Duties and Responsibilities
UNEP is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the UN system and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment. UNEP’s mandate is to coordinate the development of environmental policy consensus by keeping the global environment under review and bringing emerging issues to the attention of governments and the international community for action. UNEP’s Communications Division communicates UNEP’s core messages to all stakeholders and partners, raising environmental awareness and enhancing the profile of UNEP worldwide. Under the supervision of the Head of Multimedia, the Video Editor will perform the following duties:

Lead video editing for UNEP content production, including logging, transcriptions, editing and motion graphics.
Collaborate with producers and filmmakers to create and manage video outputs.
Undertake all post-production processes, including logging, transcription, translation, editing, sound design, music selection, stock video sourcing, color grading, and visual effects.
Undertake draft management and feedback integration, including managing multiple drafts and revisions, ensuring timely delivery.
Design, create and integrate motion graphics, .mogart templates and animations, as required.
Ensure video content accuracy, clarity, cohesion, and conformity with UN standards, policies, and practices.

Qualifications/special skills

A master’s degree in media management, video production, communications or other related field is required.
A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the master’s degree.
At least seven years of experience working in multimedia production, film making and/or video for high-quality platforms is required.
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and other Creative Suite software is required.
Prior experience editing and also shooting video and still photography using DSLR and cinema cameras is desirable.
Familiarity with 360 films and short-form video productions for social media use is desirable.
Prior experience in the international arena, familiarity with the work of the UN is desirable.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in written and oral English is required.
