Job Purpose
The incumbent is responsible for concluding foreign exchange activities within the Personal, Premium and Business banking segments customers to realize profit in line with targets through:
Aggressively market treasury products to new and existing clients within the Business Banking.
Actively Engage /reviewing branch performance – Liaising closely with the Relationship officers and Branch Managers to ensure relationships with new clients are maintained.
Calling prospective and newly introduced clients to transact forex deals and continuous monitoring of selected branch clients on forex transactions.
Negotiating and concluding foreign exchange transactions with customers to buy and sell foreign currencies in the SPOT and FORWARD market.
Actively market bank products to small businesses and medium enterprises.
Keeping track of live market currency prices and advising customers by either phone, e-mail, SMS or via the daily Treasury newsletter on prevailing market prices and market events;
Grow sector customer’s base under assigned portfolio.
To actively monitor the existing database of clients to increase penetration and client stickiness.
Key Responsibilities
Grow sector customer’s base under business banking portfolio and generate new leads for forex sales growth.
To provide ongoing training RMs and branch staff as well as monitoring RMs performance on-going basis.
Develop and grow new customer pipeline in line with the bank New to bank customers strategy.
Monitoring currency prices and recording customer orders so that we can inform customers when preferred currency price levels emerge.
Preparing and extracting data on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis including the customer wise analysis of sales, turnover, and P&L income from Finacle Treasury. Data analysis – extracting daily and monthly sales volume or profitability and cascading the analysis to various relationship centres within the Bank as may be required;
Keeping track of changes in major local and international currency exchange rates for the purpose of anticipating trends and risks and informing corporate customers of appropriate hedging operations such as Forwards, Swaps and Options.
Attending to all customer and Branch operational queries pertaining to foreign exchange transactions (Business Banking segments customers);
Negotiating Forex rates with customers and Branch staff whilst ensuring accuracy and correctness of the deals and capturing on the physical blotter.
Person Specifications
Academic Qualifications
Masters of Business Administration degree or its equivalent from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics or Finance from a recognized institution.
Professional Qualifications
ACI dealing certificate or its equivalent
Part completion of ACCA / CPA (K) / CFA or its equivalent will be an added advantage
Experience
At least 4 to 5 years’ relevant experience in a treasury front office role.
