of the region as a whole.  The DRDP is required to travel regularly to country offices to provide management support and monitor program quality, as well as to participate in strategic planning sessions and regional meetings.  The DRDP reports to the Regional Director.
    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    Strategy

    Work closely with the Regional Director to ensure that the IRC’s global strategy is understood and guides decision-making throughout the region.
    Drive institutionalization of the Outcomes and Evidence Framework, IRC’s program design tools.
    Support delivery of country-level Strategy Action Plans (SAP). Facilitate and coordinate regional participation in global strategy discussions, initiatives and pilots.
    Oversee implementation of SAP monitoring mechanism and review process, including leading annual SAP reviews and reporting.
    Build consensus around a common vision of what shared success in Asia looks like, including developing and tracking appropriate indicators.

    Leadership & Coordination

    Supervise and mentor direct-report staff, including communicating clear expectations, setting performance objectives, providing regular and timely performance feedback, and leading documented semi-annual performance reviews.
    Provide leadership to increase country programs’ coordination, collaboration, communication and harmonization of programming.
    Facilitate close and efficient coordination of regional staff’s support to the country programs, and with headquarters departments on common programming, and funding issues.
    Coordinate with regional INGOs, Donors and UN representatives in Asia.

    Innovation & Program Quality

    Manage the region’s relationships with the Technical Units (TUs), and support TU-country program collaboration to optimize impact on program quality within and across country programs.
    Strengthen the region’s readiness to respond to new emergencies in line with global IRC emergency response and preparedness guidelines.
    Facilitate sharing and learning across countries, and support country programs to incorporate learning from other regions into project design and operations management.
    Coordinate the region’s engagement with IRC’s R&D lab.
    Engage the regional team and country programs in on-going context analysis to ensure IRC programs are continually adapted to the evolving contexts across the region.

    Business Development & Partnerships

    In coordination with the IRC’s Awards Management Unit, provide focused business development support to country programs, building country capacity to win multi-year and high value projects.
    Take go/no-go decisions regarding pursuit of regional funding opportunities. In coordination with Regional director and Country Directors, engage in strong regional-level representation with governments, donors, international and local NGOs.
    Ensure timely submission of competitive, responsive and high-quality proposals that align with country priorities identified in Strategy Action Plans, and support country program colleagues in negotiations with donors.
    Oversee the design and implementation of IRC’s work in partnership to support and build capacities of local civil society and other key stakeholders, positioning IRC as a valued INGO partner.
    Participate in shaping policy positions and advocacy messages pertaining to the overall humanitarian situation and IRC’s response in Asia. 
    Advise country programs in networking and alliance-building activities, promoting cross-sectoral engagement with the private sector, universities, research institutions, and other potential “non-traditional” partners.
    Support the development of country business development plans which marry the priority outcomes identified in each country SAP with the priorities of existing and new donors.

    The Senior Director of Enterprise Architecture, will report to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and be responsible for expanding World Vision International’s use of information technology as a strategic enabler of the Partnership’s goals and objectives. The Enterprise Architect (EA) will achieve this by strategically designing, developing, managing and implementing process models for enterprise-level applications, systems and solutions. This leader will be the primary advocate for EA methodologies, processes, and best practices.
    Responsible for the leadership of the Enterprise Architecture functions including Strategy and Planning, Oversight, and Enterprise Management.     About The Position
    The Director of National Elephant Action Plans (NEAPs) is responsible for providing strategic oversight and programmatic direction for National Elephant Action Plans across Africa. W orking independently and as part of a small team based in Nairobi and London, and in partnership with government, IGO and NGO partners in Africa and elsewhere, they will play a pivotal role in supporting African governments and partner NGOs to develop, review and implement NEAPs – utilizing the NEAP Standards and Guidelines and assisting with their periodic review process.
    They are responsible for senior-level program management and ensuring that program strategies, initiatives and outcomes advance the Elephant Protection Initiative’s human development and conservation priorities. Duties are diverse, and include designing and implementing program and conservation strategies, project management, technical oversight and monitoring, fundraising and capacity building. The Director of NEAPs ensures compliance with EPI policies, program and funding agreements, and local requirements.
    The EPI Director of NEAPs will be contracted to Stop Ivory, but will fulfil an EPI Secretariat function jointly managed by Stop Ivory and Conservation International. They will report to and be tasked by the EPI Secretariat’s lead representative from both Stop Ivory and Conservation International, who work closely together on all aspects of EPI Implementation.
    Key Responsibilities

