Scope of the Role
Part of the CES Africa commercial team, you will act as a bridge between market and crop team.
Main Purpose of the Job
You will provide technical expertise and leadership for the characterization advancement, development and commercial growth of varieties.
You will understand the grower needs & practices as well as market trend to secure knowledge transfer to the rest of organization .
You will support demand creation by using technical and practical product knowledge towards internal and external customers.
You will use agronomical expertise to bring agronomical solutions to growers.
Key Responsibilities
Build strong relationship and partnership with key customers, distributors and external stakeholders in order to seize opportunities and accelerate growth.
For CES Africa, plan and manage with distributors & sales the pre-commercial trials, including promotional trials or platforms mainly for tomato, onion, bean, pepper, watermelon, cabbage….;
Executes protocols (trials, growing and harvesting) without deviation to meet applicable stewardship and regulatory requirements . Generate and analyse data to report to the Regional Crop Team(s), ensuring the products full characterization, positioning and supporting product advancement decisions by the crop team(s); Has solid information and evidence of product performance (FABS) and acknowledges and supports product advancement to commercialization
Uses Monsanto-provided data collection and data analysis tools (e.g., FTS and Spotfire ) to create reports to drive variety advancement / drop recommendations and/or FABs on NVIs and market extensions.
Continually identifies the FABS of new products and aligns them to market opportunities and market needs
Provide to sales team all the support to promote and sell new varieties.
Partner with sales and distributors through promotional trials, training participation to growers meeting and exhibition and claim inquiries to ensure resolution when needed
Interact with other functions (Breeding, Product Management), possibly through participation to the local Crop Team
Manage trials budget in alignment with cropXcountry strategy for CES Africa region.
Education
Qualifications
Higher degree in Agronomy
Work Experience
Experience in and knowledge of running trials and data analysis
Work experience of at least 3 years
Proven ability to deliver results in a multi-disciplinary team
Knowledge of the products and industries in which the company operates is a plus
