Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy Implementation:
Execute the country’s trade sales strategy in alignment with the bank’s objectives.
Develop and implement sales plans to achieve targets and increase market share.
Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities in the country.
Client Relationship Management:
Act as a product partner to the relationship management team.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
Conduct joint client meetings with relationship managers to understand client needs and provide tailored trade finance solutions.
Transaction Origination:
Originate trade finance transactions by identifying client needs and proposing suitable products.
Support the relationship management team in originating transactions by providing product expertise and structuring solutions.
Develop and present trade finance proposals to clients, highlighting benefits and addressing any concerns.
Business Development:
Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the client base.
Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain high-value clients.
Collaborate with the Market and Product Analyst to offer innovative trade finance solutions.
Sales Performance and Target Achievement:
Meet and exceed sales targets for trade finance products and services.
Monitor sales performance and implement corrective actions to address underperformance.
Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for the Head of Trade, Kenya & EAC.
Product Knowledge and Promotion:
Maintain in-depth knowledge of trade finance products, services, and market trends.
Conduct product presentations and training sessions for clients and internal teams.
Collaborate with the Trade Finance Middle Office to ensure smooth product delivery.
Market Analysis and Competitor Intelligence:
Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and threats.
Analyze competitor activities and develop strategies to gain a competitive edge.
Provide insights and feedback to the Head of Trade, Kenya & EAC and product development teams.
Risk Management and Compliance:
Ensure all sales activities comply with country and international trade regulations.
Work with the compliance team to identify and mitigate risks associated with trade finance transactions.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of sales activities and client interactions.
Team Collaboration and Support:
Collaborate with the Trade Finance Middle Office and Market and Product Analyst to ensure seamless service delivery.
Provide support and guidance to junior team members and sales representatives.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, International Trade, or a related field. Relevant professional certification is an added advantage.
Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in trade finance sales or a related field, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets.

In-depth knowledge of trade finance products and services.
Ability to analyze market trends and competitor activities.