    Lead in the development and implementation of specific NEAP’s and NEAP associated projects by provide technical and coordination design
    Represent the EPI externally at key international conferences and other events to share best practices and lessons learned, and serve as a trusted point of contact for EPIEffectively engage stakeholders including donors, government and NGOs, technical colleagues and other partners important to program success.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Advanced degree in biological, environmental or conservation science or related field.
    A proven track record of not less than ten years of developing conservation programmes with Conservation INGO’s/NGOs, preferably in Africa.
    Proven track record of securing and managing large grants, contractual agreements and project budgets
    Proven project management experience for cross-border projects and/or multi-site projects.
    Ability to engage with a variety of audiences from grass roots to high ranking government and/or donors.
    Successful experience in negotiating complex agreements with governments, NGO’S and other key supporters
    Exceptional project management skills.
    Fluency in English, both written and verbal is a must. Working knowledge of French or Portuguese is an added advantage.

    Job Description
    Under the direct supervision of the UN Women Country Director, the Operations Manager serves as a member of the senior management team, with oversight responsibilities for all aspects of Country Office (CO) operations. This includes strategic financial and human resources management, efficient procurement and logistical services, security management, ICT and common services consistent with UN Women rules and regulations. The Operations Manager additionally serves as a key advisor to the UN Women Country Director on matters of organizational integrity with the aim of ensuring: (i) compliance with UN Women policies and regulations; (ii) effective systems to support programme delivery and growth; (iii) accountability to organizational values and principles; and (iv) an enabling workplace environment in which staff potential is maximized.
    The Operations Manager leads and guides the CO Operations Team and fosters collaboration within the team, with programme staff and with other UN Agencies and a client-oriented approach. The Operations Manager works in close collaboration with programme teams in the Office, providing close guidance to programme staff who perform adjunct operations functions, ensuring that such staff are knowledgeable of rules and procedures governing programme finances, donor reporting, and personnel.     Duties and Responsibilities
     
    Manage and oversee the operations within the Region:

    Serve as a member of the Senior Management team and provide advice and support to the Country Director and Deputy Country Director on operational issues;

    Review the annual workplan for the Operations Team and oversee its implementation and monitoring;

This team is also responsible for generating revenue from and partnering effectively with government(s), major foundations, and other major donors, and will help to position and enhance CMMB’s technical capacity and reputation in the field of global healthcare.
    CMMB has been working in Kenya for almost 15 years. CMMB works to ensure that the most vulnerable populations, especially mothers and children, have access to quality services in health care, health promotion and illness prevention.
    Position Overview
    You are responsible for the overall leadership and management of the CMMB Kenya country portfolio. CMMB’s current portfolio in Kenya includes: CMMB’s CHAMPS programs and a variety of HIV/AIDS focused programs, which are funded from bilateral and multilateral grants/contracts, contributions from private individuals and institutions, Volunteers, and gifts-in-kind of medical supplies.
    You must be an innovative thinker, ready to empower staff to achieve CMMB corporate strategic goals, and lead change initiatives which ensure that CMMB maximizes its mission and vision. You will direct the implementation of all aspects of CMMB Kenya’s programs, in partnership with the global staff of CMMB, ensuring the quality and impact of its health program in Kenya. You must be well-versed in office repositioning and able to oversee changes to program operations, finance, and human resources.
    In this position, you will report to the Senior Vice President, Programs and Volunteers, based in CMMB’s headquarters in New York City, and receives technical and other support from additional U.S.-based staff and teams. As CMMB’s representative in-country, you have overall responsibility and accountability for all of CMMB’s programs, finances, assets and legal standing in Kenya.
    Responsibilities

    Leadership, Representation and Networking

    Foster the development of an organizational culture of excellence and teamwork, focusing on effective strategy execution, high impact programming and strong accountability, as well as innovation, continuous learning and institutional improvement.

