    Job Summary

    Principal liaison between the Hospital and other nursing bodies.
    Coordinating duty roster for all the nursing staff and students on rotation.
    Participating in counseling of staff and students on attachment.
    Actively participating in quality initiative programmers including and not limited to ISO.
    Participating in organising or facilitating CMEs or training activities for the hospital staff.
    Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the CEO.

    Qualifications

    Must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from institution recognized by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
    A Master of Science in Nursing, Public health, Healthcare Management or any related field will be an added advantage.
    Must have a KRN/KRM/KRCHN Diploma recognized by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
    Must have a valid registration and licensure with the Nursing Council of Kenya.
    S/he will have a minimum of eight (8) years working experience; five (5) of which should be current and in a busy Hospital setup with hands on experience in matters relating to Nursing Management.
    S/he must demonstrate understanding of nursing education and quality initiatives not limited to ISO.
    S/he should have strong leadership, people management, assertive, negotiating and influencing skills with the ability to build relationships and encourage consensus, partnering and networking at all levels.

    General Position Summary
    Mercy Corps seeks an exceptional leader in the area of conflict resolution, peacebuilding and public policy to lead Mercy Corps’ implementation of a multi-year, 9 million GBP program funded by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office through the Conflict, Stability and Security Fund (CSSF). Building Resilience in Civil Society (BRICS II) will engage local and national government, local civil society organizations and communities to mitigate the drivers, enablers and narratives of violent extremism in East Africa through support to policy initiatives, community engagement, and support to national civil society organizations in order to prevent the recruitment of vulnerable individuals by violent extremist organizations. The program will work primarily in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, through strategies adapted to the context and opportunities in each country to advance research, legislation and field implementation of activities. The Chief of Party will have overall responsibility for implementation of the BRICS II program and will be the primary point of contact for the FCO within Mercy Corps. ;.     Job Purpose
    The job holder is responsible for coordinating human resource planning and recruitment activities to ensure optimal staff availability in the Authority.
    Employment Terms: Permanent
    Reports to: General Manager, Human Resource Development
    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    Implements HR policies, strategies, procedures and standards to ensure compliance with HR Strategy and Corporate Human Resource Planning and Recruitment.
    Develops and analyses corporate manpower plans and supports line managers in forecasting manpower requirements through manpower demands and supply forecast plans that meet human resource requirements and ensures head count compliance.
    Implements Human Resource Plans to bridge staffing gaps and deal with surplus capacity through co-ordination of recruitment, selection and placement of staff as per the approved organizational structure.
    Evaluates manpower proposals and requirements from Functions and Stations and recommends appropriate manpower levels.
    Carries out organizational staff surveys, job analysis and work studies to optimize prevailing manpower levels.
    Reviews work methods/ processes and redesigns jobs to enhance efficiency and productivity while advising line Functions on queries related to manpower planning, job grading and organization of functions.
    Reviews Corporate Organization structures and Functional set ups to ensure they effectively respond to new business needs.
    Ensures accurate employee information in Human Resource Information System (HRIS) for efficiency and effectiveness of HR decisions and service delivery.
    Supports line managers in the development and review of Job Descriptions to create clarity for efficient and effective job performance and improvements
    Ensures accurate implementation of the staff benefit schemes for accuracy of payments.
    Ensures good maintenance and improvement of KAA Quality Management System (QMS) and Safety Management Systems (SMS

    Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience required for this position

    Relevant Bachelor’s degree
    Master’s level Qualification is desirable
    Relevant professional Qualifications
    Membership with relevant professional body at professional level qualification
    Valid professional Practicing license
    Minimum Eight (8) years relevant work experience with at least three (3) years Managerial experience
