Trauma-Informed Yoga Instructor

Qualifications & Competencies

Minimum 200-hour yoga teacher training certification; 500-hour certification preferred
Qualifications in trauma-informed yoga and/or psychology, therapy, counseling, or social work
Experience leading yoga classes or programs for the specific purpose of healing or trauma recovery
A strong understanding of trauma and how it impacts the body, and how yogic methods help the body to heal
Ability to lead secular but holistic yoga classes, keeping in mind the different religious and cultural backgrounds of refugee students
Availability for weekly classes over three months
Timeliness and reliability
High emotional maturity and passion for helping young women heal
The ability to work in Kenya; fluency in English and Kiswahili. Language skills in French or local dialects spoken in Somalia, Congo, and South Sudan are a plus
