    Role Purpose:
    As a member of the East and Southern Africa regional office operations team, the Operations Manager acts as a coordinating focal point for operational issues, providing support to designated Country Office (CO) operational delivery across the full spectrum of Save the Children programmes in both development and humanitarian response activities, ensuring effective information flows and assistance in adherence to SCI operations procedures/standards.
    The Operations Manager will support CO operations staff in managing development & humanitarian efforts and will provide directional advice to the country programme in concurrence with the Country Director and ESARO team. The post-holder will effectively and efficiently support operations systems, processes and activities so that programmes are delivered on time according to organisational strategy, donor requirements and within allocated budgets.
    S/he will take leadership on aspects related to staffing structure and management, awards, security and logistics systems and will play a strategic role in the effective scale up and management of Save the Children development & humanitarian programmes to increase impact and enable positive change for children in the East Africa region.

    Qualifications and Experience

    Extensive program and operations management experience in international development and humanitarian programs, including
    Demonstrated ability to set up operational management systems in a large complex programme
    Direct experience of delivery of humanitarian programs, in a technical or operational role, in at least 3 different contexts
    Senior management role within a complex country programme and/or in a large scale emergency response
    Previous experience of managing technical/programme/operations/support teams in large-scale first phase emergency response is essential
    Knowledge of international humanitarian and development systems, institutions and donors (programmes (including ECHO, DFID and OFDA), and of procedures, accountability frameworks and best practices
    Demonstrated ability to thrive in a complex, matrix management environment. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching.
    In depth knowledge and experience of logistics systems and requirements in a multi field office, multi programme setting

    Strengthening and building on a diverse, flexible and innovative network of civil society organisations across key African countries committed to the prevention of armed conflicts – You will achieve this by closely cooperating with a wide range of civil society organisations, mainly from the East and Horn of Africa whose work enhances the protection of civilians and by delivering high impact advocacy and media work in collaboration with them. You will liaise with senior representatives from partner organisations as well as the media and become a resourceful and trusted counterpart for them. You will expand our network by proactively engaging with and recruiting new partner NGOs.
    Researching and analysing government policies to develop targeted strategies – Focusing on actual or potential conflicts that are of most strategic importance to our partners, you will ensure that Crisis Action provides valuable intel by investigating and analysing the policy positions of governments within the East and Horn of Africa states, the IGAD and EAC as well. You will ensure that Crisis Action builds an in-depth and sophisticated intelligence of these African governments and institutions’ positions towards relevant conflicts, the results of which will be top quality advice to partners on advocacy demands, strategy and suggestions for action. You will also be responsible for feeding this intelligence into our global groups, strategies and analysis.     SCOPE OF WORK:
    The Deputy Regional Director for Programs in the Asia region will provide a range of strategic, management and programmatic support to the countries.  The DRDP focuses primarily on program quality, in all aspects, including design, implementation, monitoring and budgeting.  The DRDP liaises closely with other members of the regional team, as well as country management and HQ staff in NY, London and European offices.  The DRDP supports the RD in advocacy and management initiatives to ensure strong, consistent, and high quality management of the region as a whole.  The DRDP is required to travel regularly to country offices to provide management support and monitor program quality, as well as to participate in strategic planning sessions and regional meetings.  The DRDP reports to the Regional Director.
    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    Strategy

    Work closely with the Regional Director to ensure that the IRC’s global strategy is understood and guides decision-making throughout the region.
    Drive institutionalization of the Outcomes and Evidence Framework, IRC’s program design tools.
    Support delivery of country-level Strategy Action Plans (SAP). Facilitate and coordinate regional participation in global strategy discussions, initiatives and pilots.
    Oversee implementation of SAP monitoring mechanism and review process, including leading annual SAP reviews and reporting.
    Build consensus around a common vision of what shared success in Asia looks like, including developing and tracking appropriate indicators.

    Take go/no-go decisions regarding pursuit of regional funding opportunities. In coordination with Regional director and Country Directors, engage in strong regional-level representation with governments, donors, international and local NGOs.
    Ensure timely submission of competitive, responsive and high-quality proposals that align with country priorities identified in Strategy Action Plans, and support country program colleagues in negotiations with donors.
    Oversee the design and implementation of IRC’s work in partnership to support and build capacities of local civil society and other key stakeholders, positioning IRC as a valued INGO partner.
    Participate in shaping policy positions and advocacy messages pertaining to the overall humanitarian situation and IRC’s response in Asia. 
    Advise country programs in networking and alliance-building activities, promoting cross-sectoral engagement with the private sector, universities, research institutions, and other potential “non-traditional” partners.

