Warehouse and Distribution Team Leader

JOB DESCRIPTION 

WAREHOUSING

Overseeing operations which include Warehousing and Distribution operations.
Implementing operational policies and procedures. Ensuring that the logistics operations comply with local, national, and international regulations.
Ensuring effective and safe use of the Warehouse environment.
Ensuring the safety of staff.
Maintaining documentation and keeping accurate records of warehouse activities.
Maintaining awareness and knowledge of the condition and location of the fleet vehicle.
Manage weekly cycle counts and quarterly stock takes to ensure inventory accuracy.
Partnering with suppliers to develop and maintain optimal storage and labelling that will support efficiency in inventory handling and storage.
Facilitating communication between different departments and team members to ensure all parties are aligned on operations.
Managing KPIs with 3PL to ensure optimal performance from suppliers.
Maintaining Stock Accuracy above 99.98%

OUTBOUND DISTRIBUTION 

Ensuring the safe transport of products to customers through 3PL.
Ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of products to customer.
Creating, implementing, and managing strategies and processes to guarantee all products, incoming and outbound, is sent and received on time.
Manage and implement agreed-on SLAs with 3PL distribution partners.
Manage documentation process for all export orders ensuring compliance with all statutory and internal requirements.
Maintaining the picking and loading accuracy at 100%.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

Manage workload and assigned tasks for the logistics team.
Providing guidance, support, and leadership to ensure the team operates efficiently and effectively.
In charge of the recruitment process for any staff changes within the logistics team.
Coach and develop the logistics team.
Manage performance appraisal for the logistics team.
Ensure a safe working environment for the logistics team.
Manage contracts for the outsourced employees within the logistics team.

ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

A Bachelor Degree in supply chain or any related field is an added advantage.

PROFESSIONAL WORK EXPERIENCE 

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Logistics supervisory roles.
Experience working in a manufacturing outfit.
