  • Security Supervisor

    Security Supervisor

    Reporting to the General Manager, the Security Supervisor is responsible for formulating, coordinating and implementing of an effective security plan and surveillance network to ensure safety and security of the company, employees, products, customers, and their product while in the company premises.
    Accountabilities

    Developing information and intelligence systems and other support mechanisms facilitate prosecution of offending parties
    Overseeing reporting procedure that tracts security incidents for improving prevention mechanisms
    Establishing and implementing strategies to prevent unauthorized entry of persons, vehicles and goods to the company premises and to restricted areas by carrying out security checks
    Conducting investigation into all reported cases of theft, fraud, accidents, damages, injuries, assault and where requested customer complaints
    Supporting management to observe compliance of corporate policies
    Assessing and investigating all forms of threats that might lead to breach of security and safety and proactively responding to situations with mitigating measures
    Keeping management and staff up-dated on security developments and/or risks that may affect the company and makes recommendation to minimize such risks
    Maintaining records of acts of unlawful interference or crime for possible prosecution or other reference

    Job Qualifications:

    A minimum of Diploma in a relevant field
    A minimum of 4 years’ experience in Security Management, 2 of which should be in a senior role
    Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures and strategies to promote effective security operations for employees and assets
    Experience with Windows Servers
    Knowledge of Security Management softwares
    Knowledge on relevant national laws and guidelines regarding emergenc

    Maintain a log book showing vehicle movement.
    Assist in workshops/training materials preparations.

    Assist with routing internal mail, photocopying, filing and making/receiving calls.
    Follow up with vehicle maintenance regulations and licenses and make recommendations to the Administrative Officer for necessary actions.

    Required Experience

    Ability to work extra hours when required.

    A minimum of 4 years’ experience in driving, KCSE certificate holder or equivalent or similar and Knowledge of Kenyan roads and terrain, specifically in Western Kenya.

    About the Job
    Based in Bardhere, the Protection Field Officer contributes to the implementation of Protection activities in Jubbaland with a focus on Gedo and other areas as required.
    Job Responsibilities

    Assists the Protection team in documenting and mapping of major conflict-related events with significant Protection of Civilian Population (PCP) implications;
    Identifies and monitors humanitarian needs, priority issues and International Humanitarian Law’s violations in his/her Area of Responsibility (AoR) for further monitoring and follow up and proposes course of action;
    Collects first-hand information from a variety of sources on specific violations/abuses; provides practical guidance and support to the protection team on the PCP issues on the ground;
    Conducts detailed field assessments looking at the needs of the affected populations and the viability of an ICRC intervention on a particular violation;
    Supports detention visits when needed and follows up on the specific issues identified;
    Contributes to daily monitoring of the political, economic and social developments and their impact on the population in AoR;
    Assists in monitoring of important and sensitive public communication;
    Informs and sensitizes field staff, Somali Red Crescent Society (SRCS) staff, local organisations and local authorities on ICRC Protection activities and other varying issues of interest;
    Provides support to develop and maintain an extended network of contacts among local authorities, parties to the conflict, local leaders, humanitarian organizations and members of civil society;
    Reports regularly on the ongoing activities/projects, develops various departmental reports including multidisciplinary assessments and operational reports;
    Contributes to the definition of the annual objectives and plans of actions in coordination with the rest of the Protection team.

    Requirements
    Interested? You should possess the following qualifications and experiences and have the following competencies:

    University Degree;
    At least 4 years of experience in a similar field;
    Knowledge of IHL/IHRL is an asset;
    Ability to network, represent the institution externally and dialogue with major stakeholders;
