Job Summary
The students will work from the IHD offices and subject to field travel depending on the project needs. The studentship will cover a modest stipend towards their accommodation and other living expenses.
Responsibilities
The incumbent shall work closely with the senior project team members who will provide direct supervision and ultimately report to the Principal Investigator;
Undertake training in Good Clinical Practice (GCP), research ethics, SOP and other project associated training;
Support with research activities specified under each project; and
Participate in scientific activities of the department Prepare an end of internship report highlighting some of the key learning and outputs.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in special education and Psychology, Environmental Studies, Social Studies, Nutrition, Nursing, Public Health, Statistics or other relevant fields. Top performing students will be highly considered;
Students who graduated in the last one year, or in the final year of their graduate studies and/or in their industrial attachment will be considered;
Kenyan applicants will be preferred;
Have a desire to learn and work in the field of research;
Proficiency in with MS Office Package and computer skills;
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Kiswahili;
Be of sound moral conduct and ability to work with teams;
Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills and a meticulous approach to documentation;
Strong attention to detail, ability to work with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines;
Demonstrate high levels of integrity and confidentiality; and
Teamwork with the ability to work with diverse teams.
