Duties and Responsibilities 
An officer at this level will be responsible for:

being in charge of operation and maintenance of the University water supply;
overseeing the operations and maintenance of the University Water Supply and Sewerage Systems;
supervision of minor water supply and/or sewerage extension as designed by the Engineer; 
work out construction cost estimates for minor works;
undertaking training needs for the Department; and
any other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements for direct appointment 
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must: 

have Higher National Diploma in Water Engineering or its equivalent;
have seven (7) years relevant working experience; and
have demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Requirements for Serving Officers
For promotion to this grade, an officer must:

have Higher National Diploma in Water Engineering or its equivalent; 
have served as Water Technician I or Sewerage Technician I Grade 7/8 (VII/VIII) for at least three (3) years; and
have shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
