Transport Officer

Qualification
Education, Skills and Experience

Diploma in Transport Management or Logistics.
Driving license BCE or its equivalent with 5 years’ experience as a Driver or at a comparable position and a valid certificate of good conduct

Duties and responsibilities:

Implementations of transport policy as approved by the university management.
Proposing improvement in the existing transport system.
Ensuring the proper inventory of all components of vehicles are maintained checked frequently.
Ensuring that the maintenance, oiling and servicing schedule of vehicle followed.
Keeping records and /or history of drivers and accidents.
Maintaining duty rosters of drivers and mechanics.
Arranging for retraining and re-certification of drivers and registration and certification of vehicles.
Submitting regular and comprehensive reports to the transport manager.
Ensuring safe parking of vehicles at the university.
Coordinating the schedule for major and periodic vehicle maintenance management and staff to minimize service interruptions.
Monitoring and controlling the pick-ups and delivering of students as per the route and schedule.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the transport manager.
