UI/UX Specialist Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist Finance and Operations Officer

Reporting and Supervision:

The UI/UX Specialist will report to the Senior Manager (Digital Strategy).

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze user requirements, ensuring a deep understanding of their needs and preferences
Conduct user research, and business process mapping as part of the agile software development team. Conduct extensive research to identify user pain points, preferences, and behaviors, employing both qualitative and quantitative methods
Use storyboards, process flows, and sitemaps to illustrate design concepts
Create wireframes, prototypes and mock-ups using design and prototyping tools
Spearhead the creation of visually appealing and intuitive user interface designs, incorporating mock-ups, prototypes, and interactive elements
Develop detailed system specification and design documentation based on user requirements
Conduct heuristic testing and user testing sessions to assess the usability and effectiveness of design solutions, making iterative improvements based on feedback and data-driven insights
Convene and moderate user experience and requirements validation meetings with key users and stakeholders
Identify and resolve UX issues
Develop user documentation including user guides and manuals for products
Collaborate with the development team to ensure seamless integration of design elements into the final product, maintaining consistency and usability across different platforms
Scrum / Agile Development participation
Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UX design, and apply this knowledge to enhance the overall user experience

Key Competencies Required:

Agile mindset and experience working within an agile development environment
Knowledge of graphic design range of products such as Adobe Creative Suite, Moqups, In Vision or InDesign, and the ability to create high-fidelity mock-ups and prototypes
Proficiency in user research methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative approaches
Solid understanding of information architecture, interaction design, and visual design principles
Ability to work in a fast paced, agile development environment
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Knowledge of usability Factors in Human Computer Interaction
Demonstrate strong problem solving and technical skills
Knowledge of the trends in the software development domain
Should be able to work under minimum to no supervision and yet deliver quality results on time
Basic web development and programming skills are a plus
Ability to coordinate and balance priorities of multiple projects and deliverables

Professional Expertise/Competencies Preferred:

Adequate professional experience directly supporting the development, and implementation of mission critical systems
Relevant experience in enterprise-level Business Analysis, Systems Analysis and UI/UX design
Experience working in an agile/scrum development environment
Experience in driving ongoing improvements and efficiencies in operational practices, tools & processes
