Job Purpose: The position of, Yamaha Brand Manager exists to provide leadership in the development and implementation of the Yamaha strategy to deliver excellent and sustainable results in revenue generation, customer service in order to ensure profitability and increase market share.

Main Responsibilities of the Job
Managerial / Supervisory Responsibilities

Provide leadership in the development and implementation of Yamaha strategy to achieve profitable results and increase market share of sales, services and parts
Lead the development of comprehensive Yamaha policies and procedures that provide guidelines in compliance with the manufacture and Toyota Kenya standards in service delivery
Champion the performance of the division through development of proactive training programs, regular feedback and performance appraisals for the Yamaha team to ensure achievement of the set targets
Provide leadership in the development and implementation of the Yamaha budget, to ensure efficient allocation of resources necessary for implementation of Yamaha strategy, and monitor utilisation to ensure efficiency in use of resources
Provide leadership in the development and growth of Yamaha dealer network (both 3s and 2s) around the country to support the achievement of the division targets
Provide leadership in the management of sales activities, after-sales activities and CKD Assembly operations, cost and forecast sales data (for units, parts and service) to promote the achievement of the set targets

Operational Responsibilities

Represent Yamaha in lobbying motorcycle specific agenda to the Kenya Government and EAC Secretariat through active participation in forums such as Motorcycle Assemblers Association of Kenya, Kenya Association of Manufactures, Kenya Private Sector Alliance and meeting with relevant government ministries and department such as Kenya Bureau of Standards and National Treasury
Supervise the design, execution and follow up on events and promotions that give Yamaha high profile and appropriate positioning to the right market segments in order to grow the market share
Develop strategic partnerships with the manufactures, communicate regularly on market and product issues to facilitate price negotiations with the manufacturers
Confer with the Toyota Kenya managing director and other Toyota Kenya senior management members to review achievement and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from currently prevailing market and economic conditions
Regularly review the Yamaha’s performance to ensure it is on course to achieve its strategic objectives
Promote customer visits in order to understand the customers’ needs and to promote customer satisfaction and retention.
Lead the provision of good quality intelligence to management and Yamaha Motor Corporation on the customers’ requirements and Yamaha Motor Corporation ability to meet those needs versus competitors.
Supervise the establishment and maintenance of strong partnerships with dealers and support them to ensure dealer achievement of sales and aftersales targets as well as profitable sales and aftersales targets
Provide leadership to the Yamaha team in competitor analysis, competitor impact to the Yamaha business, as well as in the development of strategies to enhance Yamaha market share
Lead the provision of a conducive working environment at the workshop, CKD plant and showrooms in the Division in line with the ANZEN guidelines
Lead the implementation of Total Quality Management to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the Yamaha operations

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Minimum level of academic and professional qualification required to perform effectively in the role
Master’s degree in a technical/business discipline from a recognized institution.
Minimum level of experience required to perform effectively in the role
12 years of relevant working experience, with 5 years in senior management in an organization of similar size and complexity