    Network with all major donors and members of the international health community to raise CMMB’s visibility and value.

    Programmatic and Technical Management

    Guide development of CMMB Kenya multi-year program strategy and direct implementation of these plans.
    Ensure that the technical aspects of all programs are of the highest quality, calling upon technical resources available within CMMB Global.
    Lead the overall CHAMPS implementation, project management, and monitoring and evaluation processes in Kenya. Work closely with CMMB Headquarters in developing and implementing CHAMPS sites in Kenya, supporting their development with detailed proposals with an eye on ensuring high-quality program logic that can be feasibly delivered within proposed local context, including maximizing integration with governmental, multilateral, and bilateral and other grant portfolios, as possible.
    Ensure that CMMB-managed health programs have the appropriate technical staff to lead programmatic activities, overseeing program staff and providing technical and program management input, as appropriate.
    Coordinate with partners and lead, guide and manage CMMB in-country staff to ensure programs meet their project goals, objectives and targets.
    Ensure consistent program monitoring and evaluation activities, including necessary site visits, to measure and report, on a timely basis, project and program outcomes. Share success stories with CMMB globally for communications purposes.
    Manage volunteer placements and programmatic grants, as well as any pharmaceutical donations .
    Ensure Monitoring and Evaluation processes are implemented to provide measurement of achievement and progress toward project goals.
    Ensure the timely submission of well-prepared annual program plans and budgets and annual reports.

    Resource Mobilization

    Raise the profile of CMMB through effective marketing materials and outreach.
    Develop partnership relationships and ensure the organization has good business intelligence related to funding opportunities.
    Develop new program and funding opportunities for CMMB at the country level and/or regionally in conjunction with Senior Vice President, Programs and Volunteers, and the Director of Business Development. This includes ensuring proper approval, timely submission of creative and well-written proposals that are compatible with CMMB’s strategic direction and Country Office priorities.
    Ensure programmatic successes are documented for individual and institutional donor fundraising purposes.
    Guide development of CMMB Kenya business development plans and direct implementation of these plans.

    Human Resources Management

    Provide leadership of all country operations, establishing a cohesive management team and clear reporting roles for all levels of program and staff management.
    In collaboration with HQ Human Resources VP, design and implement a coherent organizational structure that is consistent with CMMB’s practices and appropriate to program needs.
    Support, encourage and help build up the capacity of the coordinators and managers to effectively execute CMMB Kenya’s program strategies.
    Ensure CMMB Kenya operates in compliance with local labor laws and requirements.

    Financial Management

    Demonstrate sound stewardship and ensure strong financial management and protection of the organization’s assets.
    Ensure the prudent use of donor resources, ensuring all expenditures comply with rules and regulations.
    With the assistance of the Finance Team, ensure that systems are in place for the proper control of assets, funds, equipment, property and facilities. Ensure that all budgets are tracked consistently and financial reports are accurate and timely, consistent with donor requirements. Identify cost-savings, where feasible, and plan strategically for financial resource use.

    Participate in audits.
    Safety & Security

    Stay current on the general security challenges in-country and daily security status of our staff, programs and the operational areas where we implement our programs.
    Maintain a proactive position in coordinating closely with the appropriate local security network and ensuring security and safety protocols are maintained in the country office, thus ensuring the security of staff, Volunteers,
    visitors and physical assets.
    Coordinate closely on security related needs and issues and keeps the SVP Programs well informed.

    Qualifications

    You have a master’s degree in Public Health, International Development or similar development-related subject.
    You have at least 8-10 years of work experience out of which at least 5 years in senior management positions successfully leading large operations involving internal and external representation, donor relations, fundraising, and leadership of high performing teams.
    You have proven track record of working in Kenya, partnering with government agencies, NGOs and civil society organizations.
    You have demonstrated expertise in managing Maternal and Child Health Projects, and health system strengthening projects, WASH/nutrition, and/or HIV/AIDS programs.
    Your program management, implementation, fundraising, monitoring and evaluation skills are strong and put you as respected leader in this area
    You believe in people and have the demonstrated track record of developing others, building and leading effective teams to deliver mission and program results.
