    Duties 

    Establishing and building press relationships (broadcast, radio, print, social);
    Pitching press on a daily basis, creating releases, advisories and quick story ideas in collaboration with program and staff leads, project communications officers in the region and partners;
    Identifying story angles based on media coverage, trends and CIP’s priorities – working closely with the Regional Communications Specialist;
    Preparing spokespeople; creating talking points, backgrounders and issue briefs;
    Organizing media tours, deskside briefings, editorial meetings for key spokespeople/scientists;
    Maintaining media database (Meltwater) globally, ensuring lists are up-to-date, in collaboration with regional managers and field staff;
    Creating and optimizing cross-promotion opportunities with partners and donors
    Collaborating with field staff and promotion officers (Aime, David) to maximize efforts and expand reach;
    Providing general communications support up to 20% per day with 80% dedicated to media activities.

    Requirements

    Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Media studies or related field;
    1 year Experience in a newsroom or media environment highly desirable;
    Proficient in English and Kiswahili;
    Skills in database management
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    Ability to work in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams;
    A Kenyan citizen.
    Conditions: This is an internship position open to Kenyan citizens only. The internship contract will be for a period of three months with the possibility of renewal, subject to performance.

    Scope and General Purpose
    The Assistant credit officer will be tasked with the responsibility of providing assistance and evaluation of credit applications in the interest of the Springboard capital to maintain its reliability.
    Duties and Responsibilities

    He will assist the senior credit officer to measure the cash generated by the borrower in order to assess the repayment capability.
    He will support the senior credit officer to analyse the credit data and determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money to the borrower.
    He shall, with direction from the SCO facilitate completion of loan applications, credit analysis and summaries of loan requests and supervise over the post submission process to report it back to the Business Development manager.
    Assist the senior credit officer in use of financial ratios to estimate the customer’s financial status.
    Process approved loans for disbursement
    Undertake timely valuation and renewals of contracts with service providers upon their expiry.

    Professional Qualifications and Experience

    Bachelors Degree in a business related field.
    At least one year experience working in the same capacity in a Micro-Finance institution.
    Diploma in Credit Management will be an added advantage

    This program is collaboration between the Kenya Medical Research Institute and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It involves conducting research and program support for activities related to malaria, HIV and other diseases. It is within this remit that the program has a vacancy in Vaccine Impact Diarrhea Assessment in Africa (VIDA) under DGPH
    CLINICAL OFFICER– MR7/1
    Location: Siaya County
    Reports to: Study Coordinator /Clinical supervisors
    The study Clinical officer will enroll study participants and complete study Case Report Forms and be the team lead in the facility for VIDA related activities.
    Job Requirements:

    Must have a Diploma in Clinical Medicine, registered with the Clinical Officers Council (COC) and must possess a valid practicing license.
    Training in Good Clinical Practice (preferably from CITI) and IMCI will be added advantage.
    At least 1 year experience working in research set up or program.

    Duties

    With guidance from the study coordinator/ clinical supervisor in VIDA Study.
    The clinical officer will enroll VIDA study participants.
    Act as team leader at facility level and offer technical support to other non-medical staff in the clinic protocol and Referrals as needed.
    Reports and present reports relevant to the study management es across departments within the Sentinel
    Health Facilities sample collection and processing and attend study meetings duties as assigned by immediate supervisor

    Terms of Employment: One (1) year renewable contract as per KEMRI scheme of service and a Probation period for the first three 3 months.
    Remuneration: Compensation is negotiable within the relevant grade, based on educational, relevant experience and demonstrated competency.
