    POSITION OBJECTIVE
    Senior Research Manager will support the Director of Programs to develop and expand the team’s research agenda and grow the team’s research portfolio, with the opportunity of leading/pursuing other research activities.

    The role requires a qualified, motivated and self-sufficient Senior Research Manager. The successful candidate should be adaptable, quick-to-learn, and comfortable working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines without compromising quality and thoroughness. She/he is also expected to have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) in order to be able to present their research to various stakeholders and in various national and, possibly, international platforms through a wide range of mediums.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    The main responsibility of the Senior Research Manager will be to manage and lead a portfolio of research projects under the supervision and with the support from the Director of Programs.
     The Senior Research Manager is expected to regularly provide project updates to the funders, research partners and other stakeholders.
    Apart from ensuring the diligent management of the project and the successful implementation of project activities, the Senior Research Manager is expected to lead the development of a steady stream of high-quality research outputs (briefs, articles, infographics, blog posts, etc.) from all project activities.
    Directing a broad public-health research-portfolio
    Apart from managing the projects the Senior Research Manager will work on designing research projects, preparing research proposals, identifying sources of funding, for research studies conducted with partner organizations. As part of this responsibility, the Senior Research Manager is expected to lead a dynamic team of Research Managers and Research Associates working on these projects.
    Ensuring dissemination and policy outreach
    Beyond research results, the Senior Research Manager is responsible for ensuring research results are effectively translated into practice and policy decisions. This involves conducting workshops, producing innovative dissemination material and actively engaging with practitioners, policy makers, banks and international organizations involved in the sector.
    The Senior Research Manager (S/he) will participate in developing potential research ideas, identifying funding sources, and partner organizations.
    The Senior Research Manager will be responsible for representing CPHD at seminars, conferences, the press, and meetings with various key sector stakeholders. While taking complete ownership of some projects that are part of the CPHD research agenda, the Senior Research Manager is an integral part of defining the direction of CPHD.

    Other responsibilities include:

    Senior Research Manager will work closely with research, funding and implementing partner and other staffs to perform variety tasks including, but not limited to:
    Overseeing the implementation of the research study
    Ensuring quality of data during data collection and assisting with data cleaning
    Conducting data-analyses using statistical methods
    Contributing to CPHD’s management and overall strategic visioning

    QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

    Master’s Degree (or higher) in Healthcare/Public Health/Global Health is mandatory.
    At least 7-8 years of management and/or research experience in doing research.
    Flexibility and ability to deal with uncertainty. Adaptability to project needs and schedules.
    Strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of quantitative research methodology.
    Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

    Main Responsibilities

    Set an example by reporting to duty punctually wearing business attire according to the hotels dress code & Kempinski grooming standards, maintaining a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.

    Qualifications

    Deputy Project Director

    Position Summary
    The PACE (Policy, Advocacy, and Communication Enhanced for Population and Reproductive Health) project is a Cooperative Agreement awarded to Population Reference Bureau (PRB) by the United States Agency for International Development. The project aims to elevate family planning (FP) and population issues in policies and programs as key to sustainable and equitable economic growth and development. PACE Kenya works to 1) secure commitments and mobilize domestic—and specifically county—resources to finance FP programs and services; 2) provide technical assistance in policy communications for integration of multi-sectoral approaches, such as Population, Health and Environment (PHE), at county level and; 3) supports the National Council for Population and Development in its role to lead on multi-sectoral population policy and strategy in Kenya. The project works in four counties (Narok, Busia, Samburu and Nakuru) and at the national level.
    The Deputy Project Director (DPD) will serve as the senior manager of the PACE project in Kenya. The DPD will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight and in-country management of the project. S/he will coordinate closely with the Senior Advisor for East Africa to ensure that the project achieves its expected results through effective execution of project operations. In addition, the DPD provides technical expertise in the area of PHE integration and/or FP/RH policy in Kenya.
    Essential/Primary Responsibilities:

    Provides day-to-day oversight of project activities, supporting a dynamic project team to deliver results per the annual work plan and budget.
    Ensures technical, financial, procurement, and administrative activities are carried out according to PRB’s policies and procedures and in compliance with USAID regulations.
    Oversees implementation of project monitoring and evaluation activities, regular internal reporting of results, and ensures that project results are met.
    Takes a lead role in project reporting including coordination of quarterly project and financial reports.

    Accountabilities

    Experience and Education

    Graduate degree in public health, social sciences, public administration; business, or related field.
    Minimum 7-8 years of experience in project management, including program, finance and operations management.

    Experience managing USAID programs in health or family planning.

    Franchise Stakeholder management (assets, suppliers, rights holder, etc). In conjunction with the BU Agency Operations Manager, aligns on the best agency management approach to deliver value and world class exectution with the best agency partners.
    Has the approval authority on the final executions before they go on live in Franchise also responsible from the results delivery and as per Franchise RAPID

    The Key responsibilities are:

    To implement and actively manage the Franchise asset strategy aligned to the objectives of the entire Franchise System
