    Fin Ops team’s accuracy in reporting by ensuring all costs are accrued correctly in time and billing done both in time and correctly

    Key Responsibilities
    Manage the Fin Ops Associates and team
    Engage with GSC in regular reviews
    Review job costing weekly and providing response to CSO manager and BCO.
    Providing FINOPS weekly reports and advice to senior management
    Provide weekly status of unbilled jobs with reasons and expected resolution timeliness and follow up to ensure they are billed as per plan.
    Receipt and management of exception reports, providing feedback to the CSO/Region/CEN
    Support the team’s query with GSC / Operations
    Maintain a working relationship with operations.
    Work with CI and Business Controller on continuously improving related processes in order to increase productivity, timeliness and quality.
    Ensure compliance to internal & external audit controls
    Mange ICB process
    Ensure data quality in Kewill.
    Develop an understanding of the EAF business to appreciate the dynamics and stakeholders in the business
    Partner with the GSC, IS, Operations and CS team in the CSO and increase cooperation between them.
    Collect data on errors made within the CSO to highlight improvement opportunities
    Meet up with Operations & GSC teams to address challenges faced and highlight the importance of improving the quality of inputs to GSC.

    Stocks Accountant Job Responsibilities
    Tracking the sales order life cycle and ensure that orders update to AR and GL. Investigating correcting and highlighting discrepancies as necessary including late/overdue delivery confirmations.
    Ensuring that product purchases are correctly recorded in the general ledger recorded and on time
    Reviewing and reconciling stock in transit accounts and ensuring that these are cleared as and when transactions are completed.
    Reviewing and reconciling all landed costs accrued against actual payments and ensuring these are cleared as and when transactions are completed.
    Reviewing monthly stock gains/losses and ensuring that these are within tolerances and are approved as per MOA
    Ensure that stock accounts reconcile within ECS and between ECS and the General ledger. Investigate integrity reports and ensure that differences are cleared.
    Preparing the month end stock valuations, validating the Cost of sales and margin analysis.
    Timely update of system costs and advising business of expected costs.
    Coordinating the quarterly and annual physical stock takes for all depots.
    Acting as JDE stocks focal point.
    Providing advice and assistance to depot stocks staff as necessary
    Key Challenges:
    The incumbent has to maintain the integrity of the volumes and values in JDE stock module with their equivalents in the general ledger. This means that a huge number of inter-related transactions have to be processed accurately and in the correct order against very tight closing deadlines
    Qualifications for the Stocks Accountant Job

    Good systems skills and knowledge of ERP (preferably JDE) processing systems.

    Mercy Corps implements high-quality, analytical development work in very difficult places. We have been operating in Kenya since 2008 and are presently implementing development programs across the Central, Rift Valley, North Western and Northern Eastern regions of Kenya.Mercy Corps is implementing a Kenya Election Violence Prevention and Response Program (KEVP) which is working to mitigate the risk of escalation of election-related violence in the lead up to, during, and immediately following the Kenyan elections scheduled for August 2017.
    KEVP will shore up ongoing efforts of Kenyan civil society organizations, including student organizations, youth bunges (parliaments) and the local private sector, religious groups, as well as current USG partners in Kisumu, Nakuru, Nandi and Nairobi, to ensure that youth and communities are able to remain resilient to political manipulation and ensure a peaceful election.
    KEVP will work with these key stakeholders to create communications materials such as film to be used in workshop trainings and for public screenings.
    The program will establish and strengthen existing local networks, including the 2013 Champions for Peace networks in Kisumu and Nakuru, establish county level Early Warning Early Response (EWER) Hubs, and link them to Uwiano platform, leverage different players and networks to preempt political manipulation by providing administrative and logistical support to enable them to monitor risks, and develop actionable plans for prevention and response.
    Purpose of Internship: The objective of the internship to offer a learning opportunity in preparation of program reports, developing of concept notes and have an understanding of peace building and the stakeholders involved in the implementation of peace building activities.Responsibilities: The intern will support the team through the following activities:
    Support the KEVP team in drafting, reviewing and editing program reports;
    Support with reviewing partners’ reports and supporting program partner’s whenever called upon;
    Support the program team with drafting concepts, background papers and other background materials for the program;
    Support the program team with planning coordinating and providing logistical support during meetings, workshops, roundtables and learning;
    Participate and support in trainings and workshops related to KEVP;
    Assist the program team in tracking, reporting and monitoring incidences in areas of operation by ensuring that all the tools to be used are updated;
    Support program reporting, peer learning on key cross cutting issues within programs and keep abreast of changing political scene and its impact on the program;
    Contribute to the development of a success stories and best practices;

    Learning Objectives: At the completion of this internship, the intern will:
