Technical Sales – Thermodynamics Engineer

We are looking for a Technical Sales – Thermodynamics Engineer to join our team in Nairobi, Kenya. As an Technical Sales – Thermodynamics Engineer you will provide technical support Sales for Thermal products and solutions and pre-sales technical support when building proposals, quotes and tenders. 

What kind of work will you be doing?
Technical support:

Review RFQs and identify customer requirements/specifications;
Provide sales and pre-sales support with technical support of product specifications and applications;
Standard product selection based on customer requirements;
Coordinates with factory engineering departments for specific technical requests;
Provide input to/and keep CRM update for ROW projects.

Special applications – Configure-to-Order (CTO):

Design new solutions where standard products do not fit;
Ensure solution is compliant with Design Verification Tests (DVT) and traditional certification;
Configure the ETO products in C1;
Define feasibility and costs of solutions/products;
Integration, coordination and support the internal pre-sales and/or external suppliers;
Prepare relevant technical documents;
Internal support for project management team and sales;
Presentation/explanation of solution to sales organization;
Support Engineering and Manufacturing, and manage development of ETO product once customer order is received;
Manage the relationship between Sales teams and the Line of Business.
Attend customer meetings with Sales manager as a technical expert;
Create product and application presentations for customers and consultants;
Visit consultants on a regular basis, owning the relationships and collaborate in developing effective solutions;
Provide technical trainings to sales teams and customers;
Organise and host events and webcasts showcasing Vertiv products and technologies;
Work with Product Management and Sales teams to feedback on issues with current products and provide input around new products;
Constantly monitor the market for trends and competitor activities;
Support local quality management audits;
Support that any activity, task and responsibility required by role in terms of the International Trade Compliance Regulation is managed and performed in full compliance with the Company ITC certification program itself.  

What will make you successful? 

Bachelor’s Degree in administration preferable but not requirement
5 years’ experience in similar role
Oracle suite knowledge advantageous
Excellent written and verbal English skills
Excellent Microsoft Office skills – Excel and PowerPoint essential
Attention to details
Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision
Innovative, creative and solution focus