    The Senior Director of Enterprise Architecture, will report to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and be responsible for expanding World Vision International’s use of information technology as a strategic enabler of the Partnership’s goals and objectives. The Enterprise Architect (EA) will achieve this by strategically designing, developing, managing and implementing process models for enterprise-level applications, systems and solutions. This leader will be the primary advocate for EA methodologies, processes, and best practices.
    Responsible for the leadership of the Enterprise Architecture functions including Strategy and Planning, Oversight, and Enterprise Management.     About The Position
    The Director of National Elephant Action Plans (NEAPs) is responsible for providing strategic oversight and programmatic direction for National Elephant Action Plans across Africa. W orking independently and as part of a small team based in Nairobi and London, and in partnership with government, IGO and NGO partners in Africa and elsewhere, they will play a pivotal role in supporting African governments and partner NGOs to develop, review and implement NEAPs – utilizing the NEAP Standards and Guidelines and assisting with their periodic review process.
    They are responsible for senior-level program management and ensuring that program strategies, initiatives and outcomes advance the Elephant Protection Initiative’s human development and conservation priorities. Duties are diverse, and include designing and implementing program and conservation strategies, project management, technical oversight and monitoring, fundraising and capacity building. The Director of NEAPs ensures compliance with EPI policies, program and funding agreements, and local requirements.
    The EPI Director of NEAPs will be contracted to Stop Ivory, but will fulfil an EPI Secretariat function jointly managed by Stop Ivory and Conservation International. They will report to and be tasked by the EPI Secretariat’s lead representative from both Stop Ivory and Conservation International, who work closely together on all aspects of EPI Implementation.
    Key Responsibilities

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Advanced degree in biological, environmental or conservation science or related field.
    A proven track record of not less than ten years of developing conservation programmes with Conservation INGO’s/NGOs, preferably in Africa.
    Proven track record of securing and managing large grants, contractual agreements and project budgets
    Proven project management experience for cross-border projects and/or multi-site projects.
    Ability to engage with a variety of audiences from grass roots to high ranking government and/or donors.
    Successful experience in negotiating complex agreements with governments, NGO’S and other key supporters
    Exceptional project management skills.
    Fluency in English, both written and verbal is a must. Working knowledge of French or Portuguese is an added advantage.

    Computer literacy in relation to office applications (word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint).

    Job Description
    Under the direct supervision of the UN Women Country Director, the Operations Manager serves as a member of the senior management team, with oversight responsibilities for all aspects of Country Office (CO) operations. This includes strategic financial and human resources management, efficient procurement and logistical services, security management, ICT and common services consistent with UN Women rules and regulations. The Operations Manager additionally serves as a key advisor to the UN Women Country Director on matters of organizational integrity with the aim of ensuring: (i) compliance with UN Women policies and regulations; (ii) effective systems to support programme delivery and growth; (iii) accountability to organizational values and principles; and (iv) an enabling workplace environment in which staff potential is maximized.
    The Operations Manager leads and guides the CO Operations Team and fosters collaboration within the team, with programme staff and with other UN Agencies and a client-oriented approach. The Operations Manager works in close collaboration with programme teams in the Office, providing close guidance to programme staff who perform adjunct operations functions, ensuring that such staff are knowledgeable of rules and procedures governing programme finances, donor reporting, and personnel.     Duties and Responsibilities
     
    Manage and oversee the operations within the Region:

    Serve as a member of the Senior Management team and provide advice and support to the Country Director and Deputy Country Director on operational issues;
    Oversee the work of Operation Teams in Country Office;
    Review the annual workplan for the Operations Team and oversee its implementation and monitoring;
    Participate in review meetings to assess the managerial and operational capacities of implementing partners;
    Determine optimal techniques and business processes; lead business process mapping and establish internal standard operating procedures in all areas of the Operations Team’s functions in CO;
    Oversee and monitor implementation of corporate, budget, financial, procurement, and HR policies and systems and ensure adequate training of staff and project personnel on these issues in CO;
    Ensure a continuous and up-to-date flow of information between the RO and HQ and CO;
    Oversee all operations activities, including finance, human resources, procurement, transport, administration and ensure they follow UN Women rules, regulations, policies and procedures;
    Manage staff in Operations Team: Finalize performance plans and evaluation standards; conduct performance assessments, provide feedback and coaching.

    Manage planning, expenditure tracking and auditing of financial resources:

    Ensure strategic and efficient management of office and programme financial resources;
    Exercise proper financial controls;
    Report at the country level and to RO and HQ on established structures; seek advice from RO and HQ when deviations may be necessary;
    Work closely with HQ, RO on audit processes, including preparation and follow up and take corrective action as appropriate on audit findings and recommendations;

    Oversee recruitment processes; liaise with RO and HQ as necessary;
    Oversee contract management; advise on appropriate contract modalities;
    Provide technical guidance and advise on HR matters as deemed required.

    Oversee procurement processes:

    Manage the provision of goods and services for offices and projects following established corporate procedures regarding sub-contract review and awarding of contracts, evaluate for cost effectiveness and manage the negotiations in connection with eventual agreements; oversee procurement in CO;
    Oversee the preparation of procurement plans in CO; participate in local Procurement Review Committees;
    Oversee CO assets and liabilities and ensure proper inventory control.

    Oversee information and communications management:

    Oversee the implementation of ICT systems;
    Ensure staff have access to ATLAS functionality for improved business results and improved client services;
    Oversee maintenance of a secure, reliable infrastructure environment for ICT and adequate planning for disasters and recoveries.

    Serve as the focal point for security issues and ensure safety and security of staff:

    Manage day-to-day security related matters; update personnel and dependents lists; provide reports;

    Job Description
    The Finance Delegates main responsibility is to provide assistance in financial and administrative support to NorCross programmes managed by the Regional Representation in Nairobi. The Finance Delegate will be deputy on all financial follow up in the absence of the Regional Finance Manager.

    Main responsibilities
