The Youth SRHR Technical Officer will provide technical support in the implementation of youth SRHR interventions in collaboration with the other technical officers. The jobholderwill provide hands on technical support to County and Sub-CountyHealth Management Team (CHMT) to increase utilization of FP/RMNCAH and Nutrition services targeting youth and adolescents in Kwale county. The role holder will work under the overall direction and supervision of the County coordinator and the Adolescent & Youth Health Technical Advisor, and, close coordination with relevant line ministries and other Implementing Partners within the county.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, public health, social communication and related discipline.
Demonstrated experience with a mix of practical technical skills in adolescent/youth programming necessary for strengthening adolescent/youth service delivery at the facility and community levels
Experience
At least three (3) years relevant experience in implementing and/or providing technical assistance in adolescent/youth FP/RH programming.
Experience working with government or donor funded programs.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with government representatives, for-profit private sector entities, local community organizations, donors and other stakeholders, particularly at the sub national level, preferably including demonstrated experience in building service delivery quality and utilization.
Experience in implementing projects involving diverse partners, consortiums and operations
Knowledge of participatory research methods, participatory action and learning

Responsibilities Technical
Support formulation and Implementation of innovative approaches to ensure that youth targets are met in the county.
Work with SBCC Technical Officer to support the County to develop SBCC strategy that includes AYSRH approaches.
Ensure youth FP/RH plans are properly developed, coordinated and timely implemented.
Ensure youth champions are identified and trained to facilitate peer sessions in the counties.
Participate in FP/RH technical Working Groups network in the county, maintaining communication and feedback loops on all substantive work.
Conduct Inception and other meetings with key program stakeholders (including Government
Agencies) to secure buy in and support for project implementation from key stakeholders
Lead the development, roll out and implementation of AfRika online platform in the county.
Ensure AfRika online platform is utilized to support mobilization and increase demand for youth friendly services
With the support of county project implementation teams and C/SCHMTS, coordinate youth engagements, dialogues and youth forums
Contribute to development of youth centered FP/RH messages and other materials for use by young people.
Provide technical oversight and capacity building through training, mentorship and on-the-job support for peer providers on Youth FP/RH awarenessraising, and referrals where necessary.
Project Management
Support the development of concept notes, work plans, budgets and other related activities within the program
Support monitoring and evaluation of activities including preparation of monitoring reports, documents and lessons learned.
Contribute actively to the preparation of internal and donor reporting requirements.
Work with the team in budgeting for project activities and ensure compliance to the Finance policy and other organizations policies.
Ensure project activities budget expenditures for youth FP/RH activities are allowable according to program and donor regulations.
Stakeholder engagement and partnerships
Participate in / represent the project in relevant forums, explore and nurture new and existing youth partnershipsthat contribute to meeting project objectives.
Develop partnerships with various youth groups, religious groups, young mother’s women’s groups, health care providers, community health units, youth groups and other organized groups in the community to orient them on the Program goals and to solicit their involvement in the implementation of the Program
Develop close collaboration with various non-governmental organizations implementing the program to facilitate cross organizational learning
Represent the program in county fora to share good practices and ensure the achievement of advocacy and policy objectives
Knowledge management
Document and maintain an inventory of successful tools and approaches for adolescent and youth-sensitive FR/RH services.
Assist in developing and preparing business plans, briefings, and public relations material related to new business within the RMNCAH programme.
Support program’s visibility through participation in technical meetings and conferences, development and delivery of presentations, and engagement in technical conversations and/or working groups with partners and donors.
Admin and financial management
Support in day to day management of activity budgets including processing field imprests and other financial transactions.
Ensure timely accounting for the use of project resources by stakeholders and communities in liaison with finance teams.
Program Development
Contribute to writing proposals and concept notes and designing new programmaticn interventions focusing on Adolescents and Youth Sexual Reproductive Health.
